Cottage vacation rentals in Sandy Lake

Great last minute decision to book a getaway at the Hideaway. We're familiar with the area, but were blown away by the peacefulness and the remoteness we felt, even being 20-30 mins. of "civilization". We wanted a weekend to unplug and reconnect and that is exactly what we got. We had the best time sitting on the porch, watching the river flow by, reading and talking and even waving to all of the friendly people who drove by to their own camps or homes on the road. We especially found it fun to listen to the acorns dropping on our roof and the neighbor's, too. It was a great way to enjoy the beginning of fall as we watched the leaves change and fall. We even saw an eagle flying across the river while we sat on the porch. The house had EVERYTHING you could need and then some. The porch was perfect and the fire circle area was amazing. We enjoyed a fire every night and a long walk (1.75 miles) over to Creekside Snacks for lunch. (cash only). Amy & Joe have an amazing house to offer.

Lovely cabin along the river, would definitely stay again. Bring firewood or buy it along the road somewhere before coming to the cabin as there's a firepit outside (not listed in the description) which was lovely for people who don't want to walk down to river. Fireplace inside as well to keep you cozy at night. Like others have said, lots of DVD's to watch while unwinding after a long day on the river. There's good fishing to be had if you look around and are up for an adventure. FYI - getting to the river from the house is very steep and for healthy / athletic individuals only. We didn't mind it but my mother fresh off of a knee surgery could not come down to river. Didn't bother her but wanted to include here. Overall, rated 5/5 stars and would definitely return again.

We just returned from the most relaxing stay at this beautiful lake cottage, and I can't say enough good things about it. If you're looking for a place to truly unwind and create some lasting memories with your kids, this is it. The cottage itself is cozy and well-kept, with all the comforts of home but surrounded by nature. Mornings were our favorite—waking up to the sounds of birds, sipping coffee on the porch, and watching the mist roll over the lake. Our kids had an absolute blast fishing off the dock. The lake is calm and clear, and they were thrilled to catch (and release!) a tons of fish. It was such a joy seeing them unplugged and completely in their element. The property also has a horse which was such a special touch. We were able to watch him every day, and the kids were completely enchanted. Beautiful area and great cabin! The beds were comfortable and the porch was perfect for morning coffee or evening hang out. Can’t wait to go back!

Sunny’s place was amazing, we came up to watch our son play college lacrosse over Easter break. She ensured that we had everything we needed to ensure a big Easter dinner was possible for a group of boys! Our pups loved watching the pond. Sunny’s place is outstanding and a must stay location, we felt very much at home, we will be back soon!

Brads cottage was beautiful and perfect for a weekend at Pymatuning! The state park entrance is only 5 mins down the road from the cottage so that was perfect. The hot tub was relaxing and the backyard very private. We loved the fire pit !

We decided to go out of town on a whim and found this place! It was perfect! We will definitely come again!!

A great, quiet little getaway from the daily grind to connect with nature. Semi-stocked fridge, fresh local eggs, fire pit, kayaks, board games, grill. All we needed to bring was our favorite snacks (s'mores ingredients were already there!). The bed was so comfortable and the shower was hot and strong.

Kurt has a cute house! He was also very responsive. Would recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! It was exactly as expected—clean, comfortable, and located on a quiet street. Perfect for both kids and dogs. We appreciated the games, Keurig, and the convenience of the washer and dryer. Everything was spotless and ready for us to use. Highly recommend!

Our family spent several days over Thanksgiving. The entire house was well thought out, seasonally decorated, and nicely appointed. It's obvious the hosts care about their property. Great location and spacious inside. Our dog had a blast in the nice fenced in yard and that made it very convenient just to let him out the slider and he could poke around and do his "dog things". The kitchen was well equipped and the cabinet and drawer labels helped everyone find what they needed. I would highly recommend the Blue Streak Cottage.

The house was very welcoming and cozy. Very quiet area and the neighbors were really nice as well! Very safe area and very clean.

Main cabin PLUS the bunkhouse was a perfect combo for our group.

We just loved staying at Cyndi's charming house. The house is so clean, stylish and comfortable, with many touches that make for a very pleasant stay. We especially loved sitting on the back patio and wandering in the woods. We will definitely be back!
