Monthly Rentals in San Sebastián Río Hondo

This is a beautiful Airbnb in a sweet little mountain village with some beautiful forest hiking. The air is cool up there at 8000 feet, a relief after the heat in Oaxaca city. This was one of the most well-organized and well-stocked budget airbnbs I have ever stayed in. I loved the spacious kitchen -- you could easily cook for a larger group in there. It was the best-equipped kitchen I can remember of any Airbnb I have stayed in. Audrey, the cheerful Ozzie hostess is delightful, she can tell you where the great hikes are. Try to stay for more than one or two nights if you can.

My stay at Janet’s place was absolutely perfect. The hut was immaculate, roomy, and very cool. There are two levels with the best spot for writing or reading that overlooks her garden and the valley beyond. Also a small library! The kitchen space is simple with everything I needed (electric camp stove, mini fridge, pots/pans, plates/utensils and filtered water). She provided towels and extra blankets. There is even a sweet little fireplace as the (Spring) nights got chilly. Outside was my own patio where I spent plenty of time just sitting and marveling at the surroundings. There’s a clothes line in back. Janet, herself is a warm-hearted delight! She gave me so much information (on & off script) and showed me around the village, introducing me to everyone we crossed paths with. She set me up with some extras and helped with communication. Sometimes we just talked, but she also afforded me plenty of privacy as well. She made me feel welcome and special. Janet is a true gem❤️.

We loved our stay at this rustic cabin in the woods. The cabin is in a really peaceful location, completely surrounded by trees. It's well-equipped and very homely inside. It gets very cold at night but there are plenty of blankets so that wasn't a problem.

My stay here was truly wonderful! I wish I would have stayed longer but it’s ok everything for a reason. I enjoyed waking up with the chickens and the sounds of the mountains. It was a lovely space to just be. I love the small fire place and kitchen area. One of the nights my friend came to visit me and we cooked a pretty big meal we had everything we needed also Fres mom took me to her garden and helped me pick fresh cilantro plus another herb for the soup we were making. Everyone was really kind! Also I have been traveling for awhile and most of my cold weather clothes were dirty so I asked Fres if she offered a service and she did 🥹 I was so thankful for the clean clothes!! Just be mindful there’s a walk down for the bathroom and shower. I wouldn’t recommend to someone with mobility problems. Bendiciones y con mucho amor Zee
