The Big Bear Phoenix Chalet

You will have the entire place to yourself! The large 1100 sqft house has been beautifully decorated and will amaze you with 16 foot high vaulted pine wood ceilings, natural light, a center piece fireplace plus a large, open plan entertainment area. This spacious “home away from home” sleeps 4-6 comfortably, with two separate bedrooms (one king and one queen bed with quality matresses and bedding), two bathrooms and a CB2 queen sleeper sofa with a fold-out queen mattress in the living room. There’s one full bathroom on the first floor and a large living / entertainment area on the second floor - with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a half bathroom - giving you lots of privacy and options. The Cabin has strong Wifi throughout the house and even on the entire property. The kitchen features a 5-burner gas stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, frensh press, kettle, blender, 4-slice toaster, rice cooker and a large fridge. The livingroom comes with a 50” Smart 4k resolution TV (wifi connectable) with Netflix and HBO access and a DVD player (we have a couple for you to use) - there’s also a Redbox at Vons only 5 minutes away. Also, there’s an additional TV in the master bedroom with DVD. Surrounded by trees, the house sits on a large fully fenced lot. The sun facing balcony and large outdoor area allows you to star gaze at night or have a BBQ with your friends & family. There's plenty of parking on site for more than six cars or even an RV or boat. We are centrally located on the sunny side of Big Bear Lake - one block from the lake, minutes to ski stations, lake, hiking in the San Bernadino Forest, zoo, golf and shopping/dining in the Village... near by bike, Sup, kayaks & boat rentals. Dogs may be allowed on request - must be discussed first. No cats, sorry. We do charge a flat pet fee on $50/stay. Come enjoy this Winter Wonderland! The whole home, front deck, yard surrounding home with ample parking for multiple cars. The cabin's exterior is monitored by security cameras. BBQ on deck for your grilling pleasures. Sheets, pillows, blankets and towels are provided. We will do our best to make your stay memorable and enjoyable! We are always available via text or phone. Big Bear Phoenix Chalet is quiet, yet is centrally located and close to the lake, hiking, and skiing. It's part of the upscale residential neighborhood of Whispering Forest which is extremely clean and safe. We kindly ask you to treat our home like your own - that’s the way we travel as well and if everyone is respectful of one another, we all have a great experience! *Please take off all shoes & boots at the front door. No muddy shoes allowed in the house. *Guest is responsible to clean up any mess brought into the cabin with mud, snow etc... Otherwise there will be an additional charge of $25 or more depending on the mess or damage. *Residential neighborhood: we have very sweet neighbors so please be respectful of them. No loud noise outside after 8pm, no open fires and no excessive music. *Check-out time is 11am and Check-in is 4pm...please note that we won't have flexibility on this during mayor holiday times *Please turn off all the lights, close windows and turn heater to 55 degrees in the winter months prior to checking out. *Please turn off the propane on the barbecue and scrub down the grill & cover it back up before you leave. Otherwise there will be an additional $25 charge. *If candle wax, glitter, silly string, confetti, red wine, vomit, blood or any unusual mess left to clean up, guest will be charged $150 per incident. *Lost keys - If a key is lost there will be a charge of $150 to cover the cost of a lock smith to come out and exchange all locks. *Trash - Please remove all of your trash from the cabin and put it in the outside bins. If they are full, either take it down the mountain with you or dispose it at one of the address listed below. PUBLIC TRASH DISPOSAL There is residential trash service in our area. However, we ask our guests to take their trash to a near-by trash dump at the end of their stay on their way down the mountain in case the bins are full. The City maintains two public trash sites for trash and recyclable disposal to serve both residents and visitors. The historic mining property of The Ranch of The Rising Sun was designed and restored as a completely off-grid haven by filmmakerJulian T Pinder. The Ranch of the Rising Sun, a mining base camp built in the 1920's, is the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern amenities. Off grid on a full solar system and water well, the home also provides high speed wifi, state of the art cooling and heating systems on a smart NEST thermostat, flatscreen tv with Netflix, Amazon etc, new top of the line oven / stovetop, vintage sound system with Bluetooth capabilities, keyless door entry etc. Guests have access to the entire house and property, including the wood burning stove (eucalyptus firewood is provided at all times free of cost), cowboy wood burning hot tub / cool dipping pool, grand piano, native cactus garden, fire pit, outdoor banquet dining table, hammock, alkaline drinking water, and some of the best hiking in the area right out the back door. The house and property are also right off of Pioneertown Road, with no long rough dirt roads to navigate and beat your car up on. The ranch was built and owned by Julian Pinder, who has lived in the area for years. Rent from locals, not out-of-town investors! Entire house and property, as well as endless hiking and adventuring right behind the house on thousands of acres of stunning Wildlands Conservancy land, no tourists or park fees to deal with, just old fashioned exploring! There are detailed self-check in instructions. Tyler, my friend and property manager lives nearby and I'm 5 miles away at my other ranch. We respect your privacy 100% but if you need any advice, help, or have any questions we are always available by text or phone 24 hours a day. Pioneertown was built in the late 40's as a functioning movie set by Roy Rogers and the Sons of Pioneers; hundreds of Westerns have been shot here. Catch live music at Pappy and Harriets, minutes away, and go hiking and horseriding out the back door. Unfortunately you'll need a vehicle out here, it's rural! *There's a very strict maximum of 4 guests in the house as the solar and septic system cannot handle any more than that.

Guests love our location and the views leave you recharged and relaxed! Suncatcher is a place to relax, and have fun under the happy rays of the Mojave sunshine. Experience an intimate trip for two, or spread out with a group throughout the four separate sleeping areas. Enjoy striking desert views from the private backyard as you splash in the cowboy tub, gather around the fire pit, or swing in a hammock. We come out and use the house ourselves often so we have outfitted the home with lots of love and conveniences for cooking. We have a game and book library for you to enjoy during your stay- we think the desert's the perfect place for a digital detox ;) Access to the House and private Backyard with Cowboy tub :) ! Our property manager is near by and ready to assist :) The house is located between the Joshua Tree National Park entrance and Pappy & Harriet's in nearby Pioneertown—a 10-minute drive to either place. There's a market down the road, as well as a yoga studio, coffee shops, and adorable antique stores. The best way to get around is with a car - Uber and Lyft both service the house as it's on a paved road, so if you're planning on partying at The JT Saloon or Pappy's ride share will still be an option for getting back to the house. We do have security cameras at the house entrances. You are welcome to have family and friends gatherings in the space but please treat it with care - it is a special place to us we use often ourselves and not just a hotel to us.

It features a two person infrared sauna. An arcade size pac-man and all the other usual suspects like Monopoly and Twister. Don't sweat the parking, there is plenty of that, including a two car concrete parking space. So close to the park you could literally walk into,however the main west entrance is a 10 minute easy drive. @jackaloperanch_joshuatree Joshua Tree is a special place with magical, quirky characters. Other than the spectacular National Park, hike the Pioneertown Mountain Preserve, have a farm-to-table lunch at La Copine, and check out live music at world-famous Pappy & Harriet's.
