House vacation rentals in Samara Beach

We had a very good experience, and enjoyed our stay. The house is as described and the photos are very accurate. It is a peaceful surrounding, and we heard and saw a lot of howler monkeys while relaxing on the patio and swimming. We traveled with our young daughter and would just note for families with younger children that the bedroom suite is upstairs, with the entrance and 2nd bedroom on the ground level. the drive is steep but doable. overall highly recommend.

Casa Aspen defines Pura Vida! We had a wonderful stay at Casa Aspen. The villa is beautiful. There was plenty of room for my wife and I, our two adult sons and daughter in law. Easy walk to town and beach. Many excellent restaurants and sodas. We loved the outdoor shower after a day at the beach and the pool was very refreshing. Extras including bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and new washer and dryer. Sámara is a fun town. I recommend Casa Aspen.

We had a lovely stay at the House of G. Favourite things about this place were the views of the ocean, the mix of fruit trees, hearing howler monkeys, bird watching (and listening), and the modern architecture. Air conditioning was only on the upper floor bedrooms, so the upper bathrm was hot and the lower level got pretty hot too. The ceiling fans helped and so did the breeze. On the plus side, it forced us to use the outdoor living space more than we probably would have if the lower level had a/c and the pool/outdoor shower offered a quick refresher when needed. The place required a key transfer from super friendly Luis. It would have been easier and more private if there was a lock box setup, but then we wouldn’t have met Luis, so key swapped worked out just fine. We found it easier to make the quick drive to Samara than walk, to avoid walking on the narrow main road. It was easy to find on street parking in Samara. Our family of 6 (kids ages 18, 15, 13 and 9) spent 6 amazing days at Villa Las Brisas. The house has a great layout - 3 bedrooms down with the master up. It was clean upon arrival and definitely has a WOW factor when you take that first view out over the pool. So beautiful! The house was well stocked with everything we needed - toilet paper, paper towels, extra sheets and towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, shampoo & body wash. We spent most of our time outside on the deck and in the pool. There's even an outdoor shower and a poolside bathroom. AC in all bedrooms and main living area worked great. It helped to keep bedroom doors closed to maximize AC. The walk down to the beach was 12 minutes - and then we walked along the beach into the main part of town which was another 10-15 minutes. Our favorite restaurants were Coco's (nachos were so good!) and Bahia Hotel Bar and Restaurant. We also ended up at the Supermercado Rindemás for groceries. Ridley was the best host!

We had a lovely stay at Atras del Sol. The whole place was beautiful, so many hummingbirds and beautiful greenery, and it was the perfect spot to spend the hot afternoons by the pool and we felt right at home. Walkable to restaurants, super's and the beach, but if you're not up for walking there . Very friendly community. Ed was quick and friendly to communicate with.

We had the most incredible time at this gorgeous spot. Daniella was wonderful to deal with, so easy to get a hold of, attentive and great to chat with. Always had excellent suggestions and recommendations, she made our stay feel so easy and she was so accommodating. The house is very well thought out, spacious beyond what the photos show and the most amazing backyard filled with howler monkeys throughout the trees that greet you in the mornings and afternoons. Had absolutely everything you could think of needing for a relaxing adults trip. A 5 minute drive to the beach town of Samara, which was wonderful to adventure around, so many great beach bars and open market style restaurants with fantastic food! Heritage Bar was a favourite with some of the best burgers and Indian food I’ve ever had! Only 10 minutes to playa carillo. I wish we had booked this spot for longer!

We had the most incredible stay at Casa Daydream, and Anna was the perfect host! The Guanacaste house exceeded all our expectations—everything was in perfect working order, and the beds were so comfortable, making it feel like a true home away from home. We were greeted with a beautiful basket of fresh fruit upon arrival, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. It set the tone for a stay full of warmth and care. The location couldn’t have been more ideal—just far enough outside of Sámara to enjoy the peaceful sounds of the jungle and the occasional visit from howler monkeys, but still close enough to walk into town easily. It truly gave us the best of both worlds! The pool was a highlight, especially in the heat of the day. It was so refreshing, and my son spent countless joyful hours splashing and playing—he absolutely loved it. Our best stay in Costa Rica and we wish we could stay longer! Federica and Roberto have created a great space to relax on in such an exciting town. The yoga is good for all levels and is every morning. It’s a close walk to the beach and right next to plenty of restaurants all while being nicely secluded. The pools is very refreshing and private with only 4 total units on the property. Can’t wait to go back

2 adults and 3 kids, we were comfortable in the well laid out treehouse. Beach towels were provided and the outdoor shower for rinsing off sand were nice touches. Very friendly host. Location was ideal - few minute walk to the beach and center of town but out of range from music at various outdoor bars and restaurants. Was hard to leave such a beautiful place!

Nice place and great team who work there. Good breakfast options. Close to the ocean and markets/cafes. That's why I left a 5-star. But I want to draw the owner's attention to the insect problem - every night, there were a few giant flying cucarachas, ants, and a bunch of other flying animals. I understand its Costa Rica (I've lived here for two years), kept the doors closed, but insects still go inside in numbers. The bathroom has a foam plastic block instead of a window. Rooms are dark (but at least chill temperature).

This place is AMAZING! We came here on our honeymoon and were blown away by the beautiful surroundings and the attentiveness of the hosts. The breakfast provided was so nice, and felt like a feast! Even more enjoyable sitting and eating the meal in their outdoor common area, you truly feel like you’re just sitting on a mountain. It was lovely getting to know the hosts. They provided us with fun recommendations on things to do. We drove down off the mountain one of the days and took surf lessons in Samara! One evening we drove about 15 minutes down the road to eat dinner at Restaurante Teosinte (highly recommend checking that out while you’re in the area). Be sure to pay attention to their specific instructions on how to get there, those were very helpful. Especially having a 4x4 is very necessary. The hosts have created a fantastic stay in the mountains of Costa Rica and I’m so grateful they did and offer it available to be enjoyed by others! 10,000x recommend this place!

Malena's place is absolutely stunning and the perfect home base to explore Santa Teresa from. Waking up to the sunrise every morning looking out over the jungle and the mountains was magical, every detail of the place and property is beautiful, and Malena was an awesome host!

We were looking for a quiet place for a getaway - and the village and house were perfect. The highlight for our kids was the trampolinie and pool. We spent more time at the house than the beach that was very close because the kids were happy. We value communication and information, and the hosts communicated before and throughout our stay whenever we had questions. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and my wife has said, "We need to do this more often!" That's a win in my book!

Perfect hidden gem right next to awesome beach

This was the perfect place for me to stay. Esteban was extremely responsive when an issue came up. The AC was really good. Quiet area, easy to walk everywhere.

This beach cottage experience in Samara was one of the best we've ever had. The cottage is located about 350 ft from the beach and a 5 minute walk from town. You can hear the waves at high tide. Yard is mostly private, secure, and quiet with a grove of mango trees which bring the wildlife to your doorstep. We saw wild horses daily, iguanas, and howler monkeys. Short walk into town along the beach was so convenient and fun. Hotel Bahia nearby is great for drinks and dining. The home itself seems consistent with other beach properties in area in terms of construction and functionality, ie not luxurious but mostly functional and fine for anyone who jives with simple living. The only minor inconvenience is the lack of adequate refrigeration as the refrigerator couldn't hold temperature (host said this was a new problem and should be addressed soon). Electricity/plumbing fine and my small children (ages 2 and 6) appreciated the air conditioned bedroom and loved the wildlife and beach.

This is by far the best rental I have ever had in costa rica. Super spacious, quiet and great neighbors. I cannot recommend this place enough.

On this place we really felt at home, and extended a couple more days already after a few days. The studio apartment is so cozy and Thierry and his wife are so nice and very welcoming. Everything is in a short walking distance. The place is very private and quiet even though you live in the heart of Samara. Of course some livemusic plays here and then, but we just loved that and it was never too loud or too late. Amazing private small town spot, we would love coming back and recommend to others, no doubt about that!

We were looking forward a remote location to settle for some months. This was a great sanctuary to be alone and explore the empty beach. The WiFi was very good , even when other local services were unavailable. The neighbour made us delicious food when requested. A great adventure.

Casa Morpho exceeded our expectations. With a spacious kitchen and great room overlooking the back patio, pool, and backyard, as well as three comfortable bedrooms with air conditioning, the accommodations were excellent for our five-night stay in Samara. (A fourth bedroom / office adjoins the great room and does not currently have air conditioning or window blinds.) Seeing and hearing howler monkeys was awesome; they enjoyed visiting the mango tree on a couple of occasions during our stay. When we requested that a couple of light bulbs be replaced, the hosts quickly responded and took care of the issue. Our only minor gripe was that water pressure was low in the shower in the upstairs bathroom. Also, listen to the hosts when they say you should have an all-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle to get up the steep driveway! Our vehicle did not have four-wheel drive and we had to park at the top of the driveway. All in all, it was a great stay, and we would stay at Casa Morpho again.

Excellent location, cozy and modern house, we would definitely go back, as the only recommendation would be to improve the entrance gate closure!

This was such a lovely stay for my family of five. We had visited La Fortuna first and wanted to unwind at the beach for a few days, and this place was perfect. The pool and zipline were great for my kids, along with the provided beach/pool toys. The villa itself was small but cute, and the outdoor living spaces allowed us to really soak up the Costa Rica vibes. It was great to be able to sit on the upstairs deck and be able to watch the kids playing in the pool below. The villa is also super walkable to downtown, restaurants, and the beach, so we enjoyed easy access to the town. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

We had such a magical stay here. From the moment we booked, the communication with the host was seamless—responsive, kind, and super helpful. The house itself is stunning—every detail thoughtfully designed with high-end touches and impeccable taste. It’s fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, yet still feels like a peaceful retreat tucked into the jungle. We woke up to monkeys playing in the trees and fell asleep to the sounds of nature. It’s the perfect balance of privacy and proximity—just a short walk to the beach, but completely immersed in nature. Everything was spotless, and the host checked in a few times during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Would return in a heartbeat!
