Our stay at Lugar das Letras was nothing short of magical. This beautifully restored house, once an old school, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards—a true feast for the eyes. The rooms and bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, thoughtfully designed to make us feel at home. But what made our experience truly unforgettable were Carla and Paula, the two wonderful ladies who took care of every detail. Every morning, they prepared a memorable breakfast for our entire family, filled with warmth and care. Their kindness and hospitality turned our stay into a dream. We can’t wait to return to this little slice of paradise in the Douro Valley. Highly recommended!

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Make time to taste the wine that is made right on property, as well as the small local wineries. I personally found these wines tasted better than the big ones because the wines were made with more passion and heart into the art of wine making. Beautiful home, beautiful place and I hope to come back one day. Recommended to not have a large vehicle as the roads can be quite narrow.

I booked the house for family members They were there for a weekend and after their stay they told me that everything had been very good. Wide house, well equipped, very good location (with everything you need nearby), they parked easily…in general they don't have any sticks. Both Juana and her daughter are super nice and friendly. We were surprised by the house, very well decorated and impeccably clean and organized. Located in a quiet location, ideal for spending a few days of rest. The kids had a great time in the pool and with the yard, and we were even able to pick fresh tomatoes from the garden! It was a very pleasant stay.

The house was extremely clean and is very well-equipped. Everything matches the listing description. We will keep this address for a future stay in the Douro. Our stay was perfect. Teresa and Jorge are wonderful hosts, who have pampered us throughout our stay. They are always available and looking to satisfy any wishes or needs we may have. The house is really unique and special, full of history and beautiful decoration, antiques and exquisite details. Children and adults have been so comfortable with the pool, the weather, the barbecue, the outdoor furniture,... that we have enjoyed the house more than the obligatory tourist visits to the city and the area. 100% Recommended

Small stone house nicely renovated. Beautiful decor. Lots of tricks to make a small space functional. A few food items,for troubleshooting, are for sale. Typical village, plan your supplies.

Great accommodation, we had a great time at the house. A good location to make/visit nearby places. The house is even better than the listing photos. Breakfast is highly recommended.

The village is very quiet, there was movement when we were there during Holy Week and the views are beautiful, as a suggestion there is not much coverage in the accommodation, I recommend downloading series or movies beforehand in case you get bored 😅😂

The house is big and very charming, with beautiful old furniture, fireplaces, a big kitchen and a big garden (with orange trees and donkeys coming by). At the same time, everything has been renovated, so the bathrooms etc are very modern. There is a bakery and a small shop next door, but the village is very quiet. We really loved our stay in Joao's house - it was much more than expected and we would gladly come back one day! Thank you!

Very nice accommodation in a small village with a fantastic environment, a superb view of the Duro Valley. Very welcoming host who waited for us and offered small gifts. I highly recommend this listing!

We stayed with our 2 small children (2 and 4 years) on the Quinta of Tim and Saartje. And we had such a nice time! Tim and Saartje make you comfortable during the whole stay of personal welcome, always available (by phone and physically) for questions and until waving off on departure. We felt right at home! Casa Rincon is even more spacious and fun than in the pictures, everything super clean and kitchen with all the comforts! After a good night's sleep on nice beds, we could also order delicious sandwiches for breakfast! We enjoyed the space around the property, the silence and tranquility. Our sons were able to enjoy themselves for hours on the playground equipment and in the sandbox while we could enjoy the beautiful view. Nearby, there is plenty to do. Saartje and Tim know enough about that too. You do need a car, but everything is easily accessible from Quinta da Estrela. In short, really a perfect holiday address, especially with children!

It is a family house, very well maintained and recovered. The house has all the conveniences and a few more. The Host ensured an excellent communication and the lady who received us (Mrs. Silvina) overflows sympathy. We were still entitled to some miminhos, which were cherry on cake. The property was beautiful. We arrived early and they rushed to clean everything. We were offered the property with the jacuzzi, and there were all the necessary amenities for our baby: high chair, toys, bed… the jacuzzi in front of the large windows was an unforgettable experience. Central location for exploring the Douro. All our needs were met, we were offered port and local fruits. It is obvious that these people care about the well-being of their guests, we recommend it without hesitation.

It's a wonderful house, perfect for relaxing. Impeccable, clean and tidy, fully equipped. We really enjoyed and will be back.

We spent 3 unforgettable family days at the house of Postigo. We were very well received and treated during this period by Luísa, always helpful and attentive to our needs. The house is excellent for its comfort, equipment, cleaning and location. For those who like nature, tranquility, a beautiful sunset and excellent deal, this house is an excellent choice!! We will not hesitate to return!!

Very pleasant stay in a beautiful environment . Nature, horses in the fields next door... the city center of Ciudad Rodrigo nearby. Beautiful walled city very lively.
