"Comfort and joy" in a beautiful setting

We have created a luxury suite, comprising of a comfortable and spacious lounge, double bedroom and bathroom. within our home. The lounge includes sofas, table, lamps, coat stand. Our chalet is in our large, well managed garden. While it is near our house and we are happy to chat, we always respect peoples privacy. This is a very peaceful place where you can sit outside and watch the flames of the fire pit at night or stay in and have a cosy evening. Our neighbours are all of the four legged variety so some countryside noises are to be expected but the cows love to come and greet you at the wall. Parking space in garden

There was everything we could possibly need in the cottage which is so tastefully furnished including two reclining chairs in the conservatory which is where we spent most of our time. Even on the days it rained we could relax in the conservatory, reading or doing a jigsaw, and unwind. Gina and her husband are very friendly and helpful, making us feel at home. If we could give it six stars we would!

We loved staying here. It is an exceptional setting with stunning views whatever the weather. The cottage is beautifully done out inside and feels like home away from home. You can completely cut off from the outside world and relax and unwind. Absolutely worth the 5 stars and we’ll definitely be booking to go back.

We had an absolutely brilliant time here ! We are a family of four with two small kids having the freedom of camping without all of the logistics and gear made for an amazingly enjoyable couple days. We will most certainly be back! just a side note there is no electric kettle (electricity). It wasn't a problem for us, but perhaps worth knowing beforehand :)

Country cabin retreat - hideaway and relax

I booked Julia's little cabin for a few days writing retreat and it was exactly what I needed. It was a haven of calm, set in the beautiful surrounding countryside. I was able to just sit with the french window open and hear the birds chirping away or often out in the beautiful garden which was incredibly peaceful. Julia was very helpful and responded quickly when I needed a little help with the fire. The place was pristine when I arrived. It's. a good 35 min walk into town but the walk is beautiful and a nice way to take a break. It is 5 mins in the car. There is a wooden veranda outside which is perfect to do some morning yoga. All in all, exactly what I was looking for and very reasonably priced.

It is very peaceful & remote exactly as described. It is not easy to find but the detailed instructions were clear and you did feel that you had arrived after lots of twists & turns & a graded track up the hill. Tasteful decoration - lovely sitting room & more rustic kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful orchids in field next door & lovely dog walk to nearby fishing lochans

We had the most wonderful stay at Blackside Cottage and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care and attention Andrew and Elizabeth put into making the place welcoming, comfortable, and beautifully presented. The cottage itself is immaculate – stylishly decorated, cozy, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen was a real highlight – far better stocked than most places we’ve stayed – and the log-burning fire made our evenings incredibly relaxing. The setting is just magical. Peaceful, private, and surrounded by stunning countryside, it was the perfect place to switch off and unwind. The freestanding bath was a real luxury – perfect for a long soak after a day of exploring. Andrew and Elizabeth were brilliant hosts. Everything was smooth from booking to check-out. This place is a real gem!
