Ideally located to enjoy the North Yorkshire moors, Deepdale Farm's cabin accommodation is situated on a horse farm in the most stunning location over looking open countryside. Peacefully positioned on the farm to enjoy your own privacy, the cabin gives you a cosy living room/bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and two masionnette single beds (please note the access to this is small and only suitable for children and small adults) where you can holiday away from home. On winter nights snuggle up and enjoy the electric log burning stove and TV with DVD player or on summer nights BBQ outside on the patio. We are just a mile away from kirkbymoorside which has everything you need - cafes - pubs - shops - take away. Just 3 miles up the road is a quaint village Hutton Le hole with a chocolate factory and folk museum and ice cream shops. Perfect for walking too. 7 miles east is Pickering which has the North Yorkshire Moors railway where you can have a delightful day out on the steam train to Whitby at the coast. Time it right and you will see the regatta or goth week! Dalby forest is just 12 miles east which is fantastic for Segway trails, mountain biking and go ape. You can spend days here. If you fancy a bit of horse riding only 3 miles east is Friars Hill Riding stables in Sinnington. For some fine dining we have the mitchellin star restaurant in Harome - The Star Inn or the Feversham Arms in Helmsley which has the fabulous vebenna Spa - well worth booking into.
We are two miles from Hutton Le hole which is a picturesque village with great local pub. We are also only 10 minutes from Pickering which has the North Yorkshire moors railway station and lots of lovely shops and walks. York is also 40 minutes drive away as is Whitby and Scarborough. There are also lots of lovely walks on our doorstep. Please see our travel guide book on here.

  • An absolutely beautiful cabin, picturesque and just lovely. So warm and inviting. Charlotte and James really have put so much thought into the space. The landscape is breathtaking and the farm animals just made our stay. Our little boy loved his little bedroom and the sofa bed was so comfortable. We loved going out for the day to come back to the warm and cosy cabin! We can’t wait to come back again!

This cottage, in the village of Wrelton near Pickering, was a 19th century blacksmith's forge and has now been renovated into a delightful living space complete with fully-equipped kitchen, large living room area, bathroom with walk-in shower and a cosy bedroom located on a mezzanine floor which is reached via a spiral staircase. The Old Forge offers a great location for a relaxing stay in beautiful North Yorkshire.
Inside, within the lounge area, you will find a sofa, armchair and a widescreen TV. There is a dining table and chairs. In the kitchen, you’ll find an oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge as well as other equipment you will need for cooking. The bathroom has a shower, heated towel rail as well as all other necessities. The bedroom, on the mezzanine floor, has a king-size bed. The cottage is equipped with an underfloor heating system. Original features of the blacksmith’s forge have been maintained, including horseshoes, window and a beautiful stone floor. The Old Forge can be accessed easily by car or bike with space for parking outside it. A short drive will take you to Pickering, Helmsley and Malton. The North York Moors National Park and the coastal town of Whitby are also not far away. The North York Moors Railway can take you by steam train from nearby Pickering to Whitby. The train travels through 24 miles of North Yorkshire's amazingly beautiful scenery. The cottage is a great location for walks and cycling through stunning countryside. We are happy to help our guests with directions or finding anything they may require after arriving in Wrelton. Another bonus is that the Old Forge is only a two minute walk from the village pub, The Buck Inn. Wrelton is on the 128 bus route to Helmsley (west) and Scarborough (east).
  • Olwen’s cottage is very clean, cosy and welcoming. There were thoughtful touches on arrival and the communication was great. The cottage is in a quiet village but good access to Dalby Forest, Pickering and Whitby. There is a great pub down the road as well. Would definitely visit again.

  • What an amazing place, full of charming character and history. The cottage is presented beautifully, with thoughtful touches that really exceed standards experienced from other Air BnB’s. Olwen was incredibly friendly, helpful and informative. The perfect place for a break away and would highly recommend!

  • We had a wonderful stay in this cosy little cottage. It gave us a real taste of Yorkshire life for a few days! Everything was lovely and Olwen was extremely hospitable!

    Robert2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • I selected the Forge at Wrelton because we wanted a base for a long weekend between York and Whitby for my partners birthday. If you are looking to stay in this area (which is beautiful) you have to stay at Olwen’s place. Her communication was great and the property was easy to find. Inside it was just perfect for a couple, beautifully appointed and decorated. It was immaculately clean with everything you could want and Olwen had thought of everything from finishing touches like fresh flowers and leaving a couple of special treats as I had told her in advance we were celebrating a birthday. Don’t think twice, just book it! You won’t be disappointed. Thank you again Olwen!

We live in Fadmoor, right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, between the beautiful dales of Farndale and Bransdale. Great for hiking and mountain biking, or sightseeing; the famous mediaeval city of York is about 25 miles to the South. The accommodation is an Annex to our house, with its own entrance opening on to a utility area with downstairs toilet. There are two bedrooms, a separate shower room and a living/dining area. We only rent the Annex to a single party.
We charge per bedroom, so if you only require one, you'll still have the place to yourself. The basic charge is for two guests using one bedroom. If you need the other bedroom for more guests, please add 50% to the fee. If you have an additional child, we can provide another fold up bed at a modest extra cost. You're welcome to use the facilities in the utility room which is part of the annex: sink; fridge/freezer; washing machine; tumble dryer; microwave. Tea, coffee, milk etc will be provided, as well as cereals for a light breakfast. The living space comprises a large room with patio doors opening on to the gravel drive. There's a very comfortable sofa and chair at one end and a large dining table and chairs at the other. All bed linen and towels are included and there will be soap, shower gel, shampoo etc for you to use. The shower is electric, so there is plenty of hot water available after a hard day walking or cycling! If you do need to clean of boots or mountain bikes, there's an outside tap and hose. There's ample parking on the drive for several cars. If something isn't included in the listing, please just talk to us when you arrive and we'll help as much as we can.
If you love hiking or mountain biking, this is the place for you! The National Park boundary runs through the middle of Fadmoor and the edge of the moors is just to the North. We can help with suggestions for routes and lend you maps. Farndale is world famous for the wild daffodils which flower in the spring and people travel from all over the world to walk through the dale. The coast is also about a 45 minute drive away; the well known town of Whitby and the Yorkshire Jurassic coast are within easy reach. There is a pub / restaurant about 10 minutes walk away and two Michelin starred restaurants a short drive away, the Black Swan at Oldstead owned by the famous Banks brothers and the Star at Harome. Kirkbymoorside is a few minutes drive and has small supermarkets open 'til late 7 days a week in case you run out of gin!

Kirkbymoorside is a small market town and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England, about 25 miles north of York, midway between Pickering and Helmsley, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Kirkbymoorside is a treasure trove for art and antique-hunters: home to the one of Yorkshire’s quirkiest, friendliest art galleries, Bils & Rye, and also the fortnightly Ryedale Auctions, attracting collectors from across the world. Nearby is the open studio of international glass artists, Gillies Jones, and the town’s pride and joy is its award-winning 200 year-old Brass Band, a star at local events. The town’s top attraction is Ryedale Folk Museum, with its historic ‘village’ of homes, gardens, workshops and stores – and even a witch’s hovel - providing a unique glimpse into our rural past from the Iron Age to the 1960s. There’s also a museum, animals, orchards, vintage vehicles, a lively programme of events, and nearby workshops including Greenwood Crafts, and the Chocolate Factory. Kirbymoorside’s market square boasts award-winning, independent shops, and a 760-year-old weekly market that’s still the lifeblood of its community, a friendly place to catch the gossip. It’s also the starting point for one of the most popular and gruelling races in the Yorkshire calendar, the Kirkbymoorside 10k.

  • A beautifully presented property in a lovely rural location, just a short distance from several lovely towns and many scenic walks. Lots of well thought out extra touches, we stayed in the winter but no doubt the garden would also be lovely to relax in during the summer. We had a very relaxing stay and would love to return again in the future.

    Amelia2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Stuart and Sher are great hosts, they provided excellent personal touches and provisions that really made you feel welcomed into the Vergers cottage and their home. Throughout our week stay, we were helped, aided and continually assisted with any questions, queries or just general chat on fauna and flora ! We cannot emphasise how much we enjoyed our stay with Stuart and Sher at the Vergers Cottage, we are certainly going to visit again !!! Thank you both soon much.

    Jason2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • this place is the quintessence of the english cosy cottage. Stuart is an incredible host with a lot of attention like fresh flowers, wine, cake and fruits for our arrival. We recommend this place to everybody who wish to live in that wonderful countryside. thank you so much

    Jacques2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Vergers Cottage to be greeted by Stuart who was so kind in showing us around and explaining everything that we would need to know. The cottage itself is absolutely stunning, everything is of such high quality and good taste, the kitchen has everything you may need (what a joy to have really sharp knives and beautiful china), the bed is extremely comfortable and huge and there was the added pleasure of a really good shower. Stuart had left us so many delicious treats, a Yorkshire Curd tart, fresh bread, wine the list goes on, I think they must be the most thoughtful hosts we have ever met. We really enjoyed chatting to both of them and can highly recommend the Cottage to any potential visitors. You really wouldn’t be disappointed.

    Marie2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really cosy but extremely spacious cottage. It is well appointed and set in a beautiful garden on the edge of a very quiet village. Once it gets dark the only light that you can see from the window is the moon. All the basics - and much more - are provided, and to a very high standard. Stuart was there to greet us and the extra touches that he provided, including wine and cake, made us feel very at home. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

    Iain2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time at the cottage and cannot recommend it enough. It was blissfully quiet and the perfect get-a-way. Everywhere was spotless and we had everything we might need. There were so many lovely touches and scrummy goodies on arrival. Great value for perfect retreat from life!

    Kirsty2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • In a little quiet village, perfect for the North Yorkshire moors and Malton/Castle Howard. Garden was large and delightful, packed full of wildlife and even some cheeky bunnies munching on the flowers. Instructions were spot on and parking was ample. It’s a fully functioning home complete with nice touches like flowers and local eggs. There is a double bedroom, full kitchen, large bathroom with feature bath and a large living room with views over the garden and a pull out sofa. Highly recommended.

    Fraser2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Even better than it looked online: what joy. Sher greeted us with freshly baked scones, eggs from their own hens, and a bottle of wine and we knew we were in the right place. It's a wonder we ever left. It's obvious Sher and Stuart have put a huge amount of thought into every aspect of the place - couldn't find a fault if we tried! A great location for exploring the area but be warned: once you've sat in that garden on a summer evening with a glass of wine you may never want to go anywhere else ever again.

Attractions and nearby amenities The North York Moors is a vast expanse of heather moorland, with rivers flowing through the upland all the way to the North Sea, cutting out verdant green dales. This is a walker’s paradise, and mountain biking, horse riding and even open-air swimming are all on the menu. One of the best ways to see the North York Moors is by train. Take the heritage North Yorkshire Moors Railway to travel through 24 miles of this unique landscape and get to experience what it was like to travel by steam. The railway calls at the town of Pickering, where you’ll find a medieval castle, a museum and a stunning Saxon church, as well as contemporary boutiques and independent eateries. Pickering is a vibrant destination that is well-known as a hub for the performing arts, with three theatres in the town. If you’re a fan of Dracula or all things Gothic, a trip to Whitby is a must. This is where the fictional Count first came ashore, but there are plenty of other reasons to come here too. With narrow, picturesque streets, a busy harbour and superb fish ‘n’ chips, you could make a day of it here. The Yorkshire coastline has some big-hitting tourist attractions like Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay. But just about any destination on this beautiful coastline is worth a visit. The beaches are long, golden and much less crowded than some further south, and the swell coming from the North Sea creates good conditions for surfers. Bright beach huts, donkey rides, fish and chips and splendid Victorian architecture, Scarborough ticks all the boxes for a superb day out at the seaside. Finally, if you’d like to enjoy some retail therapy, see some magnificent architecture or find out what it was like to be invaded by Vikings, don’t miss a visit to York. The Minster cathedral is stunning, the Jorvik Viking museum is an all-immersive experience, and there always seems to be a festival going on. Honeysuckle Cottage has its own garden area it is a 2 bedroom, sleeps 3 and has a cosy living room with a log burning stove. We have taken care to preserve the beamed ceilings and traditional cottage features in this beautiful, single-storey, semi-detached property. Within the North York Moors National Park, the setting of these cottages is just absolutely stunning.
There are great woodland trails for long walks before returning back to these cosy cottages just 6 miles from the market town of Pickering
Cropton is a village with an award winning pub and brewery and walking in the National Park
  • Andrew and Julie were fantastic hosts and the accommodation was excellent! We had everything we needed to stay warm and enjoy our stay in the area. Our extended family has been staying in the area for new year for over 20 years and this is the first time we’ve made use of a cottage at Beck House as we were outgrowing our usual haunt. We’ve just booked the entire family in to multiple cottages next year as we’ve been so happy with the hospitality and facilities.

  • Lovely cottage, stunning location and great for access to the local moors for walking. Great value for money

  • Andrew's Breck cottages are absolutely lovely historic cottages. The garden space was perfect for our little Rosie, and there was penty of room in the cozy cottage for us. And we were able to save a little money cooking meals at the cottage. We will definitely be back!

  • We had a wonderful Easter break staying in Rose Cottage. We had a warm welcome from Andrew who showed us around and was happy to help with information about the area. The cottage was cosy, well equipped and very clean. Good WiFi, enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog and such a peaceful location. Short drive to Pickering where we could get the steam train to Whitby. Lots of great walks, pubs and pretty villages nearby. Would highly recommend!

forestviewcropton.com is set deep into the beautiful, tranquil forests of Sutherland, North Yorkshire, nestles Forest View Cropton - a handcrafted, bespoke-furnished woodland retreat for those with discerning taste looking for a secluded, luxury break far from the ordinary. You will find yourself quickly immersed in the wilds and wonders of nature: deer, pheasants, hares, badgers, owls, stoats, even a mating pair of beavers.
You might be surprised to learn that the North York Moors is one of the most wooded of England's National Parks. Woodland and forest covers about 22 percent of the National Park – that’s over 300 square kilometers of trees – so it’s of huge importance. Woodland also clothes many of the valley sides, giving the landscape a distinctive character. In the native woodlands, oak, ash, birch and rowan thrive, while shrubs such as hazel and hawthorn provide the understorey. Large broadleaf woods are rare but significant woods are still found in the lower parts of some valleys such as the Esk, or at Roxby near Staithes and Mulgrave Woods near Sandsend. But broadleaved or mixed woodland only accounts for around a third of the woodland in the North York Moors. Sutherland Cottage Lodge is the brainchild and passion/design project of husband-and-wife team Clive and Tracy Ainley, with their young Daughter Evie. With backgrounds in IT, property development and hospitality, the family launched their ambition to create “a woodland escape and haven of tranquility” in the substantial grounds of their own home; to share their own deep love of nature and a landscape that constantly varies and excites: “Forest View Cropton is our true labor of love. We are blessed to live where we do, with our extended woodland family of wild and domestic animals. We wanted, above everything, to create a special, unique place of tranquility for those who not only appreciate the good and aesthetic things in life but, first and foremost, the natural world. The lodge is our realization of a dream. We hope it is for you too. We know your pets are part of the family, with this in mind dogs are welcome. Up to 4 dogs depending on size and agreement in place before hand. There's an additional cost of £15 per dog per day.
As you approach the winding drive into Sutherland Forest towards the Lodge, you will find yourself quickly immersed in the wilds and wonders of nature: deer, pheasants, hares, badgers, owls, stoats, even a mating pair of beavers - and many other animal species - create a unique sound and visual landscape to enhance your stay. Even a roaming peahen has bred, nested and made Forest View Cropton grounds her forever home! Children will be enthralled and amused by the extended family of scratching hens, comical pygmy goats, by Trevor the Pony and Bruce, the family’s ebullient, handsome, people-loving wolf dog, who create so much of the character of the land outside your door.

Welcome to Keld Knowle, the farm was built in the 1780's and the Scaling family have farmed here for fifty years. It is a busy place with 100 dairy cows, crops, tractors, beef cattle, calves, two ponies, cats and a crazy dog. We have two bedrooms with far reaching views, both have pitch pine panelling, one is en-suite. Breakfast included. It's a 5 minute walk to the pub and there are many other walking paths from the farm into the National Park. 5 mins drive to Pickering, 45min to York, Whitby.
Keld Knowle is a family home, the bedrooms are located up stairs in the farmhouse. The rooms are large, airy with south facing windows that catch the sunshine. Teas and coffee facilities are provided in the room, there is a lounge downstairs with table and chairs for your use.
The farm is situated down a private drive near the village of Wrelton. We are 2.5 miles from Pickering. It is a 5minute walk to the pub in the village which serves bar meals. The Fox and Hounds at Sinnington is 1 mile and has a very good restaurant.
  • Off the beaten track, full of character, local knowledge. All cliche review points but really go check for yourself. • Short drive to Pickering and 3 great pubs to pop to that are even closer. Fox & Hounds being the closest and the favorite. Was great staying on a working farm and Karen’s hospitality was warm and super welcoming. We stayed in the farmhouse in two olde worlde style bedrooms overlooking the farm fields. Tea, cakes and cooked breakfasts were spot on and taken in the quaint dining room. We were there for Wartime weekend and found easy parking in the village green during the height of the event.

  • What can I say other than you should 100% book this B&B! Such lovely, welcoming people and what a beautiful room to spend the night in. I was treated to a lovely cup of tea upon arriving and fresh milk from the dairy farm with my lovely breakfast in the morning. Karen and her family were all so welcoming and helpful and the room was immaculate and decorated beautifully. I've never used such a lovely bathroom! Views from the bedroom window across the countryside were gorgeous. Only wish I'd had a longer stay.

  • Karen and her family were great hosts. She was very quick with communication and the booking went very smoothly. The farm was a working dairy farm which we found very interesting. The full English breakfast was absolutely delicious. Karen went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and welcome.

Number 65 dates back to 1780 and has recently been modernised, retaining original character whilst providing every modern convenience. Downstairs is a modern country cottage style kitchen which opens out into a spacious social area with wood burner and ample seating for five. French doors in the kitchen open out to a private garden. A spacious and separate dining room completes the downstairs accommodation. Upstairs there are three bedrooms. and a bathroom with walk-in shower.
Nestled in the heart of Kirkbymoorside's conservation area, Number 65 dates back to 1780. Once part of a thatched animal barn, Number 65 has been reconfigured and modernised over the centuries and now is one of three cottages. The most recent renovations have only just been completed and have created a retreat that oozes character but provides every modern convenience. Downstairs is a modern country cottage style kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge-freezer. This merges into a spacious social area with ample seating for five, exposed beams, log burner and a wide-screen free-view TV. French doors in the kitchen open out to a secluded, south facing garden and ample outside seating and BBQ are provided. A spacious and separate dining room completes the downstairs accommodation. With exposed beams, a period fireplace and subdued lighting, this room provides a relaxing environment. Upstairs there are three bedrooms. The biggest has a double bed, exposed brickwork and low ceilings. Co-coordinating bedroom furniture provides plenty of storage. The second bedroom has a small double, sufficient storage including a dressing table and overlooks the rear garden. The third bedroom is in the loft-space and accessed via a second staircase. The bathroom has a wonderful walk-in shower benefiting from a high-power rainfall shower head. Please note there is no bath at Number 65. Number 65 is furnished with everything you need for a relaxing and memorable break. This includes WiFi and Bluetooth radio. From Number 65, a very short stroll leads you to Kirkbymoorside town centre and all the amenities it has to offer. Kirkbymoorside really is a wonderful and traditional Yorkshire market town, retaining the quaintness and quirkiness of its historical development. Situated on the edge of the North York Moors it provides a perfect base from which to explore the moors and the spectacular east coast. Regrettably pets are not permitted at Number 65 with the exception of Assistance Dogs. Wide opening French doors and a level approach and level ground floor make the property accessible but please note there are no downstairs toilet facilities and access to the first floor is via a domestic staircase.
Kirkbymoorside is traditional market town, with small, local shops and a wide choice of pubs and take-away restaurants. Situated on the edge of the North York Moors there are many wonderful places to explore.
  • Spacious, comfortable house with all amenities, very close to the centre of Kirkbymoorside.

Applestore is a luxury 5 star gold property which ideally sleeps 4, but it can sleep 6 as there is a pull out sofabed in the master bedroom. This quaint country cottage nestled in the Middleton Hall grounds is the perfect harmony of old world charm and modern comfort. It boasts a private garden and private off road parking, as well as access to a lockable bike storage. Situated on the western border of the thriving market town that is Pickering, one can access the town by a short 20 minute walk along quiet neighbourhood streets, or one can drive or take the bus there in a matter of minutes. Middleton Village itself has a wonderful pub serving food and drink, a petrol station, a convenience store, a post office and a tea room. Entering the cottage, take a couple of steps down to a country-style kitchen with original quarry tiled floor, farmhouse table and seating for six. This fully equipped kitchen enables you to prepare comprehensive meals or simply enjoy the cream tea upon arrival! Granite work surfaces complement the modern appliances in a traditional space. Off the kitchen, you will find a spacious sitting room with wood-burning stove, natural flagstone floor, oak features and a Georgian toilet converted from the original earth closet, to meet modern expectations. Upstairs, there is a large master bedroom with prominent beams, a king-sized bed and a relaxing sofa. The newly built bathroom set on stilts over the garden provides a light and airy feel with wide windows looking out onto bird feeders in the trees outside. Our guests tell us this bathroom with its large bath and low level lighting affords lovely romantic evenings! Alternatively, the modern shower set to one side offers a choice of luxury. The second bedroom is a twin bedroom and is in the old apple store with entry through a low door. At the far end of the room is an attractive separate bathroom with bath and hand shower, toilet and basin. In each bedroom, you will find high quality cotton sheets and contemporary textiles, large soft bath towels and designer soap. The cottage has its own ‘secret’ walled garden with table, furniture, and barbeque. The area has been extended with the new bathroom work to exploit the suntrap opportunities and to encourage the wild birds. Our guests have use of our garage for bikes and hosepipes for cleaning, as well as an outdoor washing line. You are welcome to share our large mature garden most of the year and we do not expect you join us in its weeding! Beyond is the shared paddock with trampoline, live willow house and fruit trees. The grass is cut to form a series of paths through the wild flowers and tall grasses. Beyond is the wooded area with a variety of wildlife. We would like to keep Applestore Cottage and its furnishings to a high standard for the enjoyment of all our guests. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot have pets or smoking. Our cottages are family friendly and we can provide cots and high chairs.
The Applestore Cottage used to be exactly that: the old Applestore for Middleton Hall, which had a large apple orchard out back. The twin bedroom still has the original low door, as this was the small room where the apples were all stored until they ripened. The cottage was fully renovated by the owners back in 2010, when they added the legendary floating bathroom, which is supported on stilts above the nature of the estate below.
Middleton is a beautiful little village just west of the busy market town of Pickering. The location is perfect as you're close enough to walk into town, but you're far enough away that the nights are quiet and you can simply enjoy the beauty of nature in North Yorkshire.
  • Fantastic cottage, beautifully decor. Great unexpected touches with wine and chocolate not to mention breakfast food. Superb

  • Fantastic property, it is as special as it looks! Easy comms and check in with Meg, highly recommended!

    Paul2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Meg's place. The cottage is really cute and clean and has the most amazing ensuite. It is situated within a walled garden and it felt like a really special location. We were very comfortable there and the garden was great for the kids. We didn't meet Meg but she responded quickly online and was available if we needed her. She also gave us lots of tips for the local area. Middleton is not far from Pickering and many other lovely places, such as the moors, Whitby, Dalby Forest, Runswick Bay and Ampleforth, to name just a few. There was so much to do in the area and we were busy during our whole stay and might need to come back to see more! Thanks for a great stay, Meg.

    Dorothy2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • A real gem. We spent a week in the cottage and we really felt at home. Meg has been very helpful and everything at the cottage was just perfect.

  • Beautiful cottage, perfect for couples and families. We stayed in February with our 5 month old and it was perfect for our needs. The wood burning fire was brilliant for the snowy weather. Would definitely recommend.

  • This is the perfect place to stay for exploring the North Yorkshire area, both the rural surroundings and the coast, particularly if walking or cycling. The cottage was cosy and very comfortable with every amenity. It was particularly good to have some essential food items (and a bottle of red wine) provided. The beds were very comfortable, the furniture was a lovely mix of antique and modern, befitting the cottage. Special mention should be made of the wood burning stove in the sitting room and the luxurious en-suite bathroom to the main bedroom. Meg was an attentive host who kept in regular contact throughout the booking and whilst we were at the cottage. She managed to sort out a small problem we had with a key (entirely our own fault!) promptly. All in all an excellent experience.

    Sue2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely two night stay in the former Applestore cottage. The cottage is very traditional and has lovely traditional shutters on all windows and a stone floor at ground floor level. The new bathroom extension is stunning with an enormous modern bath. The host was excellent and provided us with loads of information on the surrounding area including attractions to see and places to go for dinner and drinks. The cottage is easy to find but in a very quiet location which we enjoyed. We would definitely return again.
