Historic North Kohala . . . Seclude

Kohala Guest Suite is located in historic North Kohala, in the ancient ahupua'a division of Puuepa. Surrounded by several na pu'u (volcanic cinder cones), the hillside setting has unobstructed views of Haleakala, Maui across the Alenuihaha Channel. Bordering Parker Ranch on the west, the south and east sides are also undeveloped, giving the vacation rental seclusion and privacy. Puuepa is the site of the ancient Mo'okini Heiau (temple) whose origins date back 1,500 years ago to the first human migration from the Marquesas. Puuepa is also the birthplace of King Kamehameha the Great who conquered and unified the Hawaiian Islands. Decades later, St. Damien became the pastor of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church before taking on his destined work of charity at the Kalaupapa Leper Colony on Molokai. We at Hawaii Volcano Coffee Company welcome you to stay at our beautiful studio cottage overlooking one of our many organic coffee orchards. We are located between two of the Big Islands most iconic areas; Hawaii Volcano National Park and Hilo's beaches, approximately both a 20-minute drive from the studio. Our road to cottage can be rough,it is old blacktop that need to be replaced. We are asking county for help but no response.Road be adventurous , but cottage is worth it. E Komo Mai (Welcome)

This lovely hale li'i (tiny house in Hawaiian) is a perfect private little get away place! The place is fully furnished and has a kitchenette complete with a single burner induction cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, blender and toaster. There is no oven but the large lanai (veranda) is fully equipped for barbecueing and lounging around! The coup de grâce is the bathroom shower which is very spacious with a skylight and features a custom tile mosaic mural created by the host!

The Sunshine Daydream Ohana is a tiny, no frills cabin that accommodates one person only. 40 miles north of the Kona airport in a quiet, safe, rural neighborhood. Ocean view and amazing star gazing, 3 miles to the beach. The SD Ohana has a mini-fridge, microwave, air conditioning, TV (local channels only) and wifi (can be spotty). You will need a car. There is free parking on the property. This area is not regularly serviced by Lyft/Uber. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
