  • An amazing little place to stay at! There were so many special little touches in this little home! The weather was not cooperating for our planned hike on Rainier so we opted to stay in and relax! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to just kick up our feet and enjoy the sound of the wind and rain! We will surely be back!

  • Lovely setting. Out of the way. Cottage is cozy with sizable bedroom. Totally relaxing.

  • Vivian's cottage is a cozy quiet space, with a well stock snack cupboard, bathroom necessities, and a cozy bed, and a whole lot of nice-ities!

    Melody2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Vivian's place is well maintained, nicely furnished and well equipped with many thoughtful extras provided. The location is rural and would make a good base camp for Mount Rainier National Park, a stop over between Seattle and Portland or (as in my case) a quiet place for some down time, writing, etc. Check-in/check-out and communication was easy. I highly recommend Vivian's place.

    Clint2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Theresa and Dan were great hosts! Lovely space, incredible views and ideally located. Thx for everything!

    Emily2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Dear Theresa and Dan, When we were originally planning our get away, it's was going to be in Leavenworth. But with it being booked up, for Christmas and New Year's, and the longer drive. We decided to check on other options. Rita was saying she hadn't been to Mt. Rainier in 30+ year's. That's when I found your wonderful B&B. Your home and the B&B room was amazing and so relaxing. And that was our main reason for our trip, to relax and reconnect. Especially with the busyness of our schedules. Everything was perfect, from the veiws, the location, the wonderful amenities, and the cozy decor to include the beautiful artwork painted by Dan himself, It made our trip, like I said "Perfect". Happy New year, to you both. Sincerely Joe and Rita.

Rustic log cabin built by homesteaders in 1901. Lovingly restored w/ modern conveniences & comfort. ENTIRE 750 SQUARE FOOT CABIN is yours to enjoy. Snuggle by the fire, read a book or visit area attractions. Resident wildlife (deer, rabbits, hawks, eagles, blue heron, owls, coyotes & occasional elk) share the wooded 52 acre property. Cabin is nestled next to a seasonal pond w/ private yard & outdoor BBQ area to relax & enjoy nature. 10 min. to Yelm, w/in 60 min. to Mt. Rainier, Olympia & Tacoma
Admire the hand-hewn Douglas Fir logs made from this original homestead property in 1901. Snuggle up to the gas fireplace or relax in the cozy living area. Listen to the peaceful hooting sounds of owls who reside in the surrounding old growth trees. Watch deer graze outside your window. A seasonal pond is just steps away from the back door where ducks and blue heron thrive. A great place to unwind, unplug and get back to nature. (Intentionally no TV provided to help you unplug!) Well appointed with your comfort in mind. There are some cosmetic items (trim, landscaping, loft area, etc.) that are still a part of our ongoing renovation and restoration of the property, but all the important things are fully functioning and completed (kitchen, bath, heating). Please be patient as we lovingly restore this amazing piece of history. Your experience is most important to us and we will continuely be improving and restoring our cabin in the woods.
PLEASE realize this is a rural setting but Yelm is ONLY 10-12 minutes away (5.8 miles). Yes, I've had reviews that commented we were "away from town" (as a bad thing) and rated accordingly!! The good news is, our area is quiet, tranquil and secluded on a 52 acre property with few neighbors. Owner's main house is located on property. Yelm is a town with about 6,000 population with grocery, cinemas, restaurants, golf course, parks and a community theatre. Less than 90 minutes to Seattle and Mt. St. Helen's and 60 minutes to Mt. Rainier National Park. Only 45-50 minutes to Tacoma, museums, Olympia (capitol of Washington), Puget Sound water activities, Wolf Haven and Northwest Trek. 15 minutes to Deschutes Falls hiking, Lawrence Lake and the Chehalis Trail for hiking and biking. There are Antique Malls in Tenino (20 min) and Centralia (40 min), RedWind Casino (20 min) and much more, just ask and I can give recommendations for whatever your interests are.
  • I hope to return to Yelm for work and staying at the Owl's Nest will be a must!

    Trista2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy, cozy & clean! The Owl's Nest is so peaceful & offers everything you need to feel at home. Terese & Leo are friendly, laid back and very accommodating. I would book again!

    Trista2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a magical little oasis in Washington. It was even more than we expected. Every need was met and we were as comfortable as can be for our stay. Therese was a great host who was available anytime we needed. They left us with a warm welcome, information on the area and even a stocked kitchen. What a great quiet space to make memories with a loved one.

    Dani2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cozy little place tucked away in the woods. A great place to center oneself and reconnect with loved ones.

We are located between both highways, providing a no-detour/out of your way stay on your way to Mt. Rainier. This is a rural area with 5 acre property parcels providing a quiet setting among the trees. Pizza delivery available and burgers and diners in town (local eateries only except one Subway). • I have stayed at Georg's place multiple times during my trips to the South Puget Sound. Georg is a fantastic communicator and makes it so easy for me. I love that! His home is so beautifully decorated and has become a home away from home for my business trips. His dog Twinkles is super friendly and just loves people. 👍

    Jim2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Georg's place is the reason why airbnb should be on top of anyone list. His home was clean, comfortable and reminds me of a museum. The art work and his collections of art are amazing. I had a wonderful sleep and did not want to leave the cloud like bed! Communication was prompt and checking in was a breeze. Twinkles and his cute cat are extra bonuses. I highly recommend and next time I'm in town, I'll be sure to revisit.

  • This house was very easy to make feel like home! Small kitchen, but supplied with everything we needed to cook - which in turn made it feel even more like home. The hot tub was undeniably a great asset to the cabin too :)

  • Betsy’s cabin was great for four women getting out into the woods for NYE. Great location (~10 min from Mount Rainier NP), the hot tub and fire pit were super relaxing, and her place was super clean. Would definitely recommend for anyone trying to away for a little bit.

  • Cozier even than the photos seem, this cabin was everything we wanted and more for our romantic winter get away. From the view of the mountains from the outdoor hot tub, to the gas fireplace and loft bedroom (which felt like sleeping in a tree house); we can't wait to go back.

Enjoy waterfront serenity! Boating, swimming, fishing, and wildlife watching at your front door. Cozy and unique, we love our vacation property for it's close proximity, yet the feel of being away from it all. In addition to the lake and the private dock, the house is close to many other activities. Northwest Trek is 5 minutes away and Mt. Rainier National park is about 45. Well equipped and comfortable, the perfect get away!
Enjoy 1 acre of wildlife with 70 feet of of waterfront. Located on Lake Tanwax, which is one of Washington's great fishing lakes, you will have the opportunity to see nature up close and personal. The water is literally feet from the front door. Deer and other wildlife regularly wander through the property, while fish and birds abound. You are 5 minutes from Northwest Trek, 10 minutes from Pioneer Farm (authentic farm experience for kids), 45 minutes from Mount Rainier National Park, and the ski hills can be reached in under 2 hours. The house is gated and private, and guests will have a very cozy stay in this 1100 square foot home with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a pullout couch. The kitchen is well stocked and has a full size dishwasher, stove and refrigerator set up for your comfort. If you are like us, you will love sitting on the private dock and enjoying nature or taking a refreshing dip in the water. The summer water temperatures are excellent, and we spend all day in the water and dry in the sun. If you have a boat and want to use the property for boating, then come on down. There is a public boat launch on the lake and you can moor your boat by the dock. Motor boats are allowed on the lake.
The house is private and you will need to access by car. If you are looking for restaurants, or city life, the little town of Eatonville is 15 minutes south on Hwy 161. The town of Graham is 15 minutes north on Hwy 161, which is where you will find grocery stores (Safeway) and other amenities. Puyallup is only 20 minutes away from the house, which is where you will find many restaurants, movie theaters, and any other entertainment type things that you would expect from a local city.
  • This cottage by the lake is absolutely amazing! We had such a wonderful time on Lake Tanwax. It is such a beautiful lake and we had so much swimming, kayaking and floating around. We also fished using the poles that were provided in the garage and had so much fun! We caught two fish and one was a large rainbow trout over 16 inches long, but unfortunately he got a way at the last second! The dock is perfect for fishing, floating and jumping off! My daughter enjoyed the diving boards and even jumped off of the super high one! The house is beautiful inside and it is so serene to be steps away from the water. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and made smores! This place can not be missed! Thank you Aaron and Kari! : )

    Shauna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean cute and quiet. Lovely view if the Lake and nature. Everything just as advertised. Will come back for another stay

  • 5 star and lots of fun!!!

    Natalya2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The goal was quality family time & this place exceeded expectations for things to do together! We fished, paddleboated, swam, bbq'd, visited NW Trek & Mt.Ranier. Everyone had a blast and the home was perfect for our family of 4. The hosts had beautiful flowers planted outside, excellent landscaping, gorgeous view. Couldn't ask for more! The home was cozy, stocked with games & family movies, had fishing stuff for the kids and a paddle boat which they took to Rainbow RV Resort for ice cream! I love lake Tanwax, and Aaron & Kari's place is wonderful.

    Ivy2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to enjoy a lake, this is it. It is RIGHT on the water. My kids had a wonderful time swimming and paddleboarding. My husband fished all weekend long. We had a wonderful weekend making great family memories here. (**Just don't forget life jackets for the little ones because the water is deep at the end of the dock)

    Jennifer2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed a month at Kari and Aaron’s cottage on the lake, and had a wonderful, peaceful and quiet stay. The lake house is clean, spacious and open with both windows and a porch across the front- right on the water. There is a full size well stocked kitchen, laundry facilities, good, hot water in the bathroom and comfortable furniture. Kari responds quickly to any inquiries and was a great host. My husband enjoyed fishing from the dock and my favorite was watching the wildlife, especially the eagles. Thank you to Kari and Aaron for a wonderful stay and we look forward to future visits.

    Elizabeth2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • There's a security gate with you own code. Once you get back there it will open up nice and beautiful. The water is crystal clear and if you get up early enough in the morning you'll see the fish eating the bugs off the top of the water. There's washer dryer fishing poles place to go swimming or for kids to just waddle in the water. Beautiful porch it stretches around the front of the house it's kind of Rustic Inn old Country but it's exactly what I wanted. Reminded me of home and it's very quiet. The house was very clean smell great no need for towels and sheets games board games cards movies for children fully stocked kitchen Crock-Pot rice cooker all the works. I definitely want to go back and bring my family house gets very hot very quickly if you're cold so only use one heater LOL. Beautiful fireplace couldn't ask for more. Hostess was absolutely amazing sweet lady loved it all the way around.

  • About a hour drive to Ashford, decent location to different hikes outside Rainier. House was nicer than we’d expected, and had a great time staying. Loved the fenced in yard for our pup to play. Fire pit outback with wood provided. They also had fold out chairs which was nice. Not far to a grocery store either. Definitely worth the stay!

Serenity Cabin is close to Mount Rainier National Park, Nisqually/SouthWest Entrance. Paradise, Longmire area. You’ll love my place because it is a genuine A-Frame Cedar Cabin in the Woods with a private hot tub! Very unique and original! Wood Stove and hot tub make it perfect for couples.. No Kids under 8 please. Must be able to use a ladder to get to the sleeping loft where the only bedroom is located.
Kitchen is updated with brand new appliances. Glass front wood stove (and electric heat) will keep you cozy. Large back deck leads to private, covered hot tub. Campfire area with plenty of wood. Seasonal Hammock for 2 in the woods in front of the property.
Serenity is out of town, in a small neighborhood of other vacation homes. It is wooded and private. We own the lot to the right of the cabin. To the back, there is a greenbelt of forest. To the left there is one neighboring cabin, the yard is visible through the trees. INFORMATION ABOUT OUR AREA ASHFORD/Mt. RAINIER *Winter Information You Need To Know: Mount Rainier National Park requires that all vehicle carry chains October through April. They will ask upon entry. You won’t need to use them unless it starts snowing and the roads get slick. You can rent chains at Whittaker Mountaineering in town. On weekends they often run out, so you may want to bring your own if you plan to drive into the park on a Saturday or Sunday. Most hikes are snowed under by November and are best done on snow shoes. Pay close attention to avalanche danger. The Mount Rainier Rangers are very knowledgeable about conditions and good places to go snow shoeing. Also, the Mount Rainier Visitors Association in town is a great place to make inquiries. If you don’t want to go into the park Great Day Hikes in Mt. Rainier National Park Directions to all hikes can be found online by searching the name or looking that the Mt. Rainier National Park Website Near the Paradise Visitor Center Bench and Snow Lakes: This 2.6 mile (round trip) hike is moderate and perfect for kids. It culminates in a gorgeous alpine lake you can jump in if you are brave. It’s so clear you can see the trout swimming from the rocks above. The Skyline Trail at Paradise: This 5.5 mile trail is for those in moderate hiking condition. The views are worth the hike! You can see the cascades in all their glory from the vista of this trail. I have seen more wildlife on this trail than any other from bears to mountain goats to whistling marmots. A great family hike, you can always turn back in someone gets tired! Near Sunrise Visitor Center: The best hike in the park in my opinion! Palasade Lakes trail. You hit 7 alpine lakes on this trip. All you ascending is done at the very end of the hike, so save some energy. If you want to shorten the hike, there is a great place to picnic or jump in at the 4th lake. Don’t miss Tom, Dick, and hairy lakes off to your left as your hiking. You could go 7 miles round trip, but you can catch 4 lakes just by going 3.5 miles. The Freemont Peek Hike is also a favorite. We tend to see a lot of wildlife in this area, squirrels, deer, mountain goats, and whistling marmots primarily. Ohanapacosh Area: Grove of the Patriarchs: This is a short 1 mile hike where you can see incredible giants of the forest. Perfect for kids. Lots of shade. Silver Falls Hike: This starts at Ohanapacosh Campground. Walks a 3 mile loop along the Ohanapacosh River to the gorgeous Silver Falls. Best in spring or early summer as the falls will be impressing. Easy for families. Very pretty any time of year. PET FRIENDLY HIKES, OUTSIDE THE PARK Near Ashford there are some great hikes in the National Forest where you can bring your pet. Cora Lake: 1.5 miles, 400 foot elevation gain (easy to moderate). Highest point is 3,800 foot, so you can hike this earlier in the season when the snow make it hard to hike higher up. Beautiful mountain lake. High Rock Lookout: 3.2 miles, 1,300 foot elevation gain. A little harder hike, begins around 4,000 feet, so only accessible in the summer months unless you want to snow shoe. Gorgeous views! Other area activities: Swimming at Alder Lake, near the town of Elbe. There are several public beaches along the lake. Perfect for a hot day. The Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad. Launches in Elbe, about a 10 minute drive from the cabin. A historic steam engine ride through the countryside. Many different themes are available depending on the season. Northwest Trek Wildlife Park. This is about 40 minutes from the cabin, near Eatonville. It features wildlife native to the Pacific Northwest. Tram tours and walking areas. From owls to wolves this is a wonderful experience for any age. The Nisqually River is a great place to have a picnic. This runs along the Southwest side of Ashford and is accessible from the Nisqually Park neighborhood, the last right turn before the park entrance off of hw706. Once you turn into this neighborhood you can go straight to the end of the block and park on the right shoulder. Once you walk past the service gate take a right. In about ¼ mile you can walk down from the dike onto the river bed. There you will find river rocks and sand and lots of raging river to entertain you and the kids. Ashford Park right in the town of Ashford has an amazing playground & paved walking trails. It is located across from the gas station. Even when the gates are closed midweek (in the winter) you can park to the side, walk in, and enjoy the park. There is unofficial sledding in this park in the winter months. Snowshoeing: The MTTA trail system, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and Mount Rainier all offer many locations to snow shoe. The Mount Rainier Visitors Association in Ashford (next to Whittaker Mountaineering), can help you find trails and gear to rent. I recommend the Paradise Visitors Center at Mt. Rainier if you are looking for easy to find trails. On the weekend there will be Rangers inside to tell you where to go. Restaurants: The Copper Creek Inn is our favorite. It is on HW 706 about 2 miles before the park entrance. I can highly recommend the food and service based on many, many visits! It does get crazy busy in the summer months, so a wait can be expected during the dinner hours in July and August. They will also pack you a picnic lunch to take on a hike. Breakfast is great as well. Scale Burgers in Elbe is open only in the summer, and is good for a delicious burger and fries. Coffee: Whittaker Mountain House will get you your morning fix. Wild Berry: Open in the summer months only. Whittaker Mountaineering: There is a year round coffee shop here. In the summer they also open up a burger place in the back of their complex. There are two stores in town, generally open until 9pm. They sell a little of everything, but not fresh meat and produce. To stock up on groceries you should stop on your way in, or visit the nearby towns of Morton or Eatonville for full service grocery stores. Other Necessities: Post office: located next to the General Store in town Laundry Mat: If you are staying at a cabin without laundry facilities you may need this. It’s located next to the Highlander bar and grill in Ashford, (you can get soap and quarters at the general store).
  • We just loved our staying at this cute a-frame. It was so quaint, clean, and cozy! It was even better than we expected. Checking I was super easy, and it was nice to have some wood stacked already for the wood stove. The cabin is so close to Mt Rainier National Park, and it was so nice to have a hot tube waiting for us after visiting the park. I would definitely recommend this place!

Cozy and light 500 sq feet of privacy on our 4 acres of heaven. Private entrance and full bath with tub/shower located near the end of a private road in a peaceful, rural setting. Queen bed, kitchenette and living room area gives you room to stretch out and relax. Your private section of the wrap around front porch is a great way to spend the afternoon. Willy, the llama and the three goats roam the fenced area behind this studio and are always ready to have some treats!
A half mile long gravel road separates you from the main road. The scenery surrounding the property gives the feeling of being away from it all, but just a few minutes away you'll find shopping and restaurants. Mt. Rainier National Park is an easy hour's drive.
We live on a half mile long private gravel road. The properties on the street are between 2.5 to 10 acres each. The neighborhood is close - we all know each other and help each other often. We even have a Pearl Harbor survivor in our midst! Several neighbors have horses and chickens and it's not unusual to see rabbits, deer and even the occasional elk walking through the neighborhood.
  • Great accommodations! We unfortunately came in late and left early in the morning because of our plans but I wish we had more time to get to meet our hosts and spend a little 1-on-1 time with the resident goats/lama in the backyard! Very clean and comfortable. Would stay again if given the opportunity!!

    Christian2020-02-22T00:00:00Z

  • Great place to stay! We had to arrive later than expected but came to a warm welcome. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and we got to take home some handmade soap which smells amazing!

    Scout2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Simone and Andy fully deserve the superhost designation. They are warm, friendly, and very accommodating. Their space is spotlessly clean, quiet, and they have the most wonderfully comfy bed! I had a delicious rest.

    Christine2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb ever!!! Spacious with lots of room to lay out our belongings, an absolutely beautiful and comfortable area to eat or to sit and visit, homey touches with fresh banana bread and homemade hand soaps, immaculately clean, and the sweet gracious hostess who welcomed us and showed us around. Again, best Airbnb ever! I wanted to move in! Wish our stay had been longer!

    Peggy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Simone and Andy’s place is very quiet and charming. It’s so cozy with lots of personal touches, I was so happy to find that they gave us some delicious banana bread! I honestly felt like a homesick college kid finally coming home to my folks. Simone made sure I had a good night of sleep and keeping warm throughout my entire stay. Although I didn’t get a chance to properly meet her in person, but she prepped us some treats for Willy and the goats, also Gunther the wonder dog stopped by the door to say hello one morning, Simone and Andy are such great hosts that even their little fur friends help them greet their guests! I can’t stress enough on how much I love my stay here, it’s exactly what I was looking forward to and it even exceeded my expectation. I will definitely come back and I’ll be looking forward to it!

    Anna2020-01-09T00:00:00Z

  • Pam was great! Apple Maps took us the wrong way and she went out of her way to make sure we made it safely! Clean, safe, and beautiful! Thanks again Pam

  • Pam's place is amazing and much better than what it looks online. 10/10! Totally recommend

    Rahul2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pam’s cabin was great! Toiletries were provided, there were more than enough pillows, blankets, and towels. The cabin was spacious and clean. Pam helped quickly when we needed to find a grocery store. We can’t wait to stay here again and the hot tub was the icing on the cake! The area was quiet and the neighbors didn’t bother us at all.

    Heather2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • such a magical place! a really great deal for the amount of space and location. kitchen was well-stocked, bedrooms super clean, and tons of fresh towels and linens. pam was great—responded quickly and even left out supplies to make pancakes! the location is nuts—really quiet except for the beautiful sounds of the creek, and i saw deer multiple times. couldn’t believe how close i was to rainier park. hot tub was fantastic. i’ll be back !

    Lorian2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cabin, very clean, great amenities and a comfortable bed!

    Alie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect space on its own for a getaway and/or a great space to come back to after exploring the outdoors. You really can’t beat being on a creek with a hot tub and fire pit out back. Amazing experience.

  • This is the second property I've stayed at from this host, and was not disappointed. The location is perfect for Mount Rainier day trips, the space is comfortable and quiet and private, the hot tub is perfect for recovering from snowshoe hikes and the bed is super comfortable. We're really glad we started off the new year here, and look forward to future stays.

    Rachel2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little getaway house! Very modern-cabin in the woods vibe. Beautiful outdoor space with hot tub! Loved the heated floors in the bathroom and the super comfy bed. House was extremely clean and had everything I needed. Directions were perfect and check in was easy. Will be back for sure.

    Emily2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay at Tammi's cabin. Hot tub was clean and ready for us to soak in. Bed was beyond comfortable. One advice I may give is to purchase groceries before getting into Ashford. The nearest big grocery store is 25 miles away.

    Junwoo Brian2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was warm and inviting. Very clean! We will definitely stay here again.

    Jared2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Tammi- we had an amazing experience at the Juniper Cabin! It was so quite and relaxing. A great getaway. So close to the entrance for Mt. Rainier! We loved that we could hike the day away and come to relax in the hot tub!! The Copper Creek restaurant was a bonus. The blackberry pie, was delicious!!! We will be back!!

    Laura2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cabin was wonderful! Relaxing and provided a homey feel! The heated bathroom floors were a nice touch and the cozy, openness of the downstairs made it so even if you were cooking dinner, you were still able to enjoy time with company. I would definitely book this place again.

  • All the prior reviews are right, Billie and this place are gems! I’ll start by saying that we are hotel people- because you sort of know what you’re getting. But this stay we got so much more than we expected. From a warm and personable welcome to special touches like a fun toddler bedroom. We lucked out to be able to use the kayaks even on a February day. The rooms and living spaces are so roomy and comfortable. Great hot showers after being out in the cold. Everything was clean yet cozy. The kitchen space was fantastic and we easily were able to eat most meals in. It was the perfect low key getaway location.

    Amber2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful vacation! Would book again

    Lun2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Billie is a fantastic host and greeted us all individually when we arrived. The place itself has endless thoughtful touches and is equipped with all you might need whether you're staying one night or one month. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to escape into a serene lakeside fairytale house.

    Arseni2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best AirBnB places we have ever stayed at. Very secure, spacious and best location - right by a beautiful lake, about 1.5hrs from Paradise visitor center of Mt. Rainier NP, about 20 mins to very good restaurant options (in Eatonville/Graham area). Excellent amenities including a full kitchen, a super comfortable bed (+amazing decor) and an a giant screen TV with surround sound (backup for bad weather days). A very responsive and caring host (Billie) who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommend and will very likely return in Summer for our next vacation in the area.

    Arun2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Billie was a wonderful host and the place was so welcoming with so much to offer. I had my brother and his two children over and there were plenty of things to do and we loved taking the paddle boat on the lake and had a great time. Would highly recommend this place!

    Amy2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • I'm pretty hesitant to stay anywhere except a hotel, but I have to say this blew me away. The communication was amazing. Billie was able to reach about before our stay and provide excellent directions to find the unit. She was also very quick to respond to every question that we had. The beauty of the unit can't be described fully, but must been seen to enjoy. From the pictures I could tell it was a nice place and somewhere I would be comfortable staying. Upon arriving my expectations were shattered. The unit was so far and above anything I could have imagined. Every detail was thought out and constructed so that the stay was not only better than any hotel, but in most cases like being at home. Every amenity is taken care of and is easily laid out and shown on the initial tour. There is also a binder full of quick answers to any questions that may arise as well as suggestions for things to do around the area. For anyone not familiar to the area this is a great resource that Billie has put together. I initially thought that I might feel weird or anxious staying away from home or not in the comfort of a hotel, but as soon as I stepped inside all the fears and worries went away. Billie has done something amazing here and I am so glad I took the risk and had the opportunity to be apart of it. If anyone is uncertain or on the fence about staying here I highly recommend taking the leap. This is such an amazing place and you will definitely not regret your decision to stay here.

    John2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb I ever stayed at. Host is extremely caring and thoughtful. She truly enjoys hosting people. House was super clean with killer views. The property was spacious and had many amenities to pass the time. Host provided plenty of guides for the area that were extremely useful for a person not from the area. Beds were very comfortable and I woke up every morning rested and ready to conquer the day. You won’t regret staying here and you might not want to leave!

    Emmanuel2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stay at Billie's was so relaxing! She is so kind, she even texted us offering to bring us something when she went to do groceries 😊 She also left us a little s'mores kit for us to use at her campfire area 👍🏼

Beautiful lake front cabin. Only 35 miles to Mt. Rainier National Park. Enjoy a day of hiking or snowshoeing then soak in the serenity of water front living. Our cabin shares the property with our lakefront cottage. Perfect for pairing families who want to enjoy lake time together.
Cozy, home away from home, you will love the fully stocked kitchen and the view from the deck. We want to be up front with all our guests so please note that this is a shared property. The house, and deck are private, but the laundry and fire pit are shared.
Lake Tanwax is a motorized lake. During the summer it is usually active, but not crowded. Most days it will be occupied by a few fisherman durning the morning hours and by a few boaters in the heat of the day.
  • Great location right on the lake. Perfect space for two with all amenities we needed. Kind and responsive hosts. We would definitely stay again!

    Nichole2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house was easy to check into and it was clean. Kari and Aaron communicated well with us. The loft on the lake is a great location.

    Andrea2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Second time we stayed and loved it as much as the first. Can’t wait to go back!

    Savannah2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I are travel nurses and have been staying at the bungalow for almost 2 months and it has been wonderful. The home is right on the water which is lovely to come home to. Karri and Aaron have done such a good job at making us feel at home. We have everything we need for the kitchen and cleaning. Not to mention our dog has plenty of room to run around on the property. If you love the water this is a great place to visit.

    Savannah2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed here for about a month in the winter while I was on contract (I’m a travel nurse) and the bungalow had everything we needed to cook, make coffee, and clean. The place has beautiful views of the lake! Kari and her husband were very friendly and responded very quickly with any question we had.

    Nicole2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was great fun to wake up each day at the lake, and to watch the ducks and the eagles throughout the day. Aaron and Kari had smooth check-in and check-out procedures and very good communication, and they had a very professional response to a customer service issue.

    Steve2019-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We visited over Christmas and had a perfect cozy trip! The cabin in just feet away from the lake and is beautiful even on a rainy, misty day. We especially loved the skylight above the bed- it was almost like camping (only warm, soft and comfortable)! And Aaron and Kari were excellent with communication and check in, it was super smooth and easy to get into the cabin. Thanks so much Aaron and Kari! We will recommend your place to anybody we know heading out that way!

    Nora2018-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a real treat! Enjoy your mornings drinking a cup of coffee and looking out over the lake. Enjoy the change in the sky from sunrise to sunset. . . and the many birds. . . ducks, heron, hummingbirds, coots, merganser! Look up how to get to Mashel Falls and take a hike. We loved the nearby Northwest Trek to view the baby grizzly and other wildlife.

  • Billie think's of everything. She greets you with a welcome sign and even fresh cookies. Place is beautiful and Bearific lol. Very clean nice view right on Lake. Has a binder that answers any questions as well as places to go or eat . Otherwise she is prompt to answer and help with anything you could think of most organized Airbnb we have stayed at. We had a house fire end of Oct. So we have been to many airbnbs. Hers is #1 so far. If work and our house was closer would of just stayed there. ☆☆☆☆☆ Thanks Billie

  • This place is so cute and was the perfect place for our family to stay. We loved the access to the lake, the fire pit, beautiful view, family games and the personal touches from the hostess (Billie was the best -- super responsive, sweet, and helpful; her things to do binder was very helpful in exploring the area with our family -- 3 adults and 2 kids (ages 4 and 6)). We had a great time both exploring the area (Mt. Rainer!!) as well as just spending a couple days relaxing by the lake (swimming, kayaking). Beautiful area!

Tiny Cabin on The Nisqually River! Hot Tub operational, hot, and ready for guests all year long! River's Edge Cabins is on the banks of Copper Creek and the Nisqually River. Sleeping loft for kids. Washer and dryer and Gas BBQ. Dining table. TV, ROKU player, WIFI, DVD player. Wireless speaker.
Perfect for Couples! Very Scenic. Cabin sits at the end of the road. The River is the backdrop for the backyard. There are other cabins visible through the woods, as this is in a neighborhood of other vacation homes.

  • Wonderful location — great base camp for the national park and various trails in the area, and lovely views of the Nisqually River. Cabin is clean, warm, and delightfully cozy, we felt right at home as soon as we walked in. Hot tub was wonderful to shake off the winter chill after spending a day in the snow, we hope to be back in the summer to enjoy the fire pit and BBQ!

  • Great place. Views were perfect!

    Brent2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this cabin is amazing. I wish we could’ve stayed longer just to continue soaking up the view. The kitchen is essentially fully stocked with dishes, pots, cooking utensils, and even thoughtful extras like cooking and drinking water, spices, cooking oil, cocoa and cider, and more - much appreciated. The description is accurate, which is also appreciated. It is exactly what I expected and more. The one bedroom is small, just enough room to slide by the full size bed, and just as the description states - be sure to take fast showers as there’s not much hot water. It was the perfect spot to celebrate our anniversary, and the river was the perfect setting for the proposal that my other half had up his sleeve! We would absolutely come back to this peaceful cabin.

    Ashley2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome spot. Enjoyed our stay. Perfect place for a getaway

    Tobias2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was great for two people or couples with kids. What was really special about this place was the views of the mountainside and the creek in the backyard. Only about five minutes to the entrance of Mt. Rainier.

    Matthew2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful stay in this adorable river side cabin. So cosy, and probably THE comfiest bed I've slept in in an Airbnb. The bedroom is quite small - just the bed but that was no problem for us as there is plenty of living space and we were mainly outside of course. Fire pit was perfect, seating on the front porch where we enjoyed our morning coffee. Highly recommend Tammi's place.

    Isis2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin is a gem. It's adorable and cozy, with an amazing view! I like the fact that it was near other homes and close to the main road, but had completely unobstructed views of the river and mountains. The hot tub was wonderful, and my son loved the loft. I really appreciated having the water machine and the washer and dryer. Great access to the National Park and other attractions. I wished I could have stayed and lived in this cabin, so I hope to come back one day!

    Brittany2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at the Rivers Edge cabin. The cabin was the perfect cozy spot in the mountains to stay for a few days. Anything we needed was in the cabin and the location was perfect. It was clean, quiet and overall a great place to stay. We loved how close it was the Mount Rainier and some restaurants, but also tucked away from busy cities. We would definitely return to this cabin in the future!

  • The Tiny Cabin was cozy and comfortable get away! If you’re looking for a more remote cabin stay, it’s pretty close to the neighboring properties, but we didn’t see any neighbors during our stay. The living space needed some rearranging to feel a little less cramped, but the amenities were awesome! Full kitchen, washer/dryer, and comfy chairs for reading and chilling. The hosts also have a great pet policy. Overall, a fantastic stay a short drive from Rainier!

  • You should stay here! My wife and I needed to get out of the city to unwind for a bit. This cabin was perfect! We enjoyed using both the backyard fire pit, where we were joined by the neighborhood cat, as well as the indoor fire place. We have stayed in Airbnbs in all 5p states and this one had some of the best amenities! We enjoyed the snow shoes, Nintendo system and record player! We also saw Elk just down the road multiple times!

  • Chris has thought of everything for our stay. Chris provided firewood, s'mores, wine, bottled water and more. We loved the location just outside mount Rainier national park. The hot water was perfect and the heat made nights nice and toasty. Plenty of entertainment with board games, video games, and records for playing music. A perfect, relaxing stay!

  • Chris’ place was amazing! The kitchen and bathroom amenities were above and beyond. We had a bit of a snowstorm on the eve of our check-out and Chris messaged us that we could take whatever time necessary to check-out, due to the weather. I would definitely stay here again!

In fact, all our plans to drive off and sightsee went down the drain! This place was just what we were looking for: comfortable and unique. Highly recommended if you have a few days to get away.

Welcome to your Mount Rainier escape. Beautiful A-Frame cabin surrounded by 10 acres of new and old growth forest just 8 minutes (4.8 miles) from the entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. Basecamp here with 3 private bedrooms, 2 private balconies, 2 large decks and a relaxing hot tub. The perfect place for friends and family alike to call home after your adventures in and around the park.
3 private bedrooms each include a queen-size bed. Full sized kitchen has all of the basic cooking essentials needed for a family-sized dinner after a long day in the mountains. Open floor-plan provides the perfect space to enjoy each other's company. Cozy up by the wood-burning stove and cuddle up on the large couch and watch Netflix while you unwind. Laundry units included if you have an extended stay or just need to do a quick load of laundry after a long day in the park. Relax, watch the stars and sooth those sore muscles in the private hot tub. Located in the backyard just off the deck and surrounded by nature. Heating: We primarily rely on our wood-burning stove to heat our home. We will provide firewood, kindling and fire starters for your stay. We do have an in-wall electric heater that does a pretty good job of keeping the place warm, but in the deep winter you'll want to use the wood-burning stove. Instructions are included in the manual.
Ashford is a thriving mountain community with remarkable access to Mount Rainier National Park. Stop in at Whitaker's "Basecamp" and shop new/used outdoor gear (or rent snowshoes!). Our home is also located minutes from the famous Copper Creek Inn which serves some of the best blackberry pie in Washington (along with a full breakfast, lunch, dinner and to-go menu.) Minutes from hundreds of trailheads and acres away from our neighbors, you'll love the secluded yet close-to-town feel of our cabin.
  • We have had a lot of great experiences on AirBnB and this one was by far the best. The place was perfect had a nice style to it, great amenities, nice personal touches and Grant was very responsive and informative. Really couldn’t have asked for more. We will definitely be returning to this wonderful property.

We found all the amenties we expected and many cozy additional touches that were unexpected and delightful. The house was adorable, clean, well-stocked, and the communication from Grant was quick and clear. It's a short drive from the home to several trailheads as well as the entrance to Mount Rainier NP. • Grant's place was great! Upon arrival, there was a bottle of wine and a hand-written welcome note. The home was clean, comfortable and cozy. I found everything I needed in the kitchen to cook meals and the hot tub was wonderful. Grant was also very responsive to questions and even gave recommendations for local hikes. All around a great experience. We will definitely stay again!

  • This A-Frame is perfectly situated right next to the Mt Rainer park entrance. It is as pretty in person as it is in the pictures. If you’re looking for a mountain getaway this is a great spot to do it. The hot tub and stove fire heater warmed us up nicely with all the snow around, and the record player with a great selection hooked up to a Sonos system was a great touch too. I’d recommend this to any couple or small group looking to come to this area!

  • Tyra and Dan's little cabin getaway was perfect for our weekend leading up to the Christmas holidays. After skiing at White Pass, we came back to the coziest little cabins (which smelled like cedar when we walked in!) with all the amenities we were hoping for. The three cabin setup was really charming and clearly were thoughtfully designed. We loved the sweet little details and everything was very clean and well taken care of. It was the perfect spot for me to propose to my partner! We will definitely be back

  • This was the perfect place to relax for a few days! The hot tub and sauna were absolutely amazing! If you’re a morning person we highly recommend getting in the hot tub to watch the sunrise, you might even see some deer :) The cabin is cozy and comfortable with lots of extra fluffy blankets. Feels very private, even with a few other cabins within sight. Book your trip here, you won’t be disappointed!
