  • Great location close to the lighthouse and within an easy drive of other area points of interest, but Eagle Harbor provided some quiet solace right on Lake Superior. I appreciated all the tips and recommendations from Carol and Barry-communication with our hosts was excellent. The cabin was well stocked and worked perfectly for our needs. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • The location of the cottage was perfect for our weekend. The space was cozy and was perfectly adequate for our trip, during which we spent much of the time out exploring. Amenities were fine and as described. There was an emergency with the water supply for the cottage, and Barry and Carol immediately attended to and fixed the problem; we were not affected at all. They were really wonderful hosts and we appreciated the local tips. We were glad to meet them and to have had the opportunity to be their guests!

  • Neat and tidy cabin in a quiet location.

  • Barry's place is an absolutely amazing place to spend your time. It is close to many attractions, and within walking distance of the lake, lighthouse, and restaurant. Our hosts were kind, and we were provided with everything we needed during our stay. It was a perfect place to call home during our time in the upper peninsula!

  • This place is a quaint cabin-like space that allows you room to relax, refresh, and cook, but not be overwhelmed with a huge house. Easy driving distance from Copper Harbor and Eagle River. Gorgeous views of Lake Superior- be sure to check out the sunset at the overlook near the lighthouse. Overall, a wonderful place to be!

Beautiful sunsets and crashing waves on a remote beach - without 'roughing it!' Heated floors and fireplace will keep you toasty while you watch the Big Lake through a wall of glass. Full kitchen with cherry and granite so you don't have to leave.
Elegantly trimmed wilderness home with full amenities. Queen bed with two-sided fireplace serving bedroom and dining area. Unique black ash cathedral ceiling. In-floor radiant heat for ultimate comfort. Washer, dryer, and walk-in closet. It doesn't get cozier than this!
Walk the secluded beach for miles and be completely alone while you pick Lake Superior agates. One mile hike to 7 Mile Point Nature Conservancy. Snowmobile trail access 5 minutes away in Eagle River. Snowmobile trailer and sled parking available with heated shop in case your gear requires a little wrenching. Extensive hiking/snowshoeing wilderness trails right at your doorstep.
  • The location itself is secluded, but you are staying on the host’s property with their house right next to you. It was still private and completely separate, but like other reviews stated a little surprising. Other than that it was amazing. Top notch inside and out. Everything was there from pots and pans to tv and DVD player. Even an electric can opener. The unit itself was gorgeous and clean. Perfect place for a couple to get away in the Keweenaw.

  • Great place right on the lake, super secluded. The owner's home is right next to it but still felt like we were in our own little world. Perfect escape for a mental reset.

    Benjamin2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place without looking at how far it was, come to find out it was a 12 hour drive! Every second of that 13 hours was worth it for this destination! It is absolutely stunning; sitting right on the edge of the lake and you can hear the waves in the cabin. If you're looking for a beautiful, private, secluded get away.. this place is it and do much more!

    Kaley2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place was top of the line. The finishes, the appliances, the amenities, the furniture, the scenery, the location, and the host. This place has everything you need, and everything you didn't know you needed.

  • This is by far the best Airbnb I have stayed in. My husband and I got to spend our one year anniversary admiring Michigan’s U.P. Fall colors and lakeshore. They gave us our space and the hospitality was great as there was parking, a cute welcome pumpkin, pitcher of cold water, brochures/books about the area etc. Brad’s place offered a fully functional and stocked home with all the essentials (salt/pepper/olive oil/lotion/shampoo/hair dryer etc). We were able to slow down and felt cozy and right at home in the space. We spent our evenings watching the sunset with wine in hand. Thank you so much for a glorious stay, we will be back!

    Rachel2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay, highly recommend it. It is right next to the owners house which we didn't expect but turned out just fine. Still had the privacy we were looking for. Beach is gorgeous.Everything you could need is available, really was perfect!

    Kristen2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space and location. Quiet, relaxing. Off the beaten trail but close enough to food and other activities. Our second stay. Winter was beautiful up here. Fall is amazing as well. We will be back.

True North on Lake Superior in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula is a 2 acre, private retreat with 300 ft of water frontage. You'll be welcomed by the sound of waves at the end of a private driveway, surrounded by forest that leads to our newly renovated cabin with all the amenities for a memorable vacation stay. Explore the rocky conglomerate shore and be inspired by freighters, local wildlife, and starry skies with the best vantage point we've ever found to see the northern lights.
The cabin was designed in Portland, Oregon as a ski chalet in the 1950/60s. The blueprints hang on the wall next to the kitchen for anyone interested in architecture. In early 2019, we remodeled the majority of the cabin to fit a rustic modern style. We purchased the cabin to be closer to Copper Harbor mountain biking and Mt Bohemia skiing. Modern touches include new appliances and a fully updated 3/4 bathroom (without tub). As it goes with any renovation, we're always working on something! In 2020, you'll find a larger deck and a sauna. The cabin has a cozy footprint (~1,000 sq ft) with three bedrooms. The open floor plan and lofted ceilings do not dampen sound. There is no wifi or cell service available at the cabin. There is a landline for guest use.
The cabin is located on 2 acres of wooded property with over 300 ft of frontage. By the water, there is only one other roofline viewable. You have complete privacy during your stay. A short drive along Lake Superior 5 miles east lands you in Copper Harbor with restaurants, world class mountain bike trails, a golf course, and a brewery. A 7 mile jaunt to the west is Eagle Harbor with a beautiful sand beach, lighthouse, old coast guard station turned museum, and trail systems. A full guide to area amenities is available at the cabin!
  • Fantastic communication from the host and unbelievable location with amazing updates made this a one of a kind vacation experience!

    Michael N Jennifer2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is amazing. Cozy and comfortable, with an amazing view. Enjoyed many cups of coffee on the porch listening to the waves and watching the boats pass. The location is nice, it is right between Copper Harbor and Eagle Harbor. There was even a grill - charcoal and lighter fluid supplied - so one night we had burgers and enjoyed the sunset. Words cant express how relaxing it was to spend a week there. It was everything we hoped and then some. A+++

    Kara2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot nicely renovated to an updated cabin feel. No cell or internet service and that was perfect for us oh to unwind without the screentime to interfere. Spacious deck right on the shoreline of Lake Superior. Several ship sightings crossing the lake. Had hoped to stargaze a bit but the weather had other ideas. Undoubtedly a great locale to do so. Lynn and Jason were excellent hosts, great communication in front of our stay. Cabin is well appointed, nothing amiss. A True NorthTreat!

    Mike2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Very clean, amazing view!

    Heidi2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • True North was a wonderful place to stay. Quiet, off the road, no neighbors, just peace and relaxation. Sitting on the deck enjoying the sunset was so relaxing. Clean, clear, fresh Lake Superior water is amazing. The house is beautiful with a great bathroom! Lynn was a wonderful host. Responded immediately to our questions. We'll definitely be back.

  • I went to school in Houghton for college and often traveled throughout the Keweenaw whenever I had a chance. This cabin is the perfect location and style to kick back and enjoy Copper Harbour the proper way.

    Nick2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning views of Lake Superior in this charming renovated cottage. Cozy, clean and comfortable. Close to Copper Harbor.

    Maureen2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was nothing short of magical. The view blew my mind. Perfect base camp for mountain bikers that spend their days shredding in Copper Harbor. Enjoyed drinking coffee on the deck. Lots of coffee. The entire place was spotless, perhaps one of the cleanest AirBnB’s I’ve stayed at. Nice personal touches like True North themed coffee from a local coffee house in Calumet. I enjoyed the assortment of wildflowers on the rocky shore, and the fresh flowers on the table. We watched freighters (actual ships passing in the night), and we had a few loons in view. Bed was very comfy and clean. Can’t wait to come back again. Looking forward to continued improvements to the cabin. I hope it doesn’t include WiFi, actually. It’s an excellent place to turn all of that off and just enjoy the surroundings, and the company. :-) Now, if we could just do something about the mosquitos... Just kidding.

Private entrance to a spacious 2nd floor guest room & private bath (as well as a screened-in porch and first floor parlor), set in the quaint, picturesque lakeside town of Eagle River. Just out the door is Lake Superior, a sandy beach, river gorge, waterfall, sunsets & stargazing. No added cleaning fee.
This spacious and pleasant space will sleep 1-3 people. It is in an historic home that was built in the 1860's. In the past, the home was a boarding house, "Grandview." The guest room has three large windows that face the lake, with enjoyable lake breezes during the summer months. A private bath is across the hall, just off the bedroom. The bedroom is set up with both a double and single bed (to sleep up to three, or for extra sleeping space for restless sleepers.) We are confident that our guests will find this a comfortable and enjoyable place to call their temporary home. We have accomplished much in the 20+ years that we've owned the home...and the restoration goes on. A variety of recreational activities are available for all ages and skill levels. Explore the history of the area, or experience biking on beginner to world-class mountain bike trails. Hike, kayak, stroll the beaches, agate/rock pick, or simply relax in the natural beauty of the area. We are an easy drive to the dock for the "Isle Royale Queen" in Copper Harbor, which transports visitors to and from the Isle Royale National Park. Winter provides abundant snow for downhill and cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. We are ideally located just 16 miles from Mt. Bohemia and 30 miles north of Mt. Ripley/Michigan Tech. You will find "Grandview" a welcoming place to return to after a day of adventuring or an hour or so of relaxing on the beach.
Eagle River is a small lakeside town. Taking a short walk to the beach with your morning coffee is a beautiful start to the day. Eagles can oftentimes be seen scouting for their next meal near the mouth of the river. The town has three bridges, the historic Pratt Pony Bridge, over 100 years old, is just out your front door, and provides a spectacular view up the river gorge and down to the mouth at Lake Superior. The Eagle River Falls is just a very short walk up the street, across from the Township Hall (which houses the Eagle River Museum on the 2nd Floor.) Lake Superior is magnificent, and forever changing--offering up everything from soft and serene sunsets, to wildly crashing waves. There is more than enough to see and do here in Keweenaw County to pack an itinerary full of adventure and sight-seeing. But, if you'd prefer, you can just kick back, relax...and simply enjoy being here.
  • We loved our stay. The house was warm and comforting, a perfect escape from the cold outside. Our room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Kathy’s assistance finding fun things nearby for us to do as well as her delicious breakfasts were the highlights of our stay. Looking forward to visiting again.

  • We enjoyed the location, and the house was very comfortable with a parlor and a fireplace where we enjoyed sitting. Kathy went above and beyond by picking us up along the highway when our truck broke down on our way - at least an hour drive for her. The location is right next to Fitzgerald's on Lake Superior, one of our favorite restaurants.

Charming custom cottage nestled on a wooded lot on the shores of Lac La Belle. Wake up to a view of the lake and enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck or dock. Close to Mt. Bohemia, snowmobile and biking trails and a five minute boat ride from the dock to Lake Superior. The cottage invites fishermen and active outdoor enthusiasts to their favorite sport. With a full kitchen, you may want to cook up your favorite meal or fresh catch. The soft pine interior has accent lighting, sit back and relax :)
An outdoor wood fired sauna will help relax those muscles after a day outdoors. The wood supply is up to you but we can assist you with where you can purchase it. The interior wood fired stove is only an accent piece for guests and is not to be used, it is plenty cozy without :). Wood floors and interior with accent lighting gives the cottage a cozy appeal. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils and dishes to enjoy your delicious home cooked meal, fresh baked cake for that birthday or special occasion! Outside there is a fire pit to gather around on a crisp fall eve or warm summer night.

  • Quiet and relaxing. Great for an escape. The views are beautiful (even from inside the chalet) and the kitchen was great to cook in. The beds slept comfortably and we were cozy and warm. Would highly recommend.

These Eagle Harbor Cottages near the lighthouse in Eagle Harbor were formerly a part of a former resort. They have been fully renovated. We currently rent 2 of the cottages which have the best view of Lake Superior and are closest to the road leading to the lighthouse and the lighthouse itself. The spacing is tight. The washer/dryer is shared by the 2 cottages.

  • Very clean facility, comfortable, and a nice location. Easy walk to the lighthouse and overlook of Lake Superior!

    Larry2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute cottage with great amenities. The weather wasn’t great so we weren’t able to enjoy the sunsets at the lighthouse. We’ll be back in the spring so we can enjoy the outside surrounding areas. We were still able to enjoy our stay because of the cozy ness of the cottage.

    Sheri2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the many "retro" touches in this sparkling clean, well-furnished cottage. The front porch with its bucolic view of the bay was our favorite spot! The local cemetery is absolutely beautiful!

  • Absolutely perfect! It was so lovely to sit on the porch and drink coffee while looking at the lake! The cottage was clean, comfortable and had all we needed for a great trip.

The House on the Hill is perfect for families looking for a peaceful place to relax in Eagle Harbor, Michigan. We are one of very few year-round cabin rentals in the area with in floor heating. The cottage, perched high on the lighthouse ridge overlooking the harbor, is only a short walk to the beach. Step onto the front porch and soak in the beautiful south facing views of the surrounding mountains and sparkling harbor waters. Recently remodeled with top end appliances and has a wood fireplace.
A great-room designed, private cottage including one bedroom with a queen bed, a open living area, loft bedroom, brand new - fully equipped kitchen, walk-in-closet/bathroom, and covered front porch with fantastic views. This cottage is ideal for a family with children that can safely climb a ladder - kids love the loft!
The cottage is located on a private drive, walking distance to everything in Eagle Harbor. Perfectly located!
  • We spent a great long weekend at Rodneys cabin. The place is spotless, and very cozy while still having modern touches. Fully stocked kitchen. Everything we could have needed was there! All in a great location with views of Lake Superior, and a quick drive to Bohemia. Rodney left us great detailed info about the house, and was quick to respond. Can’t wait to come back!

    Kat2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is all you need. Plenty of room to sleep and a very nice redone kitchen. You can hear the power of Lake Superior from the deck and it is just a few steps away. So cool

    Luke2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Rodney for allowing us to stay at your place this past weekend. The cabin has been updates and well maintained. It fit all of us with ease. We definitely enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and eating in front of the fire place. Sorry for the bacon smell. We even had a mad game of Michiganopoly in front of the fire. We somehow managed to lock ourselves out of the cabin and the kind people at the Eagle Harbor Inn took us in until someone was found to unlock the door. What a great community. We even hiked out to the lighthouse during a break from the snow storms and explored the ice/snow covered beach as well. Great cabin in a great community. Less than 25 minutes from Mount Bohemia.

  • Everything we wanted and more. Stayed for a week and didn’t want to leave. Great location, amenities, and overall appeal. Hope to return for the same trip next year!

  • Rodney's place is cozy and has an awesome view of lake superior. 5/5 would stay again.

  • A quaint cozy cottage stay with all the amenities for enjoying beautiful Eagle Harbor. We didn't want to leave!

    Linda2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Love this cabin! Beautiful location, awesome fireplace and great memories! This was our second time staying and we hope to be back again. The cabin has everything you need and more! Thanks for a great stay!

    Angel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third stay at the House on the Hill and just one of multiple stays at Rodney's Eagle Harbor properties over the years. The House on the Hill is a fantastic cottage with a wonderful location on a bluff over the harbor. It's a unique property that has been thoughtfully designed for a great stay. It has windows all around, a completely modernized kitchen, a cozy open living area with a fireplace, and a small lofted area for a couple of kids to sleep in. There's a large communal table at one end for meals or games, surrounded by windows. Rodney is an excellent host, very attentive to requests or issues. You will not regret your time at the House on the Hill!

  • We loved the vintage vibe. The furniture was comfortable and the space cozy & clean, with amazing lake views. The cottage is perfect for up to 6 people. We can’t wait to go back.

    Kerri2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Retro relaxation. Is was a wonderful experience to stay here. The view of the lake was so amazing. We enjoyed rock hounding, eagle watching and campfires on the beach. We were not sure if we would like being 8 miles from Copper Harbor, where we usually spend a lot of time. The privacy we had at the cabin was so worth it. Also, we did a lot more exploring than we have in past visits to the Keweenaw. Can't wait to go back to the 70's again!

    Connie2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place on the lake! The view was amazing and listening to the waves crash was so peaceful. We loved the charm of the vintage 70s cottage. Bigger than expected, very well maintained and clean. We would definitely stay again.

    Jillian2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable, great views of the lake (I almost derailed my on-time checkout when I got distracted by two bald eagles that soared by and then perched on trees across the bay). This cottage offers everything you need for a comfortable and cozy stay.

    Renee2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Truly an amazing place! Clean, spacious, awesome rock beach, and a beautiful view from basically anywhere on the property. This cabin far exceeded our expectations and made for an awesome home base for our adventures in the UP! I would recommend staying here to anyone who likes to unplug and get away from the craziness of modern life. We'll definitely be staying here again!!

    Angela2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect location and setting for a deep woods getaway. Sam and Shelby’s place is exactly what I needed to remember what the Upper Peninsula life is all about: amazing views of Lake Superior from the living room and late night fires watching the sun set.

    Ryan2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very clean and has everything you need when you travel. The view of Lake Superior is, well "superior!" The fire pit on the beach was a highlight, as was watching the waves, wildlife, and boats on the Lake, as well as the stars in the sky. This is a perfect location to enjoy everything in the area. We came mostly to mountain bike Copper Harbor, and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more.

Our house sits right on Lake Superior, atop a lava rock cliff, on the "Gold Coast" of Eagle Harbor. The living room, dining area, and kitchen have a breathtaking view of the lake that includes the lighthouse and harbor entrance. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen, each of which have lots of closet space. There is also a smaller room off the entry way with a bunk bed. Sand beach, 5 minute walk, restaurant 10 minute walk. Copper Harbor & Mt. Bohemia 20 minute drives.
If you are looking for a cozy, natural setting to read, write, or just relax, with a stunning view of the world's largest freshwater lake that can be taken in via our wall of windows in the living room or the deck just beyond, this is it. High adventure also awaits via a 20 minute drive to Copper Harbor or Mount Bohemia. The Keweenaw Peninsula is loaded with rich history from its heyday as the world's center of copper mining. Much of the peninsula has been designated a national historic park, where one can find a rich treasure trove of turn-of-the-century architecture and other artifacts, and many interesting residents who keep the Keweenaw's rich spirit burning brightly with the many different museums, tours, and social clubs they maintain. If outdoor adventure is your interest, the Keweenaw also has some of the best boating, hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling, downhill and cross-country skiing between the Rockies and the Appalachians. Eagle Harbor is one of the more tranquil lakeside towns on the peninsula. In the summer, one hotel sells ice cream and the other has a very nice restaurant and cozy bar. There is a sand beach with a raft for those who love to swim Superior's clear waters. In winter, the ice in the harbor can change by the hour. Whatever season, the shifting view from Freshwater House's back windows or deck often reveal Lake Superior in one of her many awe inspiring moods. Copper Harbor lies 14 miles east along a scenic lakeside highway. There, you can find a microbrewery, several restaurants and gift shops, kayak and mountain bike rentals and tours, and a trail system that has made Copper Harbor one of the top five mountain biking destinations in the United States. Mt. Bohemia, perhaps the most chellenging ski area between the Rockies and the Appalachians, is a 20 minute drive to the Southeast. Bohemia also has a modern spa with hot tub, cold tub, steam room, and sauna, and summer paddleboard and kayak rentals. If you are looking for a little access to modern American, 35 miles to the southwest is Houghton, where one of the nation's best engineering colleges is surrounded by shopping malls, chain restaurants, a cinema, etc.
A sand beach sits about 200 yards west of the house. An agate beach sits about 200 yards east of the house. The center of Eagle Harbor, where you can find a ball yard, basketball court (with balls), and playground equipment is about a ten minute walk. The Eagle Harbor Inn, which serves lunch and dinner, and has a small friendly bar, is about a 12 minute walk. The marina, where one can park a boat for a fee (paid to the state), is a mile drive around the harbor. Copper Harbor is a 20 minute drive to East. Mt. Bohemia is a 20 minute drive to Southeast. Snowmobile trails connect Eagle Harbor to the rest of the Keweenaw.

You are looking for peace and quiet. We have it! My cozy home is nestled in 40 acres of woods: oak, fir, maple, cedar, birch. You are more likely to see a deer in the yard than a car passing by. The night skies are often dark enough to see the Milky Way and the occasional shooting star. Come to the the northern woods and let your cares fade away.
Homey, cozy, and quiet... my house is nestled in the woods. I like warm, soft lighting and a simple cottage decor.
This is the northwoods at its finest! Your neighbors are the trees, the animals, and the stars. An easy, picturesque drive can take you to: -Hancock/Houghton 25 minutes -Copper Harbor 45 minutes -Mt. Bohemia 30 minutes -Calumet 10 minutes -Gay 20 minutes -Porcupine Mountains 120 minutes -Lake Superior beach at the Gratiot River 15 minutes
  • Neat little home tucked away in the woods. Daniel was welcoming, responsive, and flexable to the fact that we arrived very late at night.

  • Bottom line, I would highly recommend you stay here. Daniel was extremely personable, and very hospitable. He has fascinating taste in decor, and the place was very clean. The the room itself was good, and the bed was very comfy. If I venture this way again, I will most likely return (as long as there are the correct amount of people, of course). 6 stars!

  • Daniel’s place is not only conveniently located close to Mt. Bohemia but also many other parks and nature reserves. It was the perfect spot for two people to stay on a short trip to the Keweenaw to enjoy the outdoors. Daniel keeps his home very clean and organized. His kitchen has all the essentials you may need if you plan to prepare your own meals. He is also willing and excited to provide tips and suggestions for local attractions. Daniel helped make our trip memorable and enjoyable! We arrived at his home to find a Keweenaw shaped chocolate bar in our room and woke up every morning to a pot of coffee ready to brew. If we are ever in the area again we will be sure to look Daniel’s home up for a welcoming place to stay!

  • Nice place very clean with a great location.

  • We've stayed at many places around Mt Bohemia and this cabin offered everything we needed for a very affordable price! It was amazing to be just a short drive away from the mountain lodge and just down the road from Bear Belly Bar! We also loved that it was dog-friendly! I recommend this place to anyone and we'll definitely be back in years to come!

    Brian2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Richard's cabin exceeded our expectations. The place was sparkling clean and the check-in process was simple. Would definitely recommend to anyone heading to Mount Bohemia in the winter, or even finding a place to enjoy the nature year round. We will definitely be back!

    Scott2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Michele were fantastic hosts! They were always very quick to respond, the cabin was immaculate and the whole rental process went as good as I could have ever imagined. We loved the area - took a drive around most of the day on Saturday, toured a mine and drove up to Copper Harbor. It was nice to have a cabin to come home to in the evening and we went just down the road to eat at Bear Belly for dinner Saturday night. Rick and Michele are doing a bunch of upgrading / excavating to the area, adding more camp sites and a new office / shower area. Bringing our dogs was no issue and they had the time of their lives too. Would most definitely recommend to anyone and hope we can make our way back up there some day.

    Sarah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • You can't go wrong with staying with Richard. It's in a beautiful setting, exceptionally clean and kept up. The price is very reasonable and Richard does everything he can to help you with your planning and stay. It's a bit of a drive to get there but so worth it. Don't make the same mistake we did in only staying one night.

    Claire2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend Richards place . Friendly and helpful telling you where the best trails and anything u need or want to know.

    Susan2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful place. Clean with comfortable beds and a nice kitchen. TV and Internet access is also available for those that can’t leave school or work behind. It was off the beaten path; had nice trails to walk or bike; and I was able to take my pup for a walk through the woods. The scenery is beautiful! Just down the road there’s a nice restaurant and bar that you can walk to. There is also a personal campfire ring with a picnic table by the cabin and it was a perfect way to end the evening. I would definitely come back especially since my son is at MTU and it’s only an hour drive.

The Lac La Belle Cabin is part of Mount Bohemia resort so the waterfront is a communal area with kayaks and paddle boards. These can be rented for your use (through Labor Day). There are great hiking trails in the area, and world class bike trails are located in Copper Harbor, just 16 miles away. Beta Gris beach on Lake Superior is just 3 miles away for white sand and swimming. Guests can also use the 30 person hot tub (labor day through mid october, Friday- Sunday.)
Linens are included but not towels, please bring your own towels. Thanks.
This area is located in the beautiful woods of the Keweenaw Peninsula and has great driving tours around the coast of Lake Superior, also.
  • The cabin is in the perfect location for day trips! The stay was incredible and it was a peaceful place to call home for a few days. I would highly recommend a stay! Thanks Elaine for being such a wonderful host!

    Cynthia2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was great; perfect for the two of us. The location was in the middle of everything we wanted to see in the Keweenaw and we found a few hidden gems not far from the cabin. If you can hike, go see the Montreal falls. Thank you!

    Crystal2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is truly wonderful! It was in such a perfect location right on the water in Lac La Belle. The cabin itself was so clean and very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. There was even a fire pit outside and paddle boards you could rent! My family and I had such a great time staying here. The check-in process was also very easy and Elaine was super responsive and made everything very simple and straight forward. I would definitely love to come back and stay again sometime (possibly in the winter to do some skiing at Mount Bohemia which was so close you could literally walk to it).

    Sarina2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kitchen was loaded with more items then you typically see. Lake was quite and scerene even on a "busy" weekend.

    Jeff2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cozy cabin conveniently situated on the shore of Lac La Belle. Beautiful views of the lake from the deck. Pictures on website give an accurate representation. Kitchen is reasonably well equipped, but no dishwasher. It's a lovely 25 minute drive to Copper Harbor, where you can find lots of hiking and biking trails. If you're looking for a quiet, remote get-away spot near Lake Superior, we highly recommend this cabin. It's definitely off the beaten path. Elaine, the host, was helpful and responsive.

Centrally located in picturesque Eagle Harbor, perfect for any season is our extremely spacious, lovely 4 bedroom home. Steps to the sandy beach, surrounded by gorgeous fall colors & fabulous snow mobile trails, 20 minutes from Mount Bohemia! All the comforts of home.
This has been our family vacation home for generations and you will absolutely enjoy all the comforts of a home as well as lots of local art, most done by my Dad. It's pretty impressive and just a wonderful location, area and home.
This community of homes is so special. Lots of beaches, rocky shoreline to explore, tons of history, and wonderful people and nature.
  • This is the third year our group has stayed in this house while skiing and enjoying other winter fun in the Keewanaw. We love it! The common space is large and great for several people to share. Close to all sorts of great outdoor ativities. Can't wait to come back next year.

  • Raeanon's house is a beautiful historic Victorian in Eagle Harbor, very near to the beach, and lighthouse. The location is very close to Copper Harbor, local mines, and beaches around Lake Superior. It is a rock hunter's dream in the summer. The house is spacious with 3 bedrooms up with bathroom, and one master bedroom down. The backyard is a calm place to just sit and look at the sky at night or enjoy the sun during the day. I highly recommend Raeanon's place for summer or winter enjoyment. Tom and Ava G.

DOC'S INN SLEEPS: 4 BEDROOMS: 2 BATHROOMS: 1 *RENT 1 CABIN OR ALL 4 TOGETHER There are 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, a full kitchen, and a large dining and living room space. Doc's Inn- This cottage was built for a regular Lake Breeze guest. He was a physician who traveled with his chauffeur, so the house was built with two bedrooms; the larger for the doctor and the smaller for the chauffeur. The magnificent stone fireplace was built by Louis Ozzie who also built the fireplaces at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. A message from the owners: “At the turn of the century, our great-grandparents emigrated from Scandinavia and settled in the Keweenaw Peninsula not only building a new life for themselves but literally building many of the churches, schools, stores and homes in the area. Of course many childhood memories include swimming in Lake Superior, picking thimbleberries, grilling fresh-caught fish and watching for bears and wildlife in this magical place. We fell in love with these 4 cottages because they belonged to the original Lake Breeze Resort in Eagle Harbor. Built in the 20's, this resort had 15 cottages that sat on “The Hill” overlooking the harbor. As time went on, some of the cottages were sold and we now find ourselves lucky enough to own four. Frequently Asked Questions: A/C: no central air. A cross-breeze usually keeps it a nice temperature. ATV's: Best to leave those home. No trails close by and no parking for a trailer. Bathroom: A full bathroom (shower/tub combo). Beach: The beach is just a short walk across the street. This beautiful sandy beach is perfect for swimming, and even has an old-fashioned slide! Beach Chairs: Each cottage has beach chairs, beach bags, and a line to hang up your beach towels outside! Bedrooms: Bedroom #1: has a queen bed Bedroom #2: has a full bed. Bugs: The typical mosquitos, flies, ants. Cable: Yes, there is cable! Cell phone service: Cell phone service is generally unreliable in the U.P. Though, we have found that Verizon works well here. Distance: Copper Harbor Attractions: Copper Harbor is a town that is a short 14 miles away from the cottages. In Copper Harbor you can find some very unique places that are a must see while you are in town! 1. The Brick House- This is a micro brewery where you can find all of the finest craft beers in the area! 2. The Harbor Haus- Authentic German food that you must try! 3. Jamsen's Fish Market & Bakery:- Freshly baked goods are produced here every day. 4. The General Store- Across the street from dining is where you will find an old fashioned general store that has a gas station as well. 5. State Campground- Historical sightings where Indians once were. Eagle Harbor Attractions: 1. Eagle Harbor Restaurant- Come to this very delicious restaurant where you will find the freshest fish and the coldest craft beers! 2. Gift Shop- “The Gem Store” is the perfect gift shop, especially for anyone who is a rock hound. 3. Great Sand Bay- Similar to the Traverse City “Sleeping Bear Dunes”! Just a short 3 miles away. 4. Lighthouse- The lighthouse is just a two minute walk! There is a historical museum and a gift shop that also provides a huge observation deck where you go up the steps to sit and watch the freighters go by. 5. Playground- In the middle of the village, there was an old fire station turned into a huge playground for kids with picnic tables and grills. Houghton Attractions: Houghton is a short 30 minute drive and there is an airport in the area where you are able to rent a car. This city is on your way up to Eagle Harbor and is where we suggest buying your groceries and anything you may need for the property! There are also gas stations here as well. Fire pit: There are NO fires allowed at the cottages, but down by the beach you can make your own fire with driftwood and/or logs others may have left behind. You can also purchase wood bundles at the General Store in Copper Harbor. Grill: Gas Grill and charcoal grill available. There are also grills at the park. Grocery: Get them in Houghton, MI on your way up to the cabin. 30 min drive from the cabin. Internet: Yes, there is Wi-Fi. Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels. Parking: Very limited, 1 car or truck. If you have a trailer you can park it down by the light house. Pets: Sorry, pets are not welcome due to allergies. Picnic Tables: There are picnic tables near for everyone to enjoy. Privacy: All four cottages are right next to each other. Space: 1 story home, cozy feeling. Swimming: Swimming is definitely recommended at the beautiful beach down the way. There are rafts available in the cottage for you to use. Towels: Yes, we provide towels. It's always good to bring extra though. TV's- There are new TV's in every cottage. Washer & Dryer: There is not a washer & dryer at the property. There are 2 laundromats in Calumet (30 miles south), and so many things to do, see and eat while you wait for your laundry.

From the housekeeping to the online customer service, everyone was superbly fantastic. They were so accommodating with our last minute adjustments not to mention the place was sparkling clean and they thought of everything down to the smallest details. Would definitely stay again!

  • The road to the cabin at the Tioga falls is muddy and horribly maintained. Once you get there it is well worth the troublesome drive. The cabin is perfect. It is comfortable and warm. We easily used the wood burning stove and we were cozy and loved the sound of the rushing water. Be sure to walk the surrounding trails.

Three bedroom cottage on the most beautiful lake in the Keweenaw. Large living/dining area with wood stove, fully equipped kitchen, screen porch and deck. The large yard is perfect for outdoor games; the dock for watching the sunset over Lake Medora. The lake is great for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Great choice for a family vacation or a romantic get-away. The Copper Harbor area is great for summer vacations, and equally popular during the fall color season. Dogs welcome.
Cottage is located on US 41, so it is easy to find and access. Cell phone access is only available via Verizon.
We are just 4 miles south of Copper Harbor, which has wonderful shopping and restaurants and unlimited hiking and mountain biking trails. Just 3 miles from Keweenaw Mt. Lodge golf course and restaurant. September and October are some of the most beautiful times to be at Lake Medora and Copper Harbor, when the fall colors bring tourists from around the country.
  • Jill's Lake Medora House was better than described! We spent a wonderful week exploring Copper Harbor by day and enjoyed the serenity and warmth of the cottage in the evening. The view lf the lake was beautiful. The house was spacious for the two of us and our dog. We did have considerable cool an rainy weather so there was no swimming or evening campfires. We used the woodburning stove almost exclusively inside to heat up the cottage. Things were cozy and we loved it!! Our daughter and her family were camping nearby and were able to come over for grilling and lake fun. The grandkids used the watercrafts provided by Jill. When it got too cool to be outside, there was plenty of room inside to visit and play games. Jill provided everything we needed for the week, and more. It really felt like home and Jill was a wonderful host. Thanks for a wonderfull Copper Harbor experience, Jill!

  • Absolutely perfect in every way for our family. Everything you need to make this your home for the week and in an incredibly beautiful spot. The lake is stunning with sunset views from the dock. Can’t wait to return.

  • Jill’s cottage on Lake Medora is exactly as described. We found her cottage to be plenty of room for 4 adults and a dog. The location was wonderful. We liked being so close to Copper Harbor. We did not have cell service (AT&T) at the house, but many places in town had WiFi and just a few miles down the road we had service if needed. It was nice to unplug and just enjoy our time together. Jill provided many maps, guidebooks, and brochures of local things to do in town. We also enjoyed her collection of bird, tree, and flower books. Fishing off the dock was fun, even if we didn’t catch much. We used the two kayaks which were great. I brought along a standup paddle board and Lake Medora was perfect for it! The mosquitos and flies were pesky at times, but the screened-in porch saved the day. While the bathroom is small, it worked just fine and Jill provided many toiletries. We were not expecting Jill to provide as much as she did (coffee, coffee filters, tea, spices, flour, sugar, butter etc.) so it was a great surprise. We would recommend a stay at Jill’s cottage and would love to visit again.

    Amy2019-07-18T00:00:00Z

HARBOR PINES IN EAGLE HARBOR SLEEPS: 2 BEDROOMS:1 BATHROOMS:1 *RENT 1 CABIN OR ALL 4 TOGETHER Harbor Pines- In honor of the wonderful pines in the area and the glorious breeze that comes in off of Lake Superior which, along with the Light House, are right out the back door! This is a one bedroom that has two twin beds. Harbor Pines also has a bathroom with a single shower, a small kitchen area that includes ONLY a mini-fridge, a microwave and a coffee pot. A message from the owners: “At the turn of the century, our great-grandparents emigrated from Scandinavia and settled in the Keweenaw Peninsula not only building a new life for themselves but literally building many of the churches, schools, stores and homes in the area. Of course many childhood memories include swimming in Lake Superior, picking thimble berries, grilling fresh-caught fish and watching for bears and wildlife in this magical place. Beach Chairs: Each cottage has beach chairs, beach bags, and a line to hang up your beach towels outside! Bed Layout: 2 twin beds Cable: Yes, there is cable! Cell phone service: Cell phone service is generally unreliable in the U.P. Fishing: There is a water spout and hose attached to the home, which is convenient for cleaning your fish. Fire pit: There are NO fires allowed at the cottages, but down by the beach there are fire pits available for your use. Grill: Charcoal grill. There are also grills at the park. Parking: Very limited, 1 car or truck. If you have a trailer you can park it down by the light house. Pets: Sorry, pets are not welcome. Picnic Tables: There are picnic tables near for everyone to enjoy. Privacy: All four cottages are right next to each other. Swimming: Swimming is definitely recommended at the beautiful beach down. There are rafts available in the cottage for you to use. TV's- There are new TV's in every cottage. Washer & Dryer: There is not a washer & dryer at the property. There are 2 laundromats in Calumet (30 miles south), and so many things to do, see and eat while you wait for your laundry. Wi-Fi: Yes there is Wi-Fi. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: Copper Harbor Attractions: Copper Harbor is a town that is a short 14 miles away from the cottages. In Copper Harbor you can find some very unique places that are a must see while you are in town! The Brick House- This is a microbrewery where you can find all of the finest craft beers in the area! The Haus- Authentic German food that you must try! The Bakery- Freshly baked goods are produced here every day. The General Store- Across the street from dining is where you will find an old fashioned general store that has a gas station as well. State Campground- Historical sightings where Indians once were. Eagle Harbor Attractions: Eagle Harbor Restaurant- Come to this very delicious restaurant where you will find the freshest fish and the coldest craft beers! Gift Shop- “The Gem Store” is the perfect gift shop, especially for anyone who is a rock hound. Great Sand Bay- Similar to the Traverse City “Sleeping Bear Dunes”, you will get this feel here! Just a short 3 miles away. Lighthouse- The lighthouse is just a two minute walk! There is a historical museum and a gift shop that also provides a huge observation deck where you go up the steps to sit and watch the freighters go by. • Clean, cute little cabin on the edge of Lake Superior.

    Stephanie2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very attentive and communicative. We had an issue with the WiFi when we arrived (normally wouldn’t be an issue but we lacked cell service in the harbor). The team responded quickly and was able to get it fixed for us. They followed up to make sure it was working for us. They had a binder filled with local tips and info. The cottage was super cute, very clean, and well stocked with towels and sheets. They offered laundry area (we didn’t use) and beach chairs that we didn’t expect- very nice touches. The cottage was a perfect getaway for our sister trip! Would recommend and stay again if I’m back in eagle harbor.

  • Cozy Corner is a great place to spend a week in the UP. Clean, quiet and peaceful. The house is decorated the way you would expect a house way up North on Lake Superior to be decorated. Friendly host, and neighbors make you feel more than welcome. Enjoyed every minute.

  • Nice little venue, great for a few nights, with more than enough to do in the area. The space is super clean and if you plan to picnic away and not cook "at home," the lack of a kitchen is no big deal at all. A lot of nice decorative touches so it feels homey and warm. Staff/support is friendly and efficient. Would rent from this group again without hesitation.

We provide 4 kayaks, 4 SUPs and 2 canoes. There is also a custom built bike trail on the property and bike work station.
Da Beach cabin has a fully equipped modern kitchen. Each room has storage for bags under the beds and an armoire for hanging clothes. All sheets and towels are provided. There is also a small space to store your skis and boards inside the cabin.
  • My family and I had an amazing time at Da Beach. They were great hosts and answered are questions quickly. They are very generous too. As I broke my arm on the second day we were there and had to leave our trip early. They wished me a quick recovery and gave us a free night the next time we come. The place is way better in person and they have a cool book that gives you all the information about the place and what you can do in the area. I highly recommend staying here as I know we will and we want to come back on the summer now too. ☺️

    Nikita2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to stay for a trip to Mount Bohemia. Hosts were amazing. The power happened to go out during a snow storm on our trip and they were over immediately with a heater to make sure we stayed warm till the power returned. Also very quick to clear the snow from the driveway so we could get to the slopes for first chair and enjoy all the fresh snow.

    Kenny2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Da Beach cabin is extremely clean, has very thoughtful amenities, and is close to Copper Harbor and numerous hiking trails. High quality kayaks, SUPs, canoes, and bikes are available for use. We loved sitting in the beach house on colder evenings. I would definitely stay here again.

    Laurie2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a cute little find! The place was spotless and all the extras were amazing. From the high-end mattresses to the extra life vests for the water toys and helmets for the bikes, everything you needed to explore the area was included. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

    Penelope2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Da Beach was a great place for our family of four to stay. Large beach and grounds for exploring and playing. The cabin was clean and had a lot of details thoughtfully considered by the owners. Screened in porch and pump track were an added bonus for fun. We look forward to coming again perhaps in the winter to ski at Bohemia.

    Karen2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
