Our beautiful traditional Dorset farmhouse, comfortably sleeps 14, (plus babies under 2) and is set in large grounds, surrounded by rolling countryside. Located in the heart of Hardy Country and 15-20 minutes from the sea, it's the perfect location for a fabulous family celebration or holiday. England's first natural World Heritage Site; The Jurassic Coast, with its huge range of interesting beaches, is less than 20 minutes away. Bring your mountain bikes to follow the Puddletown Forest trails, half a mile from the house. Dine in style at the Charles II table in the warm turquoise dining room, with portraits of our eccentric ancestors! Outside: play with our giant pik-a-stix, croquet, cricket, rounders & boules, or kick a football into the GOAL NET. (Please bring your own favourite ball). Indoors there's a library of contemporary reference, fiction, & DVDs, good wifi, a mini SNOOKER table, and a chest full of board games, Twister, jigsaws & chess. On chilly nights light the wood-burners in both the large sitting rooms, and snuggle down into our comfy, cosy sofas. Or use our collection of sheet music to play the piano, and recorder, and have a sing-song!
The Farmhouse is set in open countryside in its own grounds, far from the minor road, with three cottages some 300 yards away. Dorchester (6 miles) has Tesco, Waitrose, M&S and the usual range of shops as well as several rainy day attractions for the kids.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Ilsington Farmhouse. A great space for a big group. We especially loved having the fire lit in the library, ensuring cosy evenings. The house was very clean. Cot provided was very helpful. Communication before and during our stay was excellent. Would recommend and hope to stay again soon!

  • Last minute booking and I couldn't have been luckier! Bed was so large and comfy! It was cold feb day but being in Roy's hut made me feel like it was summer again! Clean shower and toilet as well! I didn't get to use it but there was a BBQ available and I will be rebooking for summer that is sure! The view is outstanding, overlooking fields! Kim was one of the best hosts I have ever met on here. Just loved it Highly recommend

Kim was so friendly and relaxed! Great host. If you are staying and not driving just bear in mind that the only supermarket or shop is in Wool!

  • Brilliant place to stay, with lots of little touches. Really cosy.

    Tracy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Other reviewers have said it all! A really VERY good place and excellent value for money. From Pamela’s warm welcome to the many extra thoughtful touches and freebies (eggs and bread, milk, maps, mars bars, fruit, wine punch etc etc). Although we didn’t avail ourselves, there is even decent wine provided at cost price. The room is spacious and stylishly decorated, the shower room and kitchenette modern and well equipped. The futon bed is, well, a futon bed which therefore is pretty firm which will suit most but not all. Highly recommended.

  • We had a lovely, cosy stay in the Green Hut despite the stormy January weather. Good value for money and very well-situated for our desired aim of hiking the Jurassic coast and seeing the best of Dorset. Louise was very helpful, friendly and efficient.

    Susan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Despite staying in The Green Hut on the weekend of Storm Dennis(!), the hut was surprisingly warm and extremely cosy. We only managed to escape the hut for a couple of hours in the storm - just enough time to briefly explore Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove - but felt so at home from the moment we arrived!

    Shauna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Green Hut is gorgeous! Much bigger than the pictures show and a great venue for a cosy getaway. The weather was not great for us unfortunately so we spent a lot of time in the hut and we loved it. 100% recommend to all!

    Paige2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lou was WONDERFUL! The entire experience was one of a lifetime! Forever grateful for Lou and The Green Hut!

  • Beautiful space, cosy and warm inside even though it was frosty outside! Breakfast was excellent and very welcome on a cold morning. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. Winfrith Newburgh is a lovely, quiet village and so close to the coastal path- we spent both days walking by the beaches. Wonderful couple of days.

Newly refurbished home with HOT TUB lovely outdoor space, all rooms comfortable with new memory foam mattresses. Large modern kitchen/diner/conservatory, American fridge & range, 10 minute walk to beach & Quay There is a 3 day minimum but during late July / August there is a 5 day minimum unless it’s a late booking (inquire from June)
So close to the beach & quay, fabulous local places to shop & eat, lovely newly refurbished house, that's well maintained has now finished being updated to a very high standard. The house comfortably sleeps 12 adults (2 sofa beds downstairs) travel cot and spare pull out bed also available
The house is on an unusual street with random shops that sell anything from retro gear to cycles, it has a fabulous local pub with great food & atmosphere, there are all sorts of take aways and a great Indian restaurant within a few minutes walk, the town & beach & quay are only a 10 minute stroll from the house.
  • Joannes place was a perfect home for a group of friends spending time together. The kitchen/dining area was a great space to hang out. The beds were comfy, the house was clean and provided everything we needed. The disco hot tub was the icing on tha cake! I would highly recommend this property, it's also in a really convienient location to be able the access shops, restaurants and the beach.

    Claire2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home and in the perfect location. Joanne was very helpful and friendly.

    Jennifer2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • There was 12 of staying in Joanne's place and there was ample room for all of us. The pictures do not do the house justice. He was bigger than expected with plenty of seating areas for the whole group. The hot tub was an added bonus. The closest town & beach was only a 10 minute walk away with plenty to do to keep us all busy. We were all pleasantly surprised x

    Linzi2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • House is incredible. 9 adults (aged between 23-30) spent 4 days/3 nights here comfortably. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side so we didn't get to spend much time in the garden except for using the amazing hot tub!! Showers are spacious, the bath upstairs is incredible! Beds are comfortable and there's lots of little extras. We all absolutely loved our time there and are already planning our next trip back, hopefully for slightly longer this time. There is a shop directly opposite the house, lots of takeaways on the road and you're a close walk to town or the beach. We were all really impressed by the house, especially the kitchen! Host was fab with great communication, and I loved it. Best birthday ever!

    Kayleigh2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne was the perfect host. House was beautiful and we all had a great time. 10 adults and 2 babies stayed comfortably.

    Kayleigh2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house and spacious for a family get together

    Rachael2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, spacious and bright home with the bonus touch of the hot tub which our children loved. There were 10 of us and we found that we all had our own space when we needed it and there was always a loo free. Did feel the walk to the town and beach took 15 mins but we enjoyed it plus my mum who is in her 70's took a taxi which only cost £4 and the drivers were always very friendly. The bath with the t.v was pure luxury and we had all mod cons in the kitchen meaning we didn't have to come home with tons of dirty washing. We would go back again and all felt that we should have booked longer.

    Rebecca2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne was an excellent host who welcomed us gladly into her beautiful home. A wonderful house with all local amenities close by and the added benefit of a very well loved hot tub. Our children loved the house and we celebrated a 40th birthday comfortably in the beautiful and spacious kitchen. A great trip and we’d happily book and stay again. Thanks so much Joanne for your swift communication, friendliness and allowing us into your home

  • Abbotsburry is beautiful and very well located. The same goes for Jackie's house with the wonderful garden. Usually we book the whole accommodation through Airbnb, so we are self catering. I was skeptical how that would work out. It was great. Jackie spoiled us all around. She and her husband were very open and very helpful; We all felt very well. Highly Recommended.

    Fiona2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • I've now stayed with Andy three or four times and enjoyed it every time. It's close to the centre of Dorchester, a few minutes walking distance but at the same time calm and quiet. Andy is also very well informed about Dorchester and Dorset and it's been a pleasure talking to him and having the benefit of this knowledge.

    David2018-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at Andrew's cosy home. Filled with great books and a very comfortable bed. Andrew was very friendly and hospitable and gave me lots of local tips.

  • Great staying with Andy in his home. Friendly guy, interesting Conversation. Very central. Loved the art work in hall and stairs, many regarding Dorset and Dorchester, and you might be lucky to be home when Andy is playing some beautiful classical piano!

The home offers female only guests a safe, secure and comfortable place to rest their head while visiting Dorset. The bathroom and toilet facilities are downstairs. Porridge is available otherwise Wetherspoons, Taste or Reloved in Dorchester provide a range of breakfast meals. There’s a yummy cafe and health food shop up the road near Godmanstone. The service is as outstanding as the food and drink. Access to Yeovil, Weymouth and Sherborne is straight forward. The X11 bus runs M-F only.
It’s a cosy home surrounded by livestock at the front and back of the house. The bedroom is light and spacious with a rail for hanging towels, a door hooks for jackets. The bed is comfy and the shower is powerful. My cats like to make guests feel welcome and will demand fuss and company. It’s part of their charm! There’s a few doorstops dotted around to prevent cat plucking. Whilst I try and keep a spotless house I cannot always promise you won’t find cat hair in places.
The community is friendly and welcoming.
  • A home away from home - I really enjoyed my stay here, Suzy-Anna is very welcoming and her adorable animals are a delight. The village is peaceful, with a good local pub, and there are wonderful views from the room, which is comfortable and cosy. Will definitely stay here again!

The joy of those guys aside, it’s just a lovely house, with such a nice feel to it. Suzy-Anna couldn’t do enough for me and a weekend away from home in the midst of a storm was made not only bearable but a real treat. 5 stars are not enough. Thank you

  • Suzy-Anna’s place is located in a lovely village moments from Dorchester. It is absolutely spotless and very welcoming, with a lovely guest bedroom to stay in with really relaxing decor. A top pub is a short walk away and there is absolute joy of being around her gorgeous pets. It felt like being in a home and not a short stay.

  • Suzy-Anna's hospitality and the house were beyond my expectations. Suzy-Anna is very warm and welcoming person and went extra mile to make me feel looked after. She's made sure all my needs are met including making me a special leaf tea and giving me a very helpful advice about places to visit locally. The house is stylishly decorated and perfectly clean even though Suzy-Anna has a dog and cats. They are adorable and a great company! The room is spacious with amazing view to a green field and the bed is super comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place! Thank you Suzy-Anna!

  • Lovely relaxing and warm house in a pretty village. Just over the hill from the Cerne Abbas Giant. Kim was a super host and I would definitely stay here again.

    Robin2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Kim’s cottage is a charming property. I received a warm welcome upon arrival and the room was very tidy and clean, the breakfast was also a treat with a selection of hot drinks, cereals and jams. I highly recommend Kim’s place for both short and long stays.

    Jack2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kim was great, very friendly and accepted my request at fairly short notice. The room and house are lovely. I’d definitely stay here again if in the area.

    Paul2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kim was fantastic. Very welcoming yet ensured I had plenty of privacy. The house is beautiful, and I had a room with access to the bathroom and her kitchen, which she had ensured was stocked with food and drink should I not have some myself. I had access to radiator controls in my room so I could set temperature to my liking, and she ensured I had extra blankets should I need as well. I couldn't recommend enough.

This charming property sits right in the heart of Prince Charles's Poundbury estate. It is a two story property less than 100 yards from Queen Mother Square with Waitrose, a Wine merchant, Butcher, Garden Centre, Cafe's and "The Duchess of Cornwall Pub/Restaurant" all in walking distance. The Poundbury is an exiting new estate with many more individual shops to boost, but if you like to walk to the great field and beyond thats perfect too.
Wonderful self contained home with a garden and small terrace for the warmer days.
There is probably no need to go on about the Poundbury estate, as it has been featured many times now on the national News etc.
  • Modern yet homey townhouse, immaculately clean. Parking very straightforward. Neighbourhood felt very safe with some great brunch spots. Also a waitrose round the corner. All in all was perfect!

    Michelle2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly hosts, wonderful location and a warm, clean and well-equipped home. Despite being battered by storm Ciara and storm Dennis, we had a fantastic short break exploring the local area.

    Angela2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, clean modern house a few minutes walk from the centre of Poundbury. The house was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Dee and Baz were really welcoming and we’re very flexible about our check out time the next day. They also responded quickly to all our messages, especially when we’d left something behind after checking out. Unfortunately we were only staying one night but would definitely stay again as the house was well placed for exploring the local area.

Wish I could have stayed longer to make the most of it. Will certainly be back next time I’m visiting my family. Thank you Dee & Baz!

    Louise2020-01-17T00:00:00Z

Perfect location, beautiful inside, immaculate, great communications and many nice amenities. If you need a place to stay in Poundbury or in the Dorchester area, you should book this place. Also, a very short walk to Waitrose.

  • An ideal location for a perfect getaway with incredible views and beautiful walks. The dogs enjoyed it as much as we did! The hot tub overlooking the bay was definitely a highlight. Despite a few minor issues with the accommodation we had the most wonderful relaxing stay. The fireplace was perfect for the rainy nights and it was a very thoughtful touch to provide enough wood for our two-night stay. We would definitely return and would recommend a stay in this lovely place.

  • This Old Lookout is a very special place. We only stayed one night but Peter still put the spa on for us. And the star-gazing was amazing!

Although recently built, this building actually seems older than the farmhouse it's next to. With oak beamed roof trusses and stone walls inside and out there is a sense of permanence about this place. Shortlake Cottage is located just off a quiet no-through-road and looks out over fields to the coast beyond. As well as the views, the SW Coastpath is nearby for walks into Weymouth (3m) and Lulworth Cove (7m). Osmington village with The Sly Fox pub, and a couple of small shops, is about a 5 minutes walk away. The walk to Shortlake Farm's private beach takes just 10 minutes or so across the fields.

  • Beautiful place. Very quiet and close to the sea. Perfect place for relaxing break. Supermarket 5minutes drive and 20minutes from Durdle Door. Warm place even in cold days. Nice kitchen, rooms and lounge.

    Paula2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Shortlake Cottage was absolutely delightful, simply and stylish with lovely features and gorgeous views from the upstairs family room. We stayed here with our 3 year old and 3 month old and had everything we needed to feel happy and at home for a few days. We walked down to the beach which was about 20 minutes (maybe a bit more coming back up!) The beach was deserted except for us and really gorgeous. The cottage is ideally located for sights such as Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, etc as well as towns Weymouth and Dorchester being easy drives away. Peter was easy to get in touch with and very helpful on the couple of occasions we needed him too, I would recommend both the cottage and Peter himself as a host. We ate in most nights in the well equipped kitchen but enjoyed a fantastic meal at the nearby Smugglers Inn on our last night which we would recommend also. ****** LOVED IT! 😊

    Alice2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't do the space and location justice - in a great way! Plenty of room and so close to the bay. The view from the upstairs is brilliant and you can see the bay and over to Portland. We stayed as a couple with our dog, but if you are with another couple then the space and layout would be ideal, ensuring you have privacy as well as a great place to enjoy. Location is excellent for Weymouth, we also went to Swanage whilst there. Would strongly recommend Peters cottage if you are looking for a base to explore the area.

  • This place is gorgeous, the location is fantastic and it was great value for money. It made for a perfect weekend in the area.

    Mick2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Quiet but near to the beach, walks and pub. Plenty of space, well equipped, warm and lovely building.

  • A little piece of perfection in a beautiful part of the world. Check-in was seamless. The interior is beautiful and very spacious. Loved the bathroom! The cleanliness is exceptional! The underfloor heating is very effective and the view from upstairs is breathtaking. The location is perfect - you feel like you are in the middle of the country far away from the hustle and bustle but you still have the convenience of Weymouth close by. I can't recommend Peters place enough!

Lovely self contained annexe set in the beautiful surroundings of the Jurassic coast. There is a cosy double bedroom (which has the option of either a king size or two single beds) a shower room and a well equipped kitchen/dining/living room which has a sofa bed. The property has its own pretty courtyard garden and off road parking for one car.
self contained annexe with easy access to Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast AONB
West Lulworth and its associated Lulworth Cove is a pretty little village with many thatched properties. It does not have street lighting so the night sky can be very spectacular. There are two pubs both of which serve food, a very nice restaurant within easy walking distance of the property (a little expensive but lovely menu) and a bistro nearer to the sea which additionally does take away pizzas . There is also a number of further cafes including Finlays who serve good fish and chips and very delicious Dorset ice cream. (Please note that not everything is open during the winter)
  • Very comfortable annexe in great location. Thoughtfully equipped. Quiet situation but just above the attractive village, (which can be reached down steps just to the right of the property). The thatched roof Castle Inn is a couple of minutes walk, and there is a good restaurant (the Limestone) a few minutes walk away - we had good meals in both. Beautiful countryside around, and about 10 minutes walk to Lulworth Cove.

Luxurious Dorset village suite for two. Quality conversion of a listed stone barn into a completely equipped ground floor self-catering suite in the Dorset AONB. A couple of miles south west of Dorchester Washing Pool Barns are in the heart of Martinstown village, just a one minute walk from the local pub and maybe five minutes walk to the village store and post office. Bridleways, cycle routes and public footpaths are on the doorstep with the Jurassic coastline around five miles further south.
Washing Pool House is a listed Elizabethan farmhouse with adjacent barns. As is typical in this part of Dorset the dairy farmer sold off the original village farmhouse and buildings some time ago and built himself more modern barns and a home outside the village. The old farmhouse and barns have just undergone a complete renovation with premium quality fittings; the farmhouse is our home and the stone barn now houses two completely self contained holiday suites, the Cowshed and the Hayloft. The Cowshed is a ground floor suite with french doors on to the garden. It has a cooking/dining/lounge area fully equipped with double oven, hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer and pod coffee maker. The living area has a fireplace with wood burning stove and two over-size leather snuggler chairs. The bedroom area has a super king size, handmade Vispring bed with Egyptian cotton linen and down duvet. From the bedroom there is a bathroom with tub and large walk-in shower. The bed can be split into twins and a synthetic duvet supplied on request.
We are located in the most beautiful area of Dorset; Maiden Castle and Hardys Monument with its superb views of Chesil Beach and out to sea are just some of the walks from the front door. The village of Martinstown, or more formally Winterbourne St Martinstown, was the birthplace of Nelson’s Admiral Hardy and his towering hilltop monument, just outside the village, offers panoramic views of Chesil Beach, the Isle of Portland, across the Dorset AONB and on a clear day as far as Start Point, Devon. To the east of the village lies the English Heritage site of Maiden Castle, one of the largest and most complex Iron Age hillforts in Europe, a foot path leads from the gate to the castle. The National Cycle Network Route 2 runs through the village. Martinstown is on the outskirts of Dorchester, the county town and a market town. Dorchester is the Roman heart of Dorset boasts a rich heritage and is scattered with visible remnants of its ancient origins, from an impressive Roman villa to a Neolithic henge. Flanked by water meadows and riverside walks to the north Dorchester’s pretty shopping streets still follow the original Roman layout. Dorchester was home to the celebrated author, Thomas Hardy, whose novels Tess of the d’Urbervilles and The Mayor of Casterbridge were both based on the town. The Thomas Hardy trail takes you through Hardy’s Wessex visiting many of the villages and town that were the inspiration to his novels. Going south from the village you quickly reach the Jurassic Coast, World Heritage Site, a hugely diverse and beautiful landscape underpinned by incredible geology of global importance. Some 4 miles south of the village is the huge sweeping form of Chesil Beach stretching for 17 miles along the Jurassic Coast. Within a very few miles the neighbourhood offers plenty more to see and do, including Prince Charles’ Poundbury model town, Hardy's Cottage, Dorchester Museums, Athelhampton, South Dorset Ridgeway, Abbotsbury Swannery and Tropical Gardens, the seaside resort of Weymouth and Portland. and more. Also, within easy reach are Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door, West Bay and Lyme Regis.
  • We had a wonderful long weekend at the washpool barn. Karen has created a fantastic stylish barn conversion and has added wonderful small touches like fresh local bread, butter and eggs. There is a beautiful log fire with firewood supplied and all the applicable are modern and top of the range. Directions and accurate and the location was easy to find. Communication was helpful and responses were rapid. There is a great local pub at the end of the track and it is a beautiful part of the country to explore. We would highly recommend staying here

    Paul2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

  • We really enjoyed our stay at The Cow Shed. The property is finished to a high standard and had the wow factor when you arrive. There was a comprehensive welcome pack with lots of extra treats which were very appreciated. The king size bed was very comfortable with lovely bed linen. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of crockery, glasses, cooking pans and cutlery. The location is very peaceful and picturesque with access to beautiful countryside and the dramatic Jurassic coastline.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. The flat is extremely comfortable and beautifully appointed, with very high-end fixtures - a real pleasure to spend time here. Our hosts were very responsive to our needs, yet not at all intrusive - exactly the right balance. This is a beautiful part of the world, with unspoilt villages, historic towns and idyllic beaches. There’s also a friendly pub literally on your doorstep, serving an excellent Sunday lunch. Highly recommended

    Edward2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely stay at the barn. It was very peaceful and cosy, especially with the fire lit. The kitchen has all the equipment you could need and there is a very useful booklet with local information. Karen also sent us a list of restaurant recommendations in advance. Just in case you don’t spot in the listing, there is no television but there is WiFi so you can stream. We went to Langham Wine Estate for a tour and lunch which was delicious. We also went to a couple of cosy spots in Dorchester - Convivial Rabbit for drinks and board games and Basilico for authentic, wholesome Italian food.

    Marsha2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely base for for exploring the Dorset coast with Dorchester just 10 minutes down the road. The Cowshed is cosy, stylish and has everything you need. The Super King bed was so comfortable and the extra touches - like the breakfast hamper - were a lovely thought. We would definitely come here again!

  • I stayed here for a weekend with my wife and 9 month old baby and it was perfect for us. Darren & Wing had thought of everything and were so friendly and welcoming. We could tell they really care and appreciate the people who stay. Check in and check out was a breeze, they were there for both but had already advised us of what to do if they weren't. The place was lovely, absolutely immaculate and looked to have been decorated recently. Highchair and travel cot were available on request which was a nice touch! Everything we could have needed was available in the kitchen, with instructions available for the appliances if required. If you don't want to cook then you don't have to worry, as they had put together a guide of places to dine locally, whether it's eat out or takeaway. The location is ideal, about a 10 minute walk from Brewery Square where there's loads of places to eat and about 1 mile from Tesco. All in all had everything we needed so will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

Honeysuckle Lodge is a unique blend of luxury mixed with the classic beach/shepherds hut design. It combines spa like experiences such as drenching shower and a hot tub surrounded by living walls; with home from home comforts such as cosy duvets, soft pillows and HD TV with Amazon Fire stick. Located on the site of an 18th Century Grade II listed building, in a small village with a fantastic local pub and village shop. Guests self check-in and out.
The lodge although small boasts a brand new en-suit with drenching rain shower head, stone sink and exposed copper piping. There is a double bed with cosy bedding, tea making facilities, Nespresso coffee machine and light continental breakfast. The Lodge also has use of a hot tub located just outside the lodge, surrounded by a living wall which gives privacy and a unique jungle feel. The Lodge is built in the grounds of our circa 18th Century Grade II Listed Thatched house which is located next to the A354 - this does mean that you will hear cars and often farm machinery passing during the day and sometimes at night.
The Royal Oak pub is the best local you could ask for. Serving fantastic food and drink and run by very friendly people. There is also a village shop too. All of which is within 2-3 minutes walk.
  • We had a lovely stay here, it looks exactly as it does in the pictures! The location is perfect with so much to do just 20 minutes away in any direction! The hot tub was lovely after a day of exploring and the bed was super comfy. The extra bits (breakfast, orange juice and a bottle of wine) are super thoughtful. The Royal Oak does lovely food and everyone should 100% visit. We had a great time here, our only niggle was that it took ages for our towels and swimwear to dry, but apart from that we would stay again.

  • Such a lovely stay, the perfect little getaway! Also we really recommend The Royal Oak Pub just down the road from the lodge, we had the most gorgeous food! We would definitely stay again!

  • Incredible little lodge, perfect for a relaxing couples’ break. Built by the hosts, it’s clear that a lot of thought went into the experience of their guests. If you’re happy to drive for 20 minutes in any direction then there are endless options for day trips. The local pub was a great recommendation and just a short walk from the accommodation. To all future guests - kick back and enjoy!

    Sam2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely little Airbnb! The decor is so cosy and Jeremy and Chloe have done a wonderful job creating this little oasis. The hot tub is a thankful retreat after a long walk in the rain. Milborne is a delightful town, free from masses of tourists, and full of history and poetic scenery. Highly recommend visiting nearby Milton Abbey and Durdle Door. One note- there isn’t really a place to eat inside the bnb, but if you aren’t opposed to bed snacks then you’ll have a grand time!

    Lillith2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much! Jeremy was the perfect host and we couldn’t have asked for a better night away. The lodge is amazing, so well equipped and the decor is modern and stylish, with lovely little touches everywhere! We really appreciated the wine, milk and orange juice in the fridge too. If you’re staying on a Sunday be sure to try the fantastic carvery at The Royal Oak pub just a stones throw away from the lodge. Overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back 5*

Welcome to the Trevally Room. We are Jess and Ash, and we have recently rebuilt our home 'Copperstones'. It really has been a labour of love, so we are excited to now be offering AirBNB in our spare bedrooms since spring 2019. We are located just 8 miles from Weymouth and the stunning Jurassic coastline. Dorchester itself is a friendly county town with a range of restaurants and bars, as well as fantastic transport links within walking distance of our home, to Bristol, Bath, London, etc.
The guest accommodation is all on the ground floor. The large double bedroom has a king-sized futon-style bed with extra-deep mattress, plenty of storage furniture, TV and tea-coffee making facilities. The interior decoration is classic yet modern, painted in calming Farrow and Ball colours. The main bathroom is next door to the bedroom and is for your exclusive use. Features include a large roll-top tin bath (definitely big enough for two!) and huge walk-in wet-room, along with a roll-top tin sink and toilet. Please note that there is a single step into the bathroom. There is also a cloakroom next door to your bathroom, containing an additional (shared) toilet. We supply a breakfast bag every morning of your stay, delivered to your room. This contains (for each person) a piece of fresh fruit, a bottle of fresh juice or breakfast smoothie, and a granola bar/yoghurt and granola pot/porridge pot or similar. Please note that this is not a self-catering listing. General access to our living room/kitchen/dining room is not included in your booking unless you would like to pay additional charges to dine with us - if so, please message us in advance of your stay to arrange. If you prefer something cooked in the morning, there are plenty of wonderful breakfast options in the nearby town (5-10 mins walk away). We can also recommend plenty of lovely eateries and local pubs, and your room will hold information about transport routes and things to do while you are in West Dorset. You can find all this information in advance of your stay in our ‘Copperstones Guidebook’, found within this listing. Please Note - At the time of writing this (December 2019) we are still in the process of landscaping the exterior of our property, including our front drive. This means that our outdoor spaces are not finished yet, so please be aware of this. We don't think they will impact negatively on your stay, particularly if you are coming to Dorset to get out and about and explore, or for work purposes. However, if you are wanting to simply laze about in a garden, we will not be your ideal choice. We feel it is important to be upfront with you about this. If you are unsure, please ask us. Your car can still be parked on our drive safely. If you are bringing more than one car, the roads outside our house offer free parking at all times.
Dorchester is a very up-and-coming county town, and the Brewery Square development offers some brilliant coffee shops, restaurants and bars. This is just a 5 minute walk away. From there you can also take the train to Weymouth which has a charming quay and long sandy beach, or the bus to Bridport, West Bay (home of the TV series Broadchurch) and Lyme Regis with it's windswept cob. We are in the heart of Hardy Country, with plenty of historic sights to visit, including Maumbury Rings (almost next door!), Maiden Castle, Thomas Hardy's cottage, Hardy's Monument, and the Cerne Abbas Giant. Train links can also take you to Poole, Bournemouth, Southampton, Bristol, Bath and beyond.
  • The venue was really amazing we love to spend lots of the time in the big bathroom! We fit both in the big bath tub that was really nice. Jess and Ash are very friendly and they thought about everything. Love to come back here

    Kim2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jessies House was very comfortable and relaxing. They were very welcoming and helpful as soon as we got there and we very much enjoyed the added touches of the bath tub and the breakfast bag :).

    Faye2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t recommend this place enough! Jess and Ash are brilliant hosts, friendly and welcoming and ready with helpful recommendations for meals out and sights to see in the local area. The house is absolutely stunning and the guest accommodation is to a very high standard. The bedroom is lovely, spacious and with a comfy bed. The bathroom was so amazing I could have happily lived in it! We were provided with breakfast bags each morning too, unusual for an air bnb and very gratefully received. Great location too, within easy walking distance from a variety of restaurants.

    Katie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jessie and Ash are the best hosts - really couldn't have asked for more, and hard to know where to begin in listing the virtues of this stay! Their home is truly beautiful, and the guest room is super clean, spacious, and really well equipped with a very comfy bed. Likewise the private bathroom and glorious bathtub!! Lots of thoughtful details included - they provided a breakfast bag of fruit, cereal bar and smoothie each morning too, and tweaked it for me, being vegan. Generous is the key word - and comes from Jessie and Ash themselves who are incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful and easy hosts. It's also a great, easy location, a few minutes walk from the train station and town, and a good base for sightseeing further afield too, even without transport. I could go on, but can't recommend highly enough - I hope to stay again, and thanks both for looking after me so well!

    Claire2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jess and Ash are absolutely the best hosts I have ever encountered with Air BnB. From the warm welcome to the small thoughtful breakfast bags, nothing was too much trouble. Then you look at the actual house and accommodation! It’s outstanding! Would definitely stay again.

    Karl2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay. Clean. Great hospitality. Stylish place. Highly recommended!

  • Jessie and Ash are an amazing host . From the cleanliness and good fragrance that welcomes you to the extra luxurious comfort the room offers . The ambience is excellent and location very central. Their hospitality arguably the best I have experienced and they are too kind and resourceful. Jessie and Ash made Dorchester memorable and indeed I plan to re visit just to experience all these again . This was a 7 star hospitality and they comfortably thick all the boxes . Thank you Jessie and Ash for having me in your home 🤗

  • We had the most amazing stay at the eco Lodge. It had everything we could have wished for and more. The location was perfect and so peaceful and the lodge was so well decorated and comfortable. The bed was huge and you could look at the stars from the bed at night, the bath was perfect for relaxing with a book and it had a powerful rail fall shower too. We lit the fire and read our books and had the perfect getaway for our 8 year anniversary. Mervyn was a great host and added touches like a welcome basket with locally sorced produce which just made the stay that extra bit better. We can't wait to return in the future. Thankyou so much for having us!

    Jade2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most magical stay at the beautiful house with deers in front our bedroom windows every day. Surrounded by fields and forest and through the facilities to light a fire in the evenings, Mervyn’s place is perfect to unwind, relax, and to get inspired. We were almost glad it rained so much as we could use it for an excuse to stay. Thank you! Ana and Lucas

    Ana Mari2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Oh my goodness what a marvellous stay we had! The tree house is so stunning - it has everything you could possible need for a relaxing weekend away. Mervyn was so great at communicating and was so helpful with any questions we had. Would highly recommend you stay here if you’re in Dorset! Thank you for having us :)

    Em2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here a couple of weeks ago for my husbands 40th birthday. I wanted to stay somewhere a little different and this was it. It was so much nicer than I was expecting and so much bigger. For us we had perfect weather, it was raining all weekend, and we just chilled and played board games and watched films. There is loads of books and board games for you to take advantage off. It was perfect for a weekend getaway from normal life. Mervyn was a wonderful host, always quick to answer any questions. We had a minor problem but it was sorted straight away and it wasn’t the fault of the owners, but it was dealt with professionally and quickly. There’s only 2 things I would change personally: 1) The hot tub was a downfall for us, took too long to heat so didn’t get to use it. I get that it’s eco friendly but wonder if there’s a better option rather than heating with fire? 2)The bedroom has a velux window, wonderful to watch the stars at night, but let’s lots of light in the morning, which some people like, but we personally like our bedroom dark. So I would suggest a blind so that you can choose if you want it bright in the morning or not. These are me being really picky as honestly here’s not a lot to complain about. I would definitely come back again! We loved it. Xxx

    Amy2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place for a break away. Even though the weather was horrendous we had a great time, cooking in the kitchen and playing board games by the roaring fire. Would love to come back in the summer and make use of the poop deck BBQ and get the hot tub fired up

    Jessica2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you are considering booking the Treetops Eco Lodge, do! It is a beautiful space - impossible to not switch off and thoroughly relax once you are in. We cant wait to return. Mervyn is a brilliant host and his commitment to guests enjoying their stay is clear to see.

    Lydia2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree House is wonderful, a really relaxing few days by the log fire in a very cute little village. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I hope I’ll be back again soon.

    Laura2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • You need to book this place !! The excitement mounts as you climb the stairs. Once inside - Wow ! A great comfortable cozy stay awaits you. From the fully fitted kitchen to the wood burner to the massive comfy bed. You will not want to leave ! A hot tub with a cold beer staring at the stars takes some beating. Open the door to the wood from the bedroom and wait for the deer ! Mervyn is the perfect host too, on hand with any problems but very happy to leave us to it. Perfect break and recharge. Highly recommend !

The house is set just off the main High street in an idyllic, cobbled lane that leads to the river. From here you can walk along the river walks crossing the ancient water meadows to reach open country side.
  • We really enjoyed our stay in the delightful ‘Little House’ - it’s very cosy and warm and has everything you need. Alex answered any queries immediately and there were nice touches, flowers and biscuits left for us - thank you! Fab location right in the centre of Dorchester, loads of places to eat and only 20 mins to the stunning Dorset coastline. Highly recommend

  • Lovely little place within walking distance of everything. I loved the walk along the Frome. Everything was clean and well organised, and even though it is quite small, we managed two people, two suitcases and a clothes horse full of washing without much difficulty. Would recommend

  • The Little House is a wonderful space, perfect for a few days as a couple. Location in central Dorchester worked well for us to explore the Jurassic Coast in a car. The house was stylish and had everything we could have needed.

  • The Little House does what the name suggests - it's a compact but spotless and well-appointed small retreat in a quiet spot just back from Dorchester High St, close to facilities, bars and restaurants. Alex has furnished it well and is very responsive and helpful. A fine choice in west Dorset.

Named 'The Cartshed', it has been converted from an old barn. It retains a sense of history both inside and out, with its stone walls and flagstone floors. There is accommodation for six people plus a cot. NEW: The Cartshed now has a HOT TUB in the garden all inclusive within the rental fee.
It is ideally suited for walks to the white horse, and along the coast path towards Lulworth (E) and Weymouth (W). Clients have the added benefit of private parking at Eweleaze Farm for access to the secluded beach.
  • Lovely barn conversion with lots of character, great location - close to Durdle door and other walks - nice and warm with great central heating and a fireplace. Loved the hot tub which was up and running when we arrived!

The owner has thought of absolutely everything to make your stay enjoyable. Great base from which to explore. I would highly recommend taking a stroll to the local 'Thimble Inn' for a nice meal.

  • I cant recommend this place enough. Andrea is so lovely and friendly. There is anything you could possibly want in the place and it is immaculately clean. We had the best sleep we have had in a long time and will gladly return. Even though we had a storm while there, we were happy to watch movies in the comfort of the place. We even got a cake on arrival. There were lots of well thought out amenities.

    Megan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea’s hospitality made you feel like you’re at home & her recommendations from where to eat to what to do around the area makes the trip so much easier. You cant ask for more from a west country escape!

  • Andrea is an excellent host and thinks of everything.. kingfisher lodge is a perfect retreat set in a stunning location

    Martyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 4 nights stay at the cosy and warm cottage. We have had some amazing stays and hosts in the past via Airbnb but this stay was made all the more special by how welcoming Andrea and her husband were and all the thoughtful touches. The cottage itself is well located not far from the Jurassic coast. The place is sparkling clean with a modern shower, kitchen and well appointed for both staying in, sleeping and cooking. The shower is nice, powerful and hot. Wifi is pretty fast and you can sign in to your own Netflix, prime accounts on the TV for those wet days if you stay in. The cottage is in the owner's property and they are at hand for any needs but there is absolute privacy as well. I would thoroughly recommend this stay. Our boy still talks about Nala :)
