  • It’s a 5 star review from all of the ladies on Claires Hen that took place last weekend. We had the most amazing weekend with your house being the highlight. From the decor, to the little touches to the fresh cakes on arrival it was over and above what we could have asked for. The hot tub was a hugh hit and all the contacts re taxis, places to eat etc made the visit so smooth. We will be back later this year for another stay. Thanks again for being an fantastic host and making our Friends hen party the best possible weekend ever. Colley.

  • Caroline’s house was absolutely stunning. She had arrived and had the house sitting perfectly, a playlist on, the fire on, fresh cakes, the lights on, Champagne on ice and further decor. Caroline was easy to get in contact with and answered all my queries quickly! The bride was over the moon with the house, it’s slept all 19 of us comfortably! I will definitely recommend this house to other ladies planning a hen do or event! Couldn’t thank her enough!!

  • Great stay for my friends hen party. The house was perfect for us, Caroline went above & beyond to provide a great experience. Everyone loved the place, we’ll definitely be returning!

  • Our stay in Lough View was fantastic. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated and it was clean, comfy and warm. Caroline was a great host who gave us lots of tips before our arrival. The kids loved the sweetie cupboard and the hot tub was a hit! Many thanks.

  • The house was just beautiful. So tastefully decorated and cosy with lots of extra touches. We were greeted with homemade cupcakes and bubbly and there was a sweet cabinet and chocolates left out in all of the rooms. Perfect for a hen Party or girls night away as there are plenty of showers and bathrooms for getting ready. The hot tub was fabulous for relaxing in. Caroline was a great host and put loads of effort in to preparing the house for us and there were lovely xmas decorations up all around the house. Caroline helped us organise a local taxi for going in to carlingford and recommended restaurants etc. Everyone in our group said they would love to come back again. Thanks Caroline and odie

  • Absolutely amazing place... Caroline was great at responding to my messages and made our weekend away for my sisters 30th birthday an unforgettable one. All the small touches were just fabulous, from the board at the door saying happy birthday, fresh baked Christmas cupcakes, large bottle of champagne, bottle of pink prosecco, chocolates on each of the pillows, the table being set up for afternoon tea and she even organised for the house to be kittet out in balloons. I cannot recommend this place enough it truly is something else.

  • Great house for a family reunion. Caroline was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay.

Two bedrooms accommodating 6 people above a quaint popular cafe in the centre of Carlingford. The rate (from €40) quoted is per person per night based on 3 or more sharing and including breakfast in the cafe. We are located directly beside Carlingford’s Main Street, Restaurants, pubs and family-friendly activities are all within walking distance of the B&B. The accommodation is most suitable for groups and families with older children as the rooms are on the second floor.
The two rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. Room 1 has a double and single bed and room 2 has 3 single beds. There is a bathroom with a toilet and shower on this floor and a separate toilet on the second floor, there are also hand basins in both bedrooms.
The street is a picturesque pedestrian only street in the heart of the village. It is mostly peaceful but can be noisy on a Saturday night for a period after pubs have shut. There is a vibrant night life scene in Carlingford at the weekends. There is a wide variety of pubs and restaurants suiting all tastes. There are two chip shops and a Chinese take away in the village. Guests are welcome to eat take away food in the small dining room on the first floor.
  • Lovely comfortable no fuss accommodation right in the heart of Carlingford. Great complimentary breakfast in cafe too. We were attending a wedding in the Four Seasons Carlingford, 4-5min walk from Stephen’s place so it suited us perfectly. Will stay there again when in Carlingford.

    Sean2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Liberty Café B&B suited us very well for our recent 5 night stay. The space was very large for just the two of us; there were beds enough for 5! Stephen, Donna, and all the staff were terrific — warm and hospitable. We loved being able to explore Carlingford from right in the midst of the shops and pubs. Breakfast in the café was a real treat every day.

    Brenda2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • me and my family had a great one night stay at the weekend. The location is perfect right central of town. The rooms were clean, easy to access and comfortable. As you would expect with Carlingford, from the front room you could get a bit of noise, but with earplugs it was no issue. Like I say though, it's to be expected with the location & the nightlife that comes along with it! Stephen was great with communication before, throughout and after our stay. Would highly recommend staying here!

  • A cracking wee treehouse that ideally would have been amazing but our booking was at the beginning of the Covid19 scare and it kind of put a dampener on it. But we will definitely return. Lively hosts with great contact. Thank you.

    Joanne2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is a lovely little getaway in beautiful surroundings. We stayed in February so it was cold outside but very cosy in the treehouse. We made use of the kitchen facilities to make dinner and it was lovely to sit and eat at the window looking out on the trees and countryside. My little daughter just loved the novelty of staying in a treehouse, and so did I! Padraig and Eileen were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The nearby Templetown beach was beautiful and deserted. I heard the pub down the road does nice food, but in winter this is only on weekends. Also Barry's shop does great ice cream in spring/ summer. There is also wifi and tv in the treehouse should you need them. We will definitely be back to stay! Thank you!

    Zoe2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was perfect. Padraig and his family were so lovely, warm and accommodating. The treehouse itself was cosy and warmed up quickly. Beautiful views from it in the morning 😊 Padraig gave us a jar of honey from his bees. Will definitely return!

  • Despite a misunderstanding with our booking, we still were accomadated and enjoyed a great stay in the Swallows Return. It was very spacious for us three and a very enjoyable stay.

  • We stayed in this dream house after visiting Northern Ireland during the weekend. We checked in later than expected and Padraig was very friendly and helpful. The house was immaculate and hot. It has towels, sheets and comforters. Undoubtedly an incredible experience and recommended to anyone who has the opportunity to venture to know a little more about Ireland.

Will have to return in summer to try out the balcony. Perfect location for the pubs in town, but we couldn’t wait to get back, light the fire & cosy up on the sofa. Everything we needed for a relaxing break. Thanks to the host for swift communication & a lovely house.

    Melissa2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • The boat house was SO CUTE! It was perfectly decorated for being on the water and it was sparkling clean. Violetmarie went out of her way to give us local recommendations and let us know that there was an Irish band playing in town that night, which was a nice touch. The only complaint I have was that the washer was broken and we desperately needed to do laundry from our travels. However, she was very kind and apologetic about the washer and let us know it was just missing a part. Other than that, it was great!

    Vic2020-01-03T00:00:00Z

  • Many thanks to Una & Declan (and JoJo the pup) for a fantastic stay at Glenshee Cottage. Location of this cottage is fantastic and only a couple minutes drive or a few minutes walk from the town. Whilst the details of the property were very accurate there was much more than we expected. Very well furnished throughout. Una had checked our arrival time and had a very welcome fired up wood burner waiting for us. Also milk in fridge and some healthy fruity snacks. The property was spotless throughout and the accessories etc. in kitchen were far more than we required but great to have. Glenshee Cottage is pet friendly and we had our pup with us who had a ball. As for DVD choice - this was superb! Glenshee Cottage was a home from home - warm, inviting, welcoming, cosy and relaxing. We will definitely be back.

  • Cottage is in a beautiful location with views over the mountains which is amazing! Cottage is located 2 minutes drive from Carlingford centre/ town or around a 8/10minute walk which is very handy! Cottage is lovely, the wood burner fire makes it feel very cosy and there is a lovely amount of space to in the cottage. Una was fantastic and offered us a lift to town and also popped round to give matchsticks when we had ran out, which was very much appreciated. Our dog paddy also loved the stay as much as us and we throughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and the walks around Carlingford. Would recommend “fishy dishy” restaurant! Would love to come and stay in the warmer months!

  • Una's place was very cozy and tastefully decorated. Basic staples for cooking, and tea and coffee were provided, which was much appreciated. Nice quiet location and an easy ten minute walk into the village center. We very much enjoyed our stay!

Tom's Cabin is a cosy, luxury log cabin located on the side of Slieve Foy, only a mile from the medieval village of Carlingford and all its bars and restaurants. From the cabin there are spectacular views of Carlingford Lough, the Mourne Mountains and the Irish Sea. The cabin is next to our house but completely private. It is centrally heated and finished to a high standard with all you need to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing stay in a picturesque setting.
  • We stayed in toms cabin for 2 nights. The place was absolutely amazing. There just so happened to be a storm this weekend but the cabin was still really toasty and cozy. The place is really private and a lovely break from city living! What made it extra special was the spectacular view and the thoughtful breakfast treats and drinks left for us by mark and niki! Would definitely return.

  • Toms cabin was the perfect spot to wind down our busy trip throughout Ireland . The personal touches made this stay remarkable . Toms hospitality far exceeded previous experiences with air b & b . The area provided the best seafood dining we have had . The scenery speaks for itself and we didn’t want to leave . The cabin itself provided all necessary accommodations and supplies . Very warm and Cosy and immaculately clean .

  • Cannot recommend this place highly enough. The most perfect cabin in the most beautiful setting, finished to such a high spec, really breathtaking views of the changing lough, mists rolling in, such peace and tranquility, quintessential dramatic Irish scenery. The cabin is clean and very comfortable, equipped with a cosy, relaxing seating area. We ate outside, listened to music on the speaker, practised yoga on the decking and my partner could even catch Match Of The Day on the Sky TV. Mark and Niki could not have been more accommodating, the most welcoming and gorgeous hosts. No words, just go.

    Ruth2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I travelled to Carlingford by public transport, Mark kindly collected me. On arrival I was presented with the most amazing place, views and a spotless place with everything one would need. Plus a bottle of wine and some food. I don’t like telling anyone how good this place is, as I want to go back. The quality of the cabin is first class.

  • I really enjoyed my weekend stay in Tom's cabin. Such a peaceful little spot. Some very thoughtful touches....chocolate biscuits, soda bread and wine :) Mark and Nikki were especially helpful and kind. Nikki dropped us off by car to the start point of a walk which was really sweet of her. I would recommend a stay here without hesitation.

    Fiona2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute dream accommodation! So comfortable and a beautiful view, indescribable! Nikki and Marc are so nice hosts we felt very well and can only recommend this great accommodation! We did not want to leave.

  • Absolutely fantastic stay, Martins Place is just dreamy! Perfect location, only 5-10 minute walk to the pubs! Lots of space, perfect for large get togethers (there was 12 of us and we had loads of space)! The balcony and views are outstanding and completely exceeded our expectations! the flexible check in and late check out is great for the hangovers and so easy with the lock box! All of the bedrooms where great, with all bar 1 having an en-suite, so no delays in getting ready! A great touch with the electric blankets- definitely appreciated by all of us! Perfect for a Saturday night on the town and a cosy Sunday relaxing by the fire. We all loved it, amazing memories made and we are already planning the next trip! Thanks for a great weekend! 100% would recommend martins place!

  • Beautiful, modern house. Spotless clean, with all modern needs. Beautiful view, we enjoyed more to stay around house and enjoy the view from the terrace, than walking around...:) Skypark by 15-20 min walking, for a full day of fun. Was a short stay, but really enjoyed. Small village, but with lot of pubs...:) We just wanted to be more like a week or two...:) Recommend.

  • Perfect place for a family 40th birthday get away with three other couples. The beds were unbelievably comfortable & Anita had everything you could think of within the house. The house is situated just a few minutes walk to the town centre. If I was returning to the area, I would look into booking this house again both for gatherings & with my family.

    Amy-Louise2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, a setup. Would definitely recommend

    Dave2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic weekend in Anita's place. The house is spacious, clean and so well equipped. Being only a few minutes walk into town it is in the perfect location. Anita's communication was brilliant and we had a great time.

    Claire2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Anitas place is excellent! Four spacious rooms with double beds made it perfect for 8 friends sharing! The photos do not do the house justice, it is absolutely beautiful with a nice garden outside which can definitely be used more than we did in December. Anita was quick to respond when we had an issue. There were lots of small touches like coffee, milk, shampoo etc which really helped with our stay. Would highly recommend and only 5 mins walk to village centre.

    Charlotte2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • It is no surprise that Anita is a super host. Her house is beautiful and immaculate with everything you need. We stayed over Christmas and the things we forgot were quickly found in the house. It is a little walk to the town and only half an hour by car to Newry. But the house is the star. I hope to stay again in the future. Thanks Anita. X

The Watch House is a beautiful historic home on the edge of Carlingford Lough, once a part of King Johns Castle with a beautiful view you can enjoy a cozy break away in a medieval town house on the waters edge. The Watch House is less than a 2 minute walk to the heart of Carlingford where you are spoilt for choice of places to eat / drink or to simply explore one of Ireland's most picturesque towns.
The Watch House is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom home that sleeps 5 people. With an idyllic location less than 2 minutes walk to the heart of Carlingford the Watch House is perfect for all types of visitors. Once a part of king Johns castle this medieval home is comfy cozy and well equipt for your long or short stay.
  • Two of us spent one night at the Watch House. Paul gave us an overview of the house’s history and for us it was great to stay at a place that has so much character. The apartment overlooks the bay and is smartly decorated with a nautical theme. We really liked the location. Just a couple minutes walking to the action, but far enough away that there wasn’t much traffic passing by. We can definitely recommend the Watch House to others!

    Larry2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Watch House is wonderful. Sitting in the town/village of Carlingford and looking out onto the harbour - the setting is ideal for a family or small group stay. Beautifully decorated with high ceilings that gives the place a very spacious feel. The sitting room with its wood burning stove between two picturesque windows is the perfect place to relax and/or spend time with family and friends.

  • A lovely convenient stay . House very clean and comfortable , a couple of mins walk the bars and restaurant. When staying in Carlingford don’t rely on taxis , they are hard to get and some drivers are downright rude . Would certainly recommend Violetmarie’ s though . Very comfortable for 4/5 people .

    Colm2019-09-29T00:00:00Z

Situated by the water in Omeath, this end of terrace house is in a quiet area on the edge of the village. 2 minutes walk to the local beach and amenities including shops, pubs & cafe. Great walking trail to Carlingford and treks through the mountains
  • We were quite comfortable in the second floor master bedroom of Elizabeth’s townhouse right on the coast in Omeath. There’s a lovely view from the shared space downstairs, rain or shine, and a walkable pub. As others have noted, the en suite bathroom is very small, but we were happy to see that is partly because the shower is a good size (quite a bit larger than the tiny corner showers that are often found). Elizabeth went well beyond expectations as a hostess. We loved the food, local tips, and especially the conversation. Enjoy!

    Barry2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was a fantastic host. She is extremely friendly & made our stay very comfortable. Would highly recommend staying with Elizabeth.

    Niall2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was so welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay with her. The views from her house across Carlingford Lough to Warrenpoint are breathtaking. Elizabeth is quite a character and we really enjoyed chatting to her about Ireland, her life, her family and her time in Australia!

    Kathryn2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's house is beautifully located on Carlingford Lough, in a quiet area with wonderful views of the mountains across the lough and plenty to see and do in the vicinity. Great hospitality, Elizabeth is a lovely host who cooks yummy Irish breakfasts. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed (a bit on the short side though if you're taller than 1m90 ;)) and an en-suite bathroom. Warmly recommended!

    Irene2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot stress enough how incredible of a host Elizabeth was. The home was very comfortable, quiet and spotless. The location right by the water was perfect. Elizabeth was very gracious and offered us an amazing Irish breakfast every morning. We enjoyed talking with Elizabeth over tea! She is such a wonderful host!

    Sebastian2019-09-01T00:00:00Z

  • We only stayed for 1 night but loved everything about it. The room was large and very comfortable with a private bathroom. The house is really nice and right on the water with great views and its right at the beginning of the omeath to carlingford greenway for anyone who wants to walk that route. Breakfast was really good and Elizabeth is really nice and we had a few great chats. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Everything was amazing and we would highly recommend to stay here.

Older style cottage in a quiet area of the village, within walking distance of all amenities. • We had a really lovely weekend in this beautiful cosy home full of character and tasteful touches. It is in a perfect location minutes away from everything in Carlingford - a very pretty old village. We spent a lot of time in the house, in front of the wood burning stove, with a glass of red playing guitars. Highly recommend and would def stay again. The only issue was there are plumbing issues in the area with the old system. We had to call Jenis who had someone round within 5 minutes, and the problem was sorted in 10mins. Thank you Orla for the memorable stay.

  • A lovely cosy cottage, with a stunning view over Carlingford Lough. Anne is a brilliant host; unfortunately we didn't get to meet her but she was really helpful prior to our arrival and the little extra thoughtful touches in the cottage made our stay extra special. In particular, we were staying with our 18 month old son and Anne provided a cot, high chair and baby blankets, as well as a cute teddy bear! I would highly recommend a stay at Wildrose Cottage.

My place is close to Omeath village, between Newry, Northern Ireland and Dundalk, Republic of Ireland. Set in a quiet location, lovely ambiance and plenty of outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, walkers, golfers, cyclists and ONE SMALL dog. It offers a work from home alternative. In these strange COVID-19 times I am taking extra care, above and beyond the normal cleaning, to disinfect all surfaces in regular use like light switches, remote controls and door handles.
You have the entire cottage and garden all to yourself
A very quiet countryside location which is only 8 minutes drive from the City of Newry in Northern Ireland, with its shopping centres, high street shops, multi screen cinema, cafés and restaurants. Medieval Carlingford is 10 minutes drive in the opposite direction.
  • Ferryhill cottage is fantastic. Beautiful, clean, homely with a very friendly informative host. We were there during a storm but the multi fuel stove in the living room really was great and added to the cottage environment. Loved it.

  • We spent one night with our 1.5 year old son in this beautiful landscape. We were greeted very friendly by the family. Our son had a lot of fun with the dear, calm and old dog, the ponies, the pigs, chickens and the two daughters of the family. The room was very large and comfortably furnished. Some toys for younger and older children were an added plus. Everything was very clean. Directly behind the house you could walk between sheep in the mountains. We can fully recommend this accommodation.

  • This is a really lovely area- near Carlingford Lough and some of the prettiest scenery we saw in our week in Ireland. We would have loved to stay longer to enjoy the area more. • Absolutely amazing and so much better than we could have hoped. The view is stunning and the family is very warm and welcomming. They gave us good advice to were we could have a lovely dinner, and what to see in Carlingford. In the morning we had a good cup of coffee and the best Irish breakfast there is. The room was big with a good view. We had our own private bathroom which was very clean. The next morning we went for a 3 hour walk, the trail starts at the accomodation. Lloyd is a very good guide! The hike took our breath away. This is a place were we regret we didn’t book more nights. Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable. You are very kind people, we loved it.

Peaceful retreat in the Irish countryside situated in an area of outstanding beauty. The perfect place to get away from it all. This much loved family holiday home is situated within easy reach of both Dublin and Belfast and with easy access to the famous Mourne mountains. The property is located just a few short kilometres from the historic medieval village of Carlingford, a “European destination of excellence”, well known for its traditional pubs and seafood restaurants.
The house is set in an acre of land so plenty of space for kids to run around. There are plenty of walks for those who like walking. The Molly Loop and Rooskey Loop walks are only 100 yards from the front garden. Shelling Hill beach is also just a couple of km away. There are lots of outdoor pursuits, Carlingford Adventure centre Sky-park, with its high ropes, zip wires and other activities is 2 minutes drive away. In Carlingford itself the Lough offers a wide range of watersports for all ages.
The house is situated on a country road nestled into the mountain. It has lots of space around it and fantastic views of the countryside and sea from the house. It’s a perfect getaway but with easy access to Carlingford with its traditional pubs, restaurants and activities / a fantastic holiday home for all the family.

Carlingford is a European Destination of Excellence. The magical town lies in Ireland's Northeast corner of Country Louth which is midway between Dublin and Belfast, right at the beginning of Ireland's Ancient East. Carlingford and the Cooley Peninsular, the Land Of Giants, has a rich history with many famous Celtic Heroes and legends to its tribute. The town has many excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes and the night life is festive and well known in Ireland for its great craic. Local Eateries are committed to the "eat local" food movement. The area is ideal for families, couples and romantic getaways alike. There are many adventure and outdoor activities available both on and off Carlingford Lough suitable for the whole family. The cottage has a small river running through the garden which my children have played in for ages and are convinced found fairies. I invite all children to join the adventure and search to see if they can find them. The house is fully equipped for children with books, lego, drawing material etc. Walk into Carlingford using the Omeath-Carlingford Greenway (which is just in front of the cottage). Perfect for cycling, hiking, hill walking, advendure sports, relaxing and just being away from it all.

  • Had such a lovely stay in this cosy , stylish cottage , fire really makes it , loved playing board games (that they provided ) beside the fire , my 2 year old loved choosing a new book to have read to her every night from the book shelf , and loved playing outside and looking at the little stream with waterfall at side of house , very good location for carlingford taxi was €10 but took 4 adults and a double pram in it so was perfect , ate in Carlingford Arms cannot fault their food and customer service is amazing as soon as we walked through door the manager asked if we would like her to get some potato soup for my daughter sorted now so by the time we sat down she could eat it straight away !! Absolutely amazing anyone with children knows this is exactly what you need at lunchtimes !!! Pete and Jessica the owners of this property were a pleasure to deal with and answered promptly any questions we had ! We saw the new year in and watched fireworks over the lough , and woke every morning to the most amazing views over the lake ! Would highly recommend this property

Plenty of blankets for keeping you warm outside having a drink in the evening enjoying the views. Flexible sleeping arrangements with two pull out beds. Good selection of toys for the kids including Lego, which was a big hit with my two! Pete and Jessica were super hosts. Can’t recommend this place enough.

  • Well-appointed cottage with a spectacular view! Jessica and Pete have this place set up perfectly for guests. They added a welcome note and lots of local information. Plus, it was easy to add another twin bed for our 3 children, who loved staying all in one room. We hope to come back!
