Cottage vacation rentals in Rockingham County

What a lovely home! And so nicely decorated and well laid out. There was plenty of room for our group of hikers. The location was perfect due to its proximity to the Appalachian Trail. My sister does a lot of cooking and the kitchen had just about everything we needed. We felt so at home that we will try to stay again if we get around to finishing the southern part of Shenandoah NP. Of course, the MAIN thing anyone needs while on vacation is a good night's sleep. The beds were SO comfortable and we slept very well. The big backyard was also a bonus. Definitely a 5 star stay.

This place was amazing and had fantastic views! We had such a great stay, the set up is perfect to have fun as well as relax!

What a gem! Our family of 5 enjoyed everything about our stay at Hillside Hideaway. Comfortable and cozy atmosphere, very clean. We all enjoyed the hot tub each evening and lazing in the hammock for some down time between hiking and sightseeing. The kiddos loved the books, games, toys, and swing. Rhonda was a great host with easy communication and very clear instructions about the home. We wish we could've stayed longer!

We booked this Airbnb for our daughter’s weekend bachelorette party. Sara was helpful, the space was perfect and everyone had a great time.

The location is magnificent!!! Truly feels n looks better than the pictures. We loved the house and location soon as we walked in. There r great vineyards nearby too. These r the most responsive hosts I have ever interacted with which is a big plus. I would 100% recommend. Small con is the bunk beds are a little small, so not most comfy for an adult. Otherwise everything else was perfect!

We absolutely loved our stay! We were here for our elopement in Shenandoah National Park and this location was perfect. The AirBnb was clean, it had beautiful surroundings, and all of the amenities were great!! Colton gave us awesome local recommendations as well. We will definitely be back!

Great place in a great location. We loved being able to stay together as a family for our daughter's graduation at JMU. Scenic, quiet and abundant wildlife. We will definitely look to book again when we look for a weekend getaway!

My fiancé and I came here for a weekend getaway and it was nothing but perfect. We brought our kayaks and were able to easily launch into the river in front of the property. The home was so cute and cozy! It was a little slice of heaven away from home! We enjoyed the hot tub one of the nights and thought the train was super cool to see go by. We enjoyed our stay so much! We will definitely be coming back to visit with the rest of our family. Highly recommend this wonderful place!

I stayed here with my daughters and found it just right for a weekend near Bridgewater Retirement Community. Location on the river was beautiful yet still walkable to town. Would recommend and stay again when we’re visiting Mom at BRC!

We had a great stay. This host was incredibly flexible from the start from allowing extra guests, allowing early check in, and late checkout. Not to mention how well stocked the house was with extra toiletries, cookingwear, coffee/tea, and plates/cups but also in sleeping areas and abundant toys and games. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful nestled right in the mountains. It’s perfect for kids and adults. We would absolutely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay! It is private and peaceful. The house is perfect for a small family and we enjoyed comfortable beds at the end of a long drive and then a full day at Shenandoah National Park. The kitchen has all you need and a comfortable couch for relaxing. Our only caution is the drive to the house is steep and gravel. There are divets and “stone speed bumps” that are a bit much for any car. Would not recommend taking a low or small car for here. But if you have a good vehicle, this place is absolutely perfect for a stay in Shenandoah!

Greatly enjoyed our stay. Had lots of things for the kids to do when we were inside the house and the location was excellent for taking advantage of Massanutten’s activities.

Wow I don’t know where to start. We first chose this beautiful place for two weeks and couldn’t help but extend another weeks stay. This home is positioned perfectly away from others with the river easily accessible behind the property. My partner and I found so many nearby trails to explore including an abundance of nearby farms to see the local animals. The Mountain View’s surrounding the area were breathe taking! About a mile from the property were some very tasty restaurants. We are from Jersey and Sal’s Italian made us feel right at home. There were stores under 15 minutes away allowing hassle free shopping while escaping back to the secluded cabin. Kinga was beyond helpful during our stay. She responds within a reasonable time and was very attentive. We will absolutely return to this getaway cabin again. You will get the best of every world at this beautiful home.🩷

Very nice, cozy, roomie cottage. The drive up and surrounding areas are a little bit too much if you’re not familiar with the area. A lot of steep hills. Overall, the scenery is beautiful. I would recommend to my friends and family.

This charming little cottage is a wonderful bonus rental to the main house. Though I had not originally rented this cottage when I rented the main house, at the last minute, I had extra guests that needed accommodations and John was able to rent the cottage on very short notice. The cottage was clean and ready for an early check-in in record time and my guests were very happy with this sweet cottage. A beautiful location that is such a lovely spot for a getaway or special weekend trip. A nice little taste of country life for all who come to the Shenandoah Valley.

The house is beautiful - located in a very nice cul-de-sac, and we found it very clean. The living room is great for watching your favorite shows on NetFlix, Amazon Prime, etc... We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner (and playing games) in the dining room. We did find sitting in the back yard at the firepit to be a bit noisy due to its' proximity to the main road, but I think it was a bit busier that usual as it was the Thanksgiving weekend. We would love to come back and do some skiing at the resort!

Great place that fit the description, we loved the vibes. Outdoor area looked amazing too, just was a bit cold the weekend we stayed. Would definitely recommend.

Our stay was short but the Virginia cottage was perfect for our group. The surrounding area is beautiful. The cottage is no frills but great for a large group. Lots of space.

Stayed here two years ago and when making the same big drive down knew immediately where we’d be staying. Was fantastic the first time and nothing has changed since!
