Pen-y-Ghent Micro Lodge

Beautiful barn conversion which is ideally situated for walkers and 3 Peaks Challenge adventurers! It offers 3 bedrooms in the main house and is within walking distance of the local pubs, café and train station and has its own private car park for guests. From April 2019 2 (dog friendly) micro lodges/pods will be added and are located in the walled garden area next to the main house, both with private terrace and bbq. Pods are en-suite and equipped with TV, fridge, microwave and sofa.

Galtres Lodge is probably the most central hotel in York. Certainly the one with most personality! Fun, relaxed, friendly, historic, and a little bit quirky. Proud member of Indie York, dog friendly, independently owned, and home to the awesome Forest restaurant. Small yet perfectly formed, the building was originally two Georgian townhouses, which have been combined to make this charming 12-bedroom hotel and restaurant, which is in the shadows of York Minster.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Amazing location, perfect for the quay side, city centre and st James park. Room was really modern, bed super comfy. They even had underfloor heating in the bathroom which was lovely. It was a really quiet stay, no noise and the staff were friendly. Plus they had free croissants for all guests in the morning. Definitely would stay again, 100% recommend.

Dog friendly hotel in the Haret of Yorkshire

Lovely family pub, everyone was super friendly felt like being at home. It is absolutely dog friendly everyone was amazing with Winston, he received a box with a ball and treats for the dog. Quite a lot of stairs to get to the room that was the only negative. Room was very clean and spacious. Bathroom was huge with 2 sinks, a bath and a shower - only regret that we don't stay long enough to enjoy more. Cannot comment on the surroundings as didn't had the time to explore. But easy to find using Google maps, looked busy to park but as we arrived Sunday evening parking was very easy. The only suggestion is as there was no thermostat in the bedroom early night and morning the room was a bit cold - in all honesty we didn't go down to report this so potentially could've been sorted. We had dinner, very good food. And breakfast was included, enough variety, cooked breakfast was available but not included so we didn't try. Would definitely be back so another short stay.
