Nicolson Cottage @Mackenzie House - Explore NC500

DanielaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We loved the place, and is actually better than it looks in the pictures. A lovely cottage , very spacious and well located. Clancy is a lovely host, very responsive and recommended places for us to visit. Checked in with us to ensure we were settled, got us milk and eggs and little treats, which we found extremely thoughtful and useful considering we were visiting just before Christmas. Would highly recommend this place, the village is small but nice and easily walkable. Drivable distance from Inverness, Ullapool, Loch Ness and other places. Would happily stay again.

The Lodge at Boath House Hotel | 4BR + Sauna

MichaelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My daughter, wife and I recently enjoyed 2 nights at this wonderful property. It exceeded our expectations in a number of ways. Firstly the property was exactly as represented on the site. It was very modern (beautifully appointed), very, clean and well appointed (e.g. Aesop products in every room). The spacious kitchen had the latest and greatest in appliances. What we didn't appreciate when booking was that we could access all the wonderful amenities of the Boath House estate. The grounds on which the house are located are spectacular, peaceful and quiet. The outdoor breakfast/restaurant was superb. And the dining room in the Boath House is amazing. One evening we enjoyed a gourmet 5 course dinner that we will never forget (highlight of our entire trip). And the chef came to debrief us on the entire meal at the end. A truly memorable experience all around.

Dundonnachie House (License PK11066F)

TomiRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a great stay at Vicky’s lovely, well-maintained house. Communication with Vicky and her husband was quick and helpful throughout. The house itself is full of character, with two comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a spacious living area. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we appreciated the nice toiletries. The location is fantastic — right in the center of a lively village with great cafes and restaurants just a short walk away. We also enjoyed a beautiful nature walk nearby (The Birks). Parking right in front of the house was a big plus. Only regret: the weather was too warm to make use of the stove! Highly recommended.

Cottage with beautiful views

EllenRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We were greeted warmly by Susan and Peter on our arrival and knew immediately that we had chosen the perfect cottage for our holiday. The cottage is very well equipped and there is an abundance of wildlife to see and the most beautiful scenery to enjoy. We explored the area on foot, in the car and on our bikes and returning to Kennel Cottage at the end of the day was blissful! The view from the cottage garden is breathtaking. Thank you to Susan and Peter for sharing this beautiful cottage. We hoped for tranquility and lots of wildlife and we weren’t disappointed. We saw more than we even hoped for. We would definitely stay again. Communication throughout was superb. Thank you so much!

Cute cottage in beautiful glen above Loch Ness

KathrynRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We've just enjoyed the most perfect week in Scotland using Alison and Michael's place as a base. The house has everything you need to feel comfortable as a family (two adults, a 5 and 1 year old). We had most of our meals at the house and the kitchen and dining area was perfect for this. If it had been a bit drier we would have taken the opportunity to use the outside space more as the views were lovely. As most have mentioned the upstairs is small in comparison to downstairs but this wasn't an issue with young children if we were upstairs we were sleeping and it wasn't noticeable. We would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet rural stay with access to Loch Ness, Inverness and the NC 500.

We had a great time, the house was spacious and very well equipped. We only stayed a couple of nights but would be perfect for staying longer and spending time enjoying the area. Perfect house for families - kitchen had everything you could need, and the hotel is very close by for eating out. I would like to stay again in the future for longer

Riverside Hideaway

DaveRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This is how Air B and Bs should be. Not only was the accommodation itself fantastic (and obviously being in the Cairngorms, in a stunning location) but the hosts had thought about everything you could possibly need during your stay. Would definitely stay at the Riverside Hideaway again if I was up in that part of the world.

Historic Highland Home on Loch Ness

LisaRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Although a little expensive, the views, and being in an Abbey was an amazing experience. We had plenty of room and the apartment had everything we needed including tea! The canal locks were a thrilling surprise to watch when going for coffee or ice cream. Loch Ness cruise was beautiful. Everything you could need from coffee to restaurants and gift shops to convenience store all walking distance but very quiet complex with a city link bus stop 5-6 minute walk to explore the highlands.

Albaplace Pitlochry

KarenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A truly excellent accommodation which was exactly as described and just like the photos. We particularly appreciated: -the proactive and responsive communication (Mhairi answered her phone immediately when we called her and also replied almost immediately to text messages) -constant hot water and fabulous rainfall shower (with plentiful shower gel also provided) -ability to control the heating (perfect for softie southerners) using the hive system -generous provision of snacks, croissants, teabags/coffee and a pint of milk left in the fridge -comfortable beds and lots of cosy blankets in the living room (another win for those that feel the cold) -central location with free parking nearby -flexible check out time (though obviously this may not always be available if new guests due) Worth mention that the flat is on the second floor so may not be as suitable for people with mobility issues and/or a lot of heavy luggage -not an issue for us as we were only staying one night.

Apartment on the shores of Loch Ness

KamlaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place is quite special: the Apartment is in the oldest Part of the converted Abbey. It is very large, nicely furnished with extremely comfortable sofas and beds and has a very nice kitchen and bathroom. But this isn‘t all, there is the swimmingpool, gameroom etc. that you can use - even though the place was pretty full we hardly saw other people and did not hear anything from them in the flat. The absolut greatest thing about the place is it’s location right on the Loch Ness, tranquill and beautiful.

Boathouse, Rosehaugh Estate - peaceful retreat

EmiliaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Me, my partner, two of our close friends and our greyhound Louis had a magical week at the boathouse. Not only were we blessed with end to end sunshine, but the boat house was so wonderful, that for several days we didn't leave the accommodation. The photos on here do not do the boathouse justice, it was spotless and brimming with character - not to mention the bathrooms were wonderful! Huge recommendation would be to bring or rent a kayak for the lake, we spent hours having fun on there and it would be the perfect pastime for children too! Perfect spot for a couples holiday, a romantic getaway, or even a family holiday! We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage is gorgeous and cosy - we felt so at home! Everything was pristine and excellently equipped. The location is remote with beautiful views of the surrounding fields and hills, and allows you to completely switch off. We loved every moment, already scheduling in a return :)

Couples/Solo travelers Beachside cottage on Loch Rannoch

SarahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We left this morning and want to go back. The only noise we heard was the call of birds and the gentle lapping of the water on the beach. The Bothy is toasty warm and we didn't need the log burner. Everything you need is supplied. It is also very convenient for many attractions and lots of walks. We booked to see wildlife and go on scenic walks. It didn't disappoint. We've seen Golden Eagles, Osprey, Hen Harriers, a Merlin, Newts, tadpoles, too many little birds to mention, and whilst on the Jacobite Steam Train we saw the White Tailed Eagle. Thank you to Melanie and Peter. Lovely hosts, welcoming but gave us privacy.

Rowan Cottage Highland retreat near Fort William

JennyRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Linda replied quickly with every questions which we asked. Very clearly introduction of the way to the cottage. The environment is really very beautiful. When we arrive the cottage we found all the outside and inside of the cottage is exactly the same as the pictures in the Airbnb webside. Linda prepared all materials and tools in the kitchen so we cooked very easily every night for the dinner. My families all liked the cottage. We buy all food and some vegitable and meat in the supermarket in Fort William which is only 20 min drive to the bcottage. Highly recommenaction this cottage to the families who like the nature and quiet living environment.

Winding up through the rolling country hills, we felt we were with Alice, in Wonderland! Quaint house, with spectacular views, sunrise, sunset, quails, white bunnies and a strutting turkey, we arrived to a warm burning wood stove. Hannah and her tin hous met all of our needs, above and beyond! Would highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

Secluded 3 bedroom cottage with hot tub.

HannahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Had a lovely stay here, the location is great and a close enough drive to plenty of sights - we managed to see puffins at RSPB Fowlsheugh! Local shops are 10 mins down the road. Location was just gorgeous, lambs in the field next door and the stables just behind make an idyllic set up.
