Julio is an exceptionally attentive host, starting before my arrival as we discussed Canada's travel advisory for Cuba regarding personal safety and shortages of basic things like food and medicines. None of these were a problem, as Julio assured me they wouldn’t be, and as a woman traveling alone, I never felt unsafe. Even the infamous power outages, whether scheduled or not, were easily navigated with Julio’s help. He was readily available for any questions or concerns and ensured my stay was a great experience. The apartment is very clean and bright, with everything guests need, from kitchenware and air conditioning to (somewhat slow but vital) internet access. A variety of restaurants and small tiendas make the location super convenient, and the weekend market is just across the street at John Lennon Park. The area can come with some noise at night, but earplugs are a quick fix. The apartment offers a private retreat with a vibrant community right outside the door.

El Palomar is highly recommended A cozy and nice place, conveniently located and with people willing to help and make our experience unforgettable.

If you want to experience an authentic Havana neighborhood near the sea within a taxi ride of old Havana, then this might be the place for you. It is a simple and affordable accommodation with great service from Vivian and Elizabeth. Elizabeth was extremely helpful with figuring out how to exchange money, book local travel arrangements, and offered lots of advice to make our experience great. if you are looking for something fancy and high end, this won't be for you. If you're looking for real, authentic Havana, living, shopping, dining with the locals, then this is a great place for the money. in general, we felt safe and had really kind and lovely neighbours. Tony on the second floor was always looking out for us and didn't ask for a thing in return. we offered him eggs (very expensive for Cubans right now) one day as a thank you, and he said no thank you that he does what he does out of the kindness of his heart and because God always blesses Him and provides for Him. Adios!!

Excellent apartment, very cozy, clean and well located. Kelvin and Anna are fabulous hosts, this is by far one if not the best place to stay whip exploring Havana Definitely a great deal !
