If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The pictures on AirBnB of the grounds and lake looked too good to be true. It was even better than that! It's your own personal wildlife refuge. I came to south Texas for all of the famous birding national refuges, state parks, etc. (which really were amazing!) Yet, I found myself wanting to get back early each night to The Birdhouse on the Rio just to see what I could find. An amazing cast of characters live there and many other guest stars come for a visit! Even if you're not a birder and just enjoy nature, there are more peaceful places to sit outside at The Birdhouse than the inside of most homes. If that's not enough, the house is just about perfect and the owners are so welcoming and thoughtful. That was the best rental at which I've stayed. A huge thank you to the owners for doing their part in providing a natural habitat for all of our feathered and furry friends... and sharing it with us.

Beautiful little home in a nice location. Quiet and peaceful and very centrally located. Easy to get around to everything with a ton of great restaurants nearby. Marviel was very responsive and kind and I felt comfortable asking any questions I may need. Great stay!!!

We had a wonderful stay in this modern, clean, and spacious home. It had all the amenities we needed—and more—including plenty of cooking utensils and bakeware. The location was excellent, just minutes away from a movie theater, gym, restaurants, and shops. We felt safe walking around the neighborhood, and especially loved the private backyard—it was a perfect spot to relax. Especially great on price. Highly recommend!

It was our families first time using an Airbnb and decided to try it out . We were beyond ecstatic such a beautiful place exactly as listed every detail to the dot. The overall experience and traveling with small children was wonderful . I was beyond impressed that Edna took the time to let us know regarding the steps and to take precaution bringing small children on the trip . I’m originally from Weslaco and was visiting for a graduation. I came across this little guest house and it was the cutest thing. I loved how the place was decorated and how clean and cold it was (essential for the valley hot weather). Would stay again. Great value for money!

Great place and location. The pool was right outside, so perfect for the kiddos. Less than 5 minutes away from food, Walmart and HEB. Very quiet location.
