Villa Lina was even more beautiful than the pictures showed. The house was clean, had new and comfortable bedding, had plenty of space for our family, and the view was outstanding. The place is very private, high up on the hill, but with the instructions from our host we had no trouble finding it, even in the dark. The driveway is about 1/4 mile, steep, with parts of it gravel, and has several sharp turns, but we made it no problem with the small jeep we rented (without 4WD). Just take it slow. It is about a 15 minute drive back down to the town center of Lucca and the train station and 10 minutes to a grocery store. The back roads are very narrow until you get to a main road so use caution and we were lucky enough that others backed up for us when we met on the narrow spots. The view and seclusion were well worth the drive up for us. If you want an amazing view of the Tuscan countryside, but also a short drive to a neat town and a train station, Villa Lina is a great choice!

Absolutely fabulous stay in Volegno! Mariangela was a superb host who met us at the bottom of the village to transport our luggage to the apartment. The pictures do not do it justice; everything was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for self catering, a great gas hob, lovely coffee pods for the espresso machine, and the most beautiful terrace overlooking the mountains! We can’t fault our holiday, it was truly special!

Francesca and her kind family have created a once-in-a-lifetime, soul-grounding experience in this beautifully restored 14th-century hillside retreat in Portovenere. We loved every minute of our six-night stay. From the mind-blowing views and steep, invigorating hikes to romantic evenings sipping homemade, earthy concoctions thoughtfully left for us—it was pure magic. We were welcomed with fragrant bundles of fresh lemons, rosemary, sage, and thyme, a gesture that set the tone for the care and warmth we felt throughout. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making our rest as memorable as our adventures. We especially loved our daily rocky hike down to the charming village, and one day we even rented a dinghy to explore the surrounding islands—an unforgettable way to soak in the coastal beauty. This place is beyond gorgeous—truly a slice of heaven.

This is my third visit to the Lucca area, but my first time to stay inside the city walls. Fabrizio’s apartment is perfect with respect to location, style, and quality. The terrace is such a haven. Any meals we cooked were eaten out there, and a glass of wine in the evening is a must while you listen to the lively vibe of Lucca.

Die Einrichtung mit ihrem gemütlichem Charme strahlt eine warme, einladende Atmosphäre aus, in der man sich sofort entspannen kann. Die Lage ist unschlagbar: Absolut ruhig!!! Morgens die Tür öffnen und den Duft frisch gebrühten Kaffees in der Sonne vor der Tür genießen – unbezahlbar. Abends haben wir bei einem Glas Wein den Sonnenuntergang bewundert. Ganz besonders hervorheben möchten wir Lindies außergewöhnliche Gastfreundschaft: Ihre prompte, freundliche Kommunikation sind nicht selbstverständlich. Kurzum: Diese Unterkunft ist ein absoluter Traum, und Lindie setzt mit ihrer liebevollen Art und der perfekten Organisation Maßstäbe. Twee weken konden wij van deze geweldige plek genieten. Tijdens onze eerste rit naar boven werden we al betoverd door de schoonheid van de omgeving. Het huis van Lara ligt op een open plateau omringt met bomen. Het is een prachtig huis, voorzien van alle gemakken. Het is schoon en zeer goed onderhouden. Het uitzicht vanaf de tuin en je balkon is gericht op Tassilico. Een dorp waar je heen kunt wandelen. Verni is een zeer charmant dorp waar je heerlijk, vanuit het huis, naar toe kunt lopen. En je kunt bij Lara, laat het haar weten, een heerlijke huis gemaakte avondmaal en/of lunch eten. Op een leuk plein staat je tafel gedekt en je geniet, voortreffelijk! Voelt als thuis. Lara is een zeer vriendelijke vrouw en staat altijd voor je klaar. Heeft hele leuke tips om in de buurt te ontdekken. En er zijn vanuit het huis meerdere wandel routes te ontdekken. Via komoot hebben we routes ontdekt, in meerdere lengtes. Wij raden het huis van Lara absoluut aan, als we een 6 konden gegeven!!
