The Box House is one of the most amazing Air BnB’s I’ve ever stayed in. In terms of design it is a unique house and the pictures capture the scale perfectly. The villa has full staffing led by the lovely Dhilan who is a great chef, concierge, butler all rolled into one. His Sri Lankan dhal, omelette, and moju are perfection! This was an RnR break for the family and Box House ticked all the boxes. The pool is HUGE and the ground lovely. Everything was on hand for us to unwind and switch off for a few days. Kasun handled all pre booking comms promptly and was very helpful. Three of the five bedrooms have their own entrance so this makes the property perfect for larger groups. I have a couple of suggestions for the hosts to elevate Box House even further. If air conditioning can be added to the main room it can increase its usability and families can have a central space to come together. Second, a small menu stating Dhilan’s specialities in Sri Lankan cuisine will be very helpful.

Wow just wow! From the moment we made contact with Eranga we were so well looked after. Even before we got to the wonderful house we were had our transport organised to take our family of 5 from Colombo Airport to the AirBNB we were then helped with settling in and greeted with coconuts. Whether it was hire cars, recommendations for activities such as releasing baby turtles into the ocean Eranga was our guy! The house itself has everything you need and is spacious clean and tidy thanks to daily visits from lovely helpers around the house and garden. Air Conditioning is amazing and works really well. The ocean is steps away from the house which is situated in a surfers area. Make sure you visit the Sandbank restaurant for well priced food, music and Thursday night ping pong tournament. Peacocks running in the garden and the friendliest dog ever. We loved this place and would return in a heartbeat! Thank you for making our Sri Lanka trip so memorable. Just amazing!

Location / Property: The house and the environment was absolutely fabulous. This is a rare instance when the location is actually like your listed pictures. The pool was an absolute joy. My kids loved it. Morning session were beach and then straight to the pool. Service - Dinesh and his team keep the house in immaculate condition, clean and well arranged. You would barely know they were there ensuring that you will have the highest levels of privacy. But they will always be available if you needed anything. Amenities - The house is stocked with all the basic creature comforts you can ask for as well as a fully functional kitchen with all utensils. Additional Notes - The host was gracious enough to offer the following options for food. Half board (incl breakfast and dinner) - 20$ per person per day Breakfast Only- $5 pp per day Chef can cook breakfast and dinner- 100$ per day Overall a fabulous location and experience

Stella Beach House was the perfect getaway for my family and me. The location is absolutely stunning, with an array of excellent restaurants nearby. The house itself was impeccably clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed the amazing pool. From the very beginning to the end of our stay, Amit, Chaminda, and their team were incredibly helpful with everything we needed. They prepared delicious meals for us almost every day, which truly enhanced our experience. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Stella Beach Villas to anyone planning a vacation in Sri Lanka. It's a wonderful destination for everyone looking to relax and enjoy a beautiful getaway.

Such a magic and breathtaking place on earth. The house is quite simple but fresh with separate bedrooms with separate doors. But what a location. Your private paradise beach but with restaurants and small nice hotels as neighbors. Tangalle town is small, friendly and with amazing restaurants. Quite and genuine. To the left you have long beaches with sea turtles. To the right more friendly to swim. The ocean is so close and the only surprise was how roaring the Tangalle coast ocean is. Bring earplugs plugs for better sleep. But all worth it waking up walking two meters and tipping the toes in sand. In your own private villa. We were a family of four and enjoyed the bedrooms, bathrooms en suite and cosy balcony and outdoor terass.

We had a great stay! The host was incredibly friendly and helpful – always available if we had any questions. He brought us fresh fruit, let us use the washing machine, and even allowed a late check-out, which we really appreciated. The location couldn’t be better – right by Silent Beach. Would definitely stay here again!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay away from the crowds very much. It felt like sleeping in our own tiny house in the jungle. The host was very friendly and helped us to get local tuktuk drivers, since it's a bit further from restaurants and beaches. We can highly recommend this place.

Lookout is categorically the best place to stay in Dickwella or Hiriketiya - if you don’t believe me go on google maps satellite and look around - there is no where else with an amazing pool and beach access. If you are choosing between Dickwella and Hiriketiya - trust me, choose Dickwella. It’s the far more beautiful beach to wander and enjoy beautiful sunsets with or without a cocktail. With all its natural advantages, the actual villa is perfect - 4 massive rooms with aircon, big bathrooms, lots of storage space to unpack, big living space, great covered terrace downstairs to eat under and balcony upstairs that rooms along the 3 rooms up there. The pool is brilliant, with padded sun loungers for everyone and sun all day. Staff were the best bit - incredible chef, cooked anything well but the Sri Lankan meals were incredible, Sam, our butler, made everything a joy, and the rest of the team were great - super friendly. For kids - perfect - cribs, toys, food, nanny’s nearby.

Our stay in Ratnakara Villa was awesome! The place is enormous and for our little group of 5 people it sometimes felt a bit too much) The best feature of the villa is the gorgeous infinity pool and a nice patio around it. The kitchen and the main hall were also spectacular but we didn't spend time there due to the great weather outside. The rooms were clean and spacious, but for us living by couples having two king-size beds was overkill (I'm sure there's a case when you need to have two big beds in your room 😅). The staff was really polite and friendly, the food was great and the good value for the price. The only two concerns that we had were a lack of AC in the rooms (there were big fans, but it's not enough in my opinion) and the nearby beach is not suitable for swimming. Aside from that everything else was super. Definitely recommend this place for everyone, who wants to have a luxury experience and the European service in Sri Lanka!

Our group of friends had an unforgettable 5-day stay at Villa Elise. The villa is in a peaceful beachfront location — perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. One of the highlights was the beautiful swimming pool, which was clean and inviting at all hours — we loved having the option for a swim any time of day or night. The villa itself is modern, spacious, and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Celine and her team were warm, helpful, and always available when we needed anything. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, and we chose to have the in-house Chef prepare our dinners — every dish was excellent. A special highlight was the BBQ dinner, which was perfectly arranged and made for a great evening together. Villa Elise was everything we hoped for and more. It’s the perfect place for a group getaway, and we’re looking forward to return!

The villa was absolutely beautiful — but what truly made it unforgettable was how close it was to the beach. I already miss the feeling of simply stepping out and jumping straight into the ocean waves. The villa itself was spotless, well-organized, and thoughtfully designed. But most importantly, the staff completely exceeded our expectations. They were warm, incredibly helpful, and always eager to make sure we felt at home. No request was too much — they always said yes with a smile, even when we asked for everything under the sun. Honestly, they were the heart of this experience and made our stay even more special and memorable. The only small downside worth mentioning is that the plumbing could use a little attention — nothing that ruined the stay, but something to be aware of for future improvements. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back — it was a truly wonderful experience.

We stayed in Hiriketiya for a few days in early April and had an amazing time in the area. Siri the housekeeper really made our stay, he was amazing helping us with any house questions we had as well as giving us recommendations in the area and telling us fun facts about Hiriketiya.

Myself, my wife and our two young children had a fantastic time at Vila Tila! The house is spacious and clean, the pool is huge and spotless and the beach which can be reached through a gate at the back of the garden is quiet and unspoiled. We saw monkeys, lizards, mongoose and also helped baby turtles reach the sea from their hatching point on the beach. All of this aside, the best part of our stay was the staff - Thusara and his team were kind, attentive, and so helpful! Most importantly, the food they prepared for our breakfasts and dinners was absolutely incredible - curries, fresh seafood, meals for the kids, banana fritters…all absolutely delicious. The location of the house feels quite remote but there are things to see and do within a short drive and of course, Rekawa beach is on your doorstep. It is the perfect location to chill, unwind and relax - and you will be well looked after :)

Absolute paradise! This place had everything we were dreaming of and more. Beautiful surroundings, amazing pool, incredible beaches around, super nice and discreet staff and three adorable dogs, which is definitely a plus point to feel at home! CJ went out of her way to help us settle and feel comfortable, it was truly a memorable stay, thank you for everything!!

The villa is in a great location, a few minutes walk from the idylic Mawella beach. We loved the open air living space that flows into the garden so the kids could hop out of the pool, eat some food, watch TV or play in the communal space and the adults could still relax on the bean bags or in the pool and not have to move too far or worry what the kids were up to! The bedrooms are a good size and the beds are big and comfortable. There's a few small 'shops' within a 5-10 minute walk for essentials but be sure to stock up for convennience. The villa manager, Chamara, is more than happy to help if you ask them in advance and they can head to a larger supermarket for you. Get the number of a tuk tuk so you can order to the villa if you want to head further afield. Chamara came to the villa and cooked breakfast each morning which was great. Again, you need to order in advance which is easy as you can always reach on messages or call. Overall a great stay, Mawella beach is dreamy.

Wonderful stay, highly recommend! We were four adults staying here for 3 days and our time flew by. The property is located on a stunning, pristine beach. Aside from fishermen in the morning and a spattering of tourists, we had the beach to ourselves for most of the day. The property looks just like the photos - nice rooms and a swimming pool which the staff cleaned daily. A highlight of our stay was the home cooked food. We had fantastic Sri Lankan meals thanks to the villa's team. Only major complaint was the lack of outdoor umbrellas - we had to keep moving our lounge chairs to follow the shade from the trees throughout the day. Also we were able to enjoy swimming but note that the waves on this beach can be deceptively powerful - be careful if you have kids.

We were hosted by Rohan. It was one of the best experiences. Rohan is very-cooperative and extremely helpful. He helped us with grocery items and even helped us with Dinner at 2am. He ensured making us comfortable and helped with whatever he could. The place is also huge, pretty and recommended for a group of friends. There is also a beach access directly from the villa.

Suresh and his wife took good care of us by serving breakfast every morning and lunch on request. The house has a nice garden with swimming pool to cool off in and it’s only 1 minute walk to the beach, which is gorgeous. There is a restaurant/ bar across the road with quality menu options. We hope to visit again!

Had a wonderful experience

My two girlfriends and I had the best time at Koratuwa Villa, from the beginning to the end. The villa is beautiful, especially the garden and pool. We spent every morning with a dip and went back out in the evening to watch the stars (and fireflies!) from the loungers. The rooms were super comfortable, especially the master bedroom - the comfiest bed I've ever slept in! The hosts were so kind, friendly and super communicative. I arranged a meal for our first night which was a godsend as we were exhausted after a big day of travelling, and it was delicious. Cham was so helpful every step of the way, responding to all of our questions and arranging travels and tours to make the most of our stay. The location is perfect - it's super quiet and peaceful and away from the hustle, but you can be at Dikwella or Hiriketiya in 10m by tuktuk (which Cham can arrange for you). One of the best Airbnbs I've ever stayed in. Already planning the next visit! Thank you!!
