At the end of the cottage is an outdoor kitchen with cold water, oven and stove. A lovely terrace. A little further away, there is a toilet building with a toilet and sink with cold water. No bath. Bed linen, linens and towels are included in the price. Breakfast can be purchased. Within walking distance is Himmerland Football Golf and open garden by appointment. Close to Rebild Hills and Rold Forest.

Our cottage is built of wood from our own forest, it contains an entrance, a large bedroom, bathroom and a kitchen living room. In addition, there is a cozy dining area, as well as a covered terrace. The cottage is located on the edge of a slope so the view is amazing. The wildlife in the forest can be followed from every room in the cottage, you can also look down to the large lake in the garden. We have a large trampoline, as well as a football field that you can use freely. We live in the neighboring house, so we are close by if you need anything😊

The annex is located on a natural plot in the woods with the golf course as the nearest neighbor and close to Aalborg, 15 minutes to the city bus. Whether it's a city vacation, golf, mountain biking, road cycling, you have plenty of opportunities to meet your needs here with us. We are happy to help you with good advice if you ask. If you want to experience Denmark from its beautiful and quiet side, then “Vidkærhøj” is the place for you. The home is part of our property from the 1870s, and was originally an old barn, which we have lovingly restored over the past few years. It is centrally located between Aarhus, Silkeborg and Skanderborg. It is high up here, and if you like, our dog, Aggie, would love to greet you, just as our cats, chickens and rooster are also very curious. We can’t wait to host you 🤗

Note! Limited bookings spring/summer 2025 due to construction work on the farm! Welcome to Vandbakkegaarden’s Retro House. Here you will find nature, peace and plenty of cosiness in authentic surroundings. The house is the original cottage built around 1930, while we live in a newer house on the property. The house deserves to be lived in and cared for, and you – our guests, contribute to that. We also appreciate offering our guests a different type of holiday and on a budget.

Der er bordplads og stole foran huset til en kop kaffe eller en læsestund - andre pladser i gården er forbeholdt os selv og vores naboer. Cosy “tinyhouse” guesthouse with enough space for one person - or a couple. We have table and chairs in front of the house, for a cup of coffee - other seatings in the yard are reserved for our neighbors and ourselves.
