Peter's place was even better than we imagined. A little cocoon, with all the necessities and tastefully furnished. Peter was very attentive and available. Don't hesitate! Thanks again to Peter.

The Matrieux cottage is well equipped and very comfortable, the games room is an undeniable plus with children, the hosts are very welcoming, available and friendly. The only downside will be that we hear a lot from the neighbors of the adjoining cottage.

This is a little bit of heaven. If you're looking for somewhere to get away from everything (but still have enough to do), somewhere quiet (but still with lots going on) and somewhere that feels like a world away from stress and fuss (but still with Angoulême 30 minutes' drive away), you've found it. The house is spacious, warm and welcoming. There's everything you need (including a bottle of red when we arrived!) and restaurants and bars are less than 5 minutes' walk away. The dock at the back of the house on the river may be the best place ever to enjoy a coffee and watch the ducks or open a bottle in the evening. The best place we've found to de-stress. Love it.

We had a great time at Caroline and Gordon's! Our hosts were very warm and extremely attentive! The cottage is very comfortable: the sofa, armchairs, bedding are ideal for relaxing and resting. The house is full of charm and its cleanliness is impeccable. The garden is well equipped for a great time, nothing is missing! The cottage's environment is very peaceful, the setting is ideal for nature lovers. Many walks are possible, as well as fun activities in the cottage. We would highly recommend!!

We stayed for two weeks it was wonderful a real home from home. Howard and Shirley made us feel so welcome and shared their excellent knowledge of the area. We found everything to hand and thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Definitely recommend family days at the Grand Etang, croissant and baguette from the village boulangarie and evening drinks in the Cafe Brocante in the village. Will definitely pop it on our list to return, many thanks to our lovely hosts

My time at Le Petite Chouette was utterly magical. I stayed for a month and fully recharged my soul in this peaceful, beautiful spot surrounded by nature. Ania and Mark are so kind and attentive, and the gite has everything you could possible imagine for your comfort and well-being. The kitchen has everything you might need for cooking, and my favorite part is the bed, as it was more comfortable than hotel beds with crisp fresh linens and even an electric blanket for a cozy night. I’ll never forget my peaceful evenings in front of the fire (thank you for generously supplying wood!) my long walks to chateau Lavauguyon and the village, excursions to Site de Peyrassoulat, my visits to the contemporary art and meteorite museums in Rochechouart, and my lovely chats with Ania, Mark, their sweet dogs, and the chickens! I am forever grateful for what this stay has done for my spirit! I highly recommend this place if you want deep rest!

Perfect, perfect, perfect! We have had the most amazing week at Lilac Cottage! Phil & Maggie were amazing hosts, very attentive, and absolutely lovely. The cottage was gorgeous with all the amenities you could need. The pool area was also lovely and private and the selection of pool toys went down a treat with the kids. Maggie was always on hand if we needed any recommendations of where to go to see the local area . Overall a fantastic stop off as part of our mini French adventure. Would highly recommend!
