Beachfront vacation rentals in Puttalam

Wir verbrachten 3 Nächte in den Dune Towers. Kurzer 5 min Weg zum menschenleeren Strand. Unser Doppelzimmer war sehr geräumig und sauber. Das Frühstück in der Unterkunft war sehr lecker genauso wie das Mittagessen und Abendessen. Thanseem und seine Jungs sind sehr freundlich und kümmern sich um die Organisation vor Ort. Auch eine Delphinsafari und eine Massage konnten wir über ihn buchen und hatten Glück und haben hunderte Delphine gesehen. Auch unsere täglichen Strandgänge wurden von den Hotelhunden Diggy und Similla begleitet, die sehr liebevoll sind. Wir haben unsere Zeit in den Dunetowers sehr genossen und können diese ausnahmslos weiterempfehlen. Wer etwas Zeit zum Abschalten benötigt, ist hier genau richtig, da rundum nicht viel geboten ist. Nur die Sand flies haben uns das Leben etwas schwerer gemacht. Ansonsten würden wir hier auf jeden Fall wieder kommen 👍🏼

Sam and Nilu are great hosts and they were attentive to us and provided us with everything we've asked. He was always around for us to ask any questions about any tips. They have gone beyond and done everything to give us a good experience for our little holiday. I can't highly recommend them enough.

Samith was extremely helpful and responsive. The hotel is beautiful and we chose to stay in the stylish wooden beach chalets. As an eco lodge, there is no air conditioning but the fans and chalets were perfectly cool. There is also no heated water but so the showers are warmer in the afternoon on a hot day but cold all day if it’s a cloudy day! Kalpitiya is very windy, and therefore, a great destination for kite surfing which was really fun, even for a beginner! It is a great alternative if you want some peace and quiet. The food was fantastic, especially if you happen to be there for their bbq nights which has seasonal produce including fresh fish, squid, prawns, chicken etc. The only slight criticism is that some stretches of beach are littered with plastic, which is common to other parts of Sri Lanka, although it is clear that the hotel has made efforts to go green and I would thoroughly recommend it!

We were lucky enough to meet the owners during our stay and they treated us like family. The view of the lagoon from your bed is an absolutely amazing way to wake up, along with the immediate offer of coffee as soon as you open your door. They easily arranged an afternoon boat trip for us to beautiful, quiet swimming spot in the mangroves at the edge of Willpatu National Park. They can arrange other activities such as kite-surfing, we just didnt have enough time. Our room was great! The bed was very comfortable and the outdoor bathroom was a fantastic touch. Upon arriving we were greeted by Rosie, one of the friendliest dogs we've ever met. All the meals we had there were extraordinarily delicious. Be sure to get the pumpkin curry if it's available. It was one of the best dishes we had on our entire trip. We strongly recommend this property for anyone who needs to unwind and relax. We can't wait to visit again!

Sam is a great Host! Always helping me with anything I needed. I felt always safe there, cute little huts. Little breakfast always on time! Relation price - quality is fair. I’ll comeback here

Het verblijf was echt fantastisch goed geregeld. Alle medewerkers zijn super vriendelijke en willen je overal bij helpen. Ik waande me als hun enige gast, zoveel aandacht kreeg ik. Strand is dichtbij, prachtige plek voor een zonsondergang op eerste rang. Het eten is vers en goed bereid. Genoeg ruimte om te doen wat je wilt. Aan een ieder aan te raden.

Un petit coin de paradis . Le lieux est très joli , une belle équipe, un bon chef de cuisine . Une piscine magnifique. Une sortie en Bateau réussi où nous avons vus des centaines de Dauphins . Un propriétaire très soucieux de la qualité du séjour , à l'écoute . Tout cela dans un cadre idyllique , à quelques pas de l'océan . Les chambres sont très confortables . Quel plaisir de rencontrer et de trouver des endroits qui laissent des souvenirs pleins la tête . Sans hésiter une destination qui vaut le détour ! Merci à toi Martin , et à toute l'équipe !

The cabana was spacious and very clean with a big shower to store boards and kites. Hot water as well! The garden is beautifuly arranged, directly at the beach. The restaurant serves delicious Sri lanken food but also European and the portions are very generous. Niru and Less are welcoming, very friendly and helpful. If you need a lift to town they go 3 to 4 times a week or take orders for stuff to buy. The beach is positioned perfectly to kite over to the lagoon in 2 min. We are deffenetly back!

Verborgen op het schiereiland Kalpitaya vind je een echt pareltje: een exclusief verblijf waar rust en luxe samensmelten. Bij aankomst lonkt een verfrissend welkomstdrankje, gevolgd door een ruime, uitnodigende kamer met grote ramen, terras, groot bed en een bad. Elke avond toont de bevlogen chef zijn vakmanschap met smaakvolle, lokale gerechten die verrassend puur blijven. Het leuke verfrissende zwembad met glijbaan en het slingerende padje naar het strand versterken het gevoel van ontdekking. Ondanks een onverharde toegangsweg en het ontbreken van een minibar(koelkast) blijft dit plekje een vondst voor wie even helemaal wil wegdromen. Een shoutout voor het personeel en hartelijk dank voor alles!

We didn't arrive very happy but mostly because we were tired and had other expextations of Kalpitiya. But.... After some rest we came to rest at Dinuda resort. We loved our Stay. The rooms are great, the Windows can be cleaner, the breakfast is awesome!! The menu for the restaurant is for our opinion a bit to expensive... The Stay was perfect!

Mooie locatie vlak aan zee, mooi zwembad en het personeel is werkelijk waar fantastisch, zo ontzettend vriendelijk.

For swimming at ocean you just step out the bungalow and walk to the beach

Stayed there for two nights. Great atmosphere, the food is good and there’s an amazing sunset view. Akashi was very friendly and helpful. Overall it is a great place to stay.

Where to start. Must say the staff, Cynthia, Roy and Nishanthe went over and above to meet any requirement and request we had. I was mostly by myself with my 10months old baby and they were so helpful with anything. There was though one thing that I got surprised about and it’s access to the beach. Had to cross a road (did get this before I checked in) and leave private belongings on the sand. Not convenient with a baby and didn’t feel that comfortable at the beach. The pool helped a lot, but it needs an upgrade, some tiles were edgy and sharp, and many insects and ants in and Around the pool. The hosts did their best to help out! All in all I am so thankful for finding spicy of Ceylon!

We really loved it here and stayed longer than expected. beautiful extraordinary sunset views and large maintained gardens with palm trees loads of shade wooden loungers wonderful large clean swimming pool. A 20 minute walk into the nearest town or 5 minute tuktuk.. market stalls nearby. altogether a great finish to our winter sun trip. thank you.

We loved staying here! Susantha and his family have created a really cool and beautiful place with a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Our room was really comfortable and clean and we enjoyed having a private place to relax as well as spending time in the communal areas meeting other travellers. Although this is a spot for kite surfing we came here to just relax away from a busy tourist beach (it's a very quiet area with a tiny town) and for this it was perfect. We felt so welcomed by Susantha, his family and the other travellers that it felt like home. We hope to come back one day and learn to kite surf, we've been inspired :)

Susantha är en härlig karaktär, umgås med sina gäster, pratar mycket och skrattar hela tiden. Hans mamma lagar fantastiskt goda middagar. Frukosten är ganska bra. Jag bytte från backpacker rum som var litet till en cabana med eget badrum och dusch för att det var mer prisvärt.

We couldn’t recommend staying at Ruuk Village more. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the private area at the front is relaxing and pretty, and the private bathroom is in keeping with the whole theme of the village. Our stay was made even better by the staff, who were always attentive, and the food provide was delicious - the authentic Sri Lankan dinners and breakfasts were brilliant. Don’t come here if you’re looking for 5* hotel treatment, but DO come here if you’re looking for friendly, flawless treatment with rustic, charming rooms only metres from beautiful views. All in all, we couldn’t recommend Ruuk Village highly enough.

Wir waren 2 Tage in der Unterkunft von Nayan und ich würde sofort wieder dorthin zurückkehren! Es ist idyllisch und ruhig und man ist an einem wunderschönen Strand! Das Bett ist sehr gemütlich und die ganze Anlage ist ein Traum! Pradeep hat uns ein wunderbares Abendessen organisiert und uns, wenn wir Hilfe brauchten sofort geholfen!

We werden vriendelijk ontvangen door Martinez. Het huisje was erg compleet: Er was fruit, water, koekjes en koffie, thee, melk aanwezig. Meerdere handdoeken en een wasmachine. We hadden het kleine zwembad en het hele terrein voor onszelf. Praheeb en z'n vrouw hebben geweldig voor ons gezorgd. Heerlijke maaltijden en fruit. Ze hebben ons meegenomen voor een tour langs een zoutfabriek, een batikfabriek: fantastisch. Martinez heeft ons naar Negombo gebracht. Dankjulliewel voor de goede zorgen

We were upgraded from the other property on site to the Honeymoon Suite. The secluded setting among the rough sand dunes is amazing and the architecture of the building is impressive. Some of the furnishings are a bit “tired” but that did not detract from our wonderful experience. There were very few mosquitoes but some flies and midges, a minor inconvenience and sorted out with insecticide. We had the endless, sandy beach practically to ourselves. We enjoyed watching the wildlife – eagles, peacocks, mongoose, palm squirrels, myna birds, bee-eaters and goats – from the suite. But what impressed and touched us most of all were the staff! Never before have we been so wonderfully looked after. They all went out of their way to be helpful and considerate. There are no restaurants nearby so all meals were freshly prepared for us and delicious. Prices were very reasonable. Nishani was kind, generous and exceptionally responsive and, although far away, felt like she was right there.

Nayan ist es gelungen an einem besonders schönen Ort, in einem Palmengarten sehr viel Privatsphäre mit unglaublich guten Service zu erschaffen. Die Mitarbeiter sind wirklich ganz besonders hilfsbereit, super flexibel und sehr freundlich. Man fühlt sich perfekt versorgt. Wir haben jeden Tag frische Kokosnüsse geerntet bekommen, es wurde für uns sehr sehr lecker nach unseren Wünschen gekocht und wir konnten mehrmals einen Fahrer bestellen, der uns den ganzen Tag begleitet hat. Ein beeindruckender Strand, an dem man Kilometer lang spazieren gehen und ausgiebig baden kann, schließt direkt an Nayans Paradies an. Die beiden Hunde sind ganz treue und entspannte Freunde, auch sie werde ich vermissen. Ein Paradies. Ich kann die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.
