This home is a gem in disguise. The landscaping is absolutely beautiful. We came here for a week. It was a long drive from the San Jose international airport but well worth it. Very sweet local town. The people in the town are really nice. The food is absolutely delicious and clean. Ice cream is delicious. We had a wonderful vacation, celebrating our sister’s 60th birthday. We loved having the pool to relax at during the heat of the day. Great kitchen to make breakfast everyday. Grocery store is not far at all. The dog and 2 cats are so cute and sweet. I 100% recommend this beautiful paradise home to everyone. 🩷 Susana was fantastic!! Thank you to the owner for sharing your home

Daniel went above and beyond to make sure we had nothing short of an amazing stay here in Casa Cocles! Daniel was checking on us through the trip to make sure we knew of the local spots and must-visit areas. He also greeted us with some fresh cut fruit to munch which was very refreshing! The location is at a really convenient spot that allowed for worry-less travel between different activities. We ended up visiting the animal rescuer center, countless Puerto Viejo restaurants, Cahuita National Park, BriBri tribe territory, lots of beaches , etc and these all felt very accesible and easy to get to with or without a rental car. Some tours even offer to pick us up exactly at Casa Cocles for free! We were super grateful and happy with our stay, and will definitely be coming back here for future getaways!

We had an incredible, memorable stay at Maythemi, Kalani, and Kalil's home. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house was spotless, nicely decorated with a charming island vibe, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved starting our mornings with coffee on the veranda overlooking the beautifully landscaped front yard. The beachside location was perfect with close proximity to Puerto Viejo and the magnificent area beaches, restaurants, and attractions. Our hosts were exceptional, they were delightful, always responsive to our needs and questions, and full of great recommendations for making the most of our vacation. This stay was amazing and we can't wait wait to get back to Maythemi, Kalani, and Kalili's slice of paradise in the future.

This place is absolutely beautiful!!! It has everything you need and was very clean. Pedro and Sylvie are the best Hosts. They are always there if you need anything and can help you find local places. The house is just a few steps to the ocean. The view from the upstairs living area looking out to the ocean is breath taking!! We saw Sid the sloth several times along with lots of birds and a monkey!! We enjoyed the pool and used the BBQ pit - which is really great! The house and grounds are just beautiful so much more than the pictures!!! I did not want to leave and I'm planning a trip back just as soon as possible!

We had a wonderful stay in Punta Uva. The grounds around the home are lovely with jungle plants and little creatures. We loved mornings on the beach and coffee from the local coffee shop around the corner. So good! Unfortunately the waves were rough the whole time we were there so we didn't get to try any snorkeling. The road can also get busy with people but there was always enough beach space to play in the waves. The open air part of the home (kitchen etc) is very rustic but charming. We enjoyed the outdoor shower. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very nicely done and the ac was appreciated. We had a little trouble communicating with the caretakers on site though they were responsive once we got ahold of them. I recommend that you get a what's app conversation going when you check in so that the communication is easier. There are many restaurants in Cocles just up the road that are delicious and Puerto Viejo is a cute town to shop in and check out the black sand beach.

Don’t hesitate—book this place now! Our stay here was absolutely magical. We were surrounded by incredible wildlife without even leaving the complex—a sloth was practically at our doorstep! While it’s not luxury, the accommodation is charming, clean, and well-equipped, with comfy beds and great amenities. Aside from the soothing sounds of nature and the ocean, it’s wonderfully peaceful. The beach is just a short walk away, and on our adventures, we spotted howler monkeys, hummingbirds, and even turtles. I can’t recommend this place enough—it’s been the perfect start to our Costa Rica trip!

Truly a magical stay. The openness of the upper level allowed us to experience the outdoors & the beautiful sounds of nature while still feeling very private. The house was well stocked with everything we needed.

Great location, convenient to Cahuita & Puerto Viejo. Great value for a whole house with a private pool and beautiful outdoor living space. We watched capuchins playing above the backyard and a toucan perched above the house one morning and we heard howler monkeys, as well. Check in was a little tricky because you have to meet the manager, Yordi, at the home for check-in, but he was very responsive to texts and was good to work with. The home had everything we needed. Water pressure was very poor in the master shower, but was great in the 2nd bath, so we just used that one. We loved the European style bedding. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We loved our stay at this Airbnb so much. Tommaso was so responsive on our late arrival when we couldn’t figure out the a/c and even came in person to help us. This place and setting is even more beautiful than the pictures. We loved our private oasis and we used our pool for a refreshing dip after a long day of hiking or being on the beach. We used the kitchen every morning to make breakfast and it had all the amenities you could need. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated having a hot shower every day! When staying here, take advantage of the beautiful Chiquita beach just across the street and down a tropical path. We even saw a sloth above us on the trail. We had such an incredible time in Costa Rica and hope to be back again!!

Beautiful house on Playa Negra. All the details are very well cared for, the furniture, the kitchen utensils, the linens and bathroom are all top quality, an excellent choice for a few days in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.

We loved our stay at Tucán Escondido! Amazing setting, comfortable and spacious home for a small group. Great space for a small group or family in a serene setting but close to the attractions of Puerto Viejo.

As we wrap up our second month stay at Casa Luna, we find ourselves reluctant to leave. This cabina has been the perfect retreat—whether for relaxation, reflection and remote work. The WiFi is impressively strong and reliable, making it easy to stay connected. Air conditioner in the bedroom was a bonus. Everything at the cabina was clean and organized. And the hot showers? An absolute luxury! Victoria made our arrival seamless, kindly picking us up at Banana Azul—something we truly appreciated, given all our luggage. From the moment we arrived, she was a wonderful guide, offering great recommendations for local eateries, must-see spots, and navigating Puerto Viejo. One of the most special parts of our stay was being welcomed into her home, where we had the privilege of meeting her family and her friends from Canada and Wyoming. Her warmth and generosity made our time here feel extra special. We will miss her dearly, along with her sweet pups. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful house! The layout of the space is great and is a lot bigger than photos lead on. The whole property is well maintained and kept. Eric the host is super helpful and responsive when anything is needed. The whole property is completely gated which allows you to feel very safe, and also allows two cars to be parked without problems. The neighborhood is nice and quiet away from PV but close enough! We will definitely be back

The place is very quiet, you can hear the animals in the area and the location is great, the beach is 150 meters from the place

We really liked the cottage with all the natural surroundings. We were close to everything, but still had some privacy. The cottage is super cozy and equipped with everything you need. The location is great and you can reach the center of Puerto Viejo or the several beaches very quickly on foot or by bike. We always felt safe. Megan and Oded were also able to give us lots of helpful tips and options that we wouldn't have found on our own. Our stay was even better because of this beautiful accommodation. We had a wonderful time and got to experience really stunning scenery! The house was pristine and the pool was so refreshing! Make sure you have a 4×4 to get to this location!!!
