My stay at Uros island Summa Paqari was amazing and unique! It was exactly like on photos and even better. The place is nicely decorated and very clean. It has shower and toilet, places to stay on the deck and many blankets if it’s chilly. Vidal did the boat tour around the community. They also provided additional dinner at very cosy dining room on their island. Overall very nice and unique experience, highly recommended!

Beautiful views, the most unique possible setting, Joel is kind and attentive. We recommend getting dinner before you arrive, but if you don’t Joel and his family will make dinner for you. We got a personal tour from Joel of the reserve where the Totoro reeds are harvested and people search for duck eggs, and that was a highlight.

Helmer and Jessica were incredibly lovely, they were extremely responsive from the get go. He picked us up very promptly from the port in Puno and took us to his lovely family home. We learnt lots about Uros culture and his family were so welcoming. The accommodation was beautiful, a perfect escape after the business of La Paz and Puno. I would recommend to anybody keen to visit Lake Titicaca. 5 stars!!

There aren’t enough stars on the scale for this. Zeze went above and beyond with his helpfulness and willingness to show us around the farm, help us schedule activities, rides, food, and so on. Hes a natural travel guide who is hosting at an incredible farm . The animals are so wonderful and the place feels timeless . Communication was excellent. It’s extremely peaceful. It’s like you are back in the 1800’s , but without the work to do. This is a very, very relaxing and special place. I hope to be back some day!

Incredible place. We had the most delightful stay with Gilber and his beautiful family. If you want an authentic experience of Uros culture and traditions, Gilber and his family go out of their way to deliver this, while making you as comfortable as possible. The island is peacefully located beyond the main "tourist" islands offering day trips. We were picked up by boat and taken out to the island, where we were made so comfortable. Gilber provided us with a lesson on the history of the Uros, and gave us time to ask questions. We were able to explore the area by boat and learned so much about this amazing community. Food was beautifully presented and carefully prepared, and they were accommodating of my wife's gluten intolerance. The accommodation was so comfortable, with hot water bottles provided to combat the cold nights. Overall, the highlight of our trip, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

One thing to keep in mind is this lodge is really remote and set apart from the big group of "uros islands" that are close together so it is kind of aways from the Kalapajra port. If you are looking to detox and unplug from the world this is the perfect place. There is internet which is useful for short-stop communications, or to check-in on flights. Hot shower is available. I was a bit concerned about the eco-toilet, in terms of smell, but it was fine. The place itself and surrounding is amazing, just like in the pictures. The food is bountiful and delicious. The host Mr Ivan speaks exceptional English and very personable and chatted with us one evening, he is like a real friendly and fun neighbor. I was able to arrange a late check-in and early checkout, they are flexible whenever it can be accommodated. I highly recommend and I would not hesitate to come back and stay again.

Return visit to Casa Don Jose. Again Nancy was very friendly and helpful. My luggage had been stored from previous visit and I was able to check in earlier than expected. Short walk to main square, restaurants and laundry etc. excellent place for an overnight stay in Puno.

Elsa, Juan, and Sarai...were super hosts. For us, being on their island was a very nice experience for our lives. We struggled to go...our children were immensely happy with Sarai, Elsa and Juan's youngest daughter. Elsa and Juan word people. Thoughtful and with all my heart to give. Absolute pleasure.

Even though the electricity had been knocked out for our entire stay and one of us was sick with the flu (me - ugh), we loved our visit to Fundo Chincheros. This is an experience you can't get staying at a hotel. The amenities are basic but comfortable - it's a farm, after all - and the real attraction is just BEING THERE, as opposed to being entertained. The views are to die for, and we never tired of watching the animals go about their business. The dogs accompanied us on all our walks, which was a real treat, almost like they've christened themselves the official tour guides. We also opted to have our meals prepared for us, and every one was more delicious than the one before....fresh, creative and lots of options! If being out in nature is your thing, Fundo Chincheros is fantastic.

The Uros lodge is an amazing place! It is situated at the edge of Lake Titicaca, but away from the rest of the Uros community, so it is quite private. The hosts are very personable and took us on a tour of the Uros community on the other floating islands before going to the lodge...we even tagged a long to pick up their child from school which made it all the more special (quite a different school pick-up line than we'd ever seen before!). But don't expect it to be like a luxury hotel...it's more like glamping; water is carefully conserved, as is electricity. The meals are simple, but of high quality and generous portion sizes. If you want a quiet, beautiful place to relax and do as little as possible, this is the place! It was the highlight of our trip to Peru.

A highly recommended space to stay/store luggage during your stay in Puno. The room can turn out to be cold at night, but with the thick of the available blankets it can be warm enough. The cleaning service is done, but only upon request when it is deemed necessary. Whisk, the kitten in the house, welcomes you as well as very playful and affectionate. It is a great company and it is who I will miss the house most. Good service!
