Old Police Station, Portsoy

MarkRating, 5 stars2 months ago
The Old Police House is something special. Warm, homely, very clean, well equipped and in a fantastic location in the beautiful harbour village of Portsoy. The Old Police House felt like home from home. As soon as you walk through the door for the first time, the feeling of 'welcome' grabs you. It's a great base to explore the local area. The village of Portsoy has all of the shops that you'll need. Wendy (the host) was lovely and very responsive. The welcome pack included a complimentary bottle of Prosecco—beyond perfect, and we were so grateful—a lovely touch. In a nutshell. A perfect house in a perfect village with perfect surroundings - walks and beaches.

No. 56

Loved staying in the cottage in Portsoy, it was a cold, but sunny with showers weekend so the arga warmed the kitchen/dinning room and the house. Great location with the historic harbour, coastal works, dinner at Spire and award winning ice cream shops in Portsoy and Cullen.

The Byre at Baley Farmhouse - Beautiful location

WilliamRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
John and Rich have added this cottage to provide accommodation for guests with mobility issues. They we there to welcome us and show us the place. And they were very welcoming of our 2 dogs. They were so kind, even putting a shower chair in the bath. The cottage is a nice size and the bathroom is very workable for my wife. She uses a wheelchair out and about, and a walker inside. She navigated the accommodation just fine with her walker, but was unsure she could in the wheelchair. The hosts also realise the gravel in the approach to the front door is not compatible with a wheelchair. They told us they were going to chage that. We only ate breakfast in the cottage, enjoying the wonderful restaurants in Portsoy and Cullen for dinner. If you want to eat in, there is a big Tesco in Buckie, 20 minutes away, and Coops in most villages. But I recommend you try the restaurant in the Seafield Hotel in Cullen. What a great dinner we had there. We had a lovely weekend.

Cabin by the Pier - a unique seaside location

A really special property in a really special spot. Warm and very comfortable with stunning views. Well equipped with a comfortable bed and great shower. We were really lucky with the weather and I swam off the pier each day! Portmahomack is worth a visit as is the Discovery Centre and the lighthouse.

Puffin Cottage 21 Pennan

RichardRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
If you’re looking for authentic, quirky, and charming—this is it. Puffin Cottage in Pennan is a special place where time slows down and the North Sea sings you to sleep. My son and I built a lifetime of memories—exploring, laughing, and settling in by the cozy fire. The cottage has everything you need, but it’s the character that shines. From low doorways to steep stairs, you quickly learn the old fishermen were built a bit smaller—one knock to the head and you’ll remember to duck. The neighbors are warm and kind. Fiona next door is a gifted photographer with an eye for the aurora. Shona at Coastal Cuppie is a sorceress in the kitchen—her scones are unforgettable. And Gayle, the owner, was wonderful—kind, responsive, and ensured we settled in without a hitch. If you’re lucky enough to stay here, you’ll fall in love with the sound of waves, the charm of the village, and the peaceful magic of Pennan. We can’t wait to return.

Unique luxury 2 bedroom Gatehouse

MatthewRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This was the perfect, unique, location to home base from for visiting Inverness, the Lochness Experience, and Urquhart castle, as well as our highland cow lunch! The host was extremely generous in leaving a small presentation of locally sourced treats to munch on during our stay. We even saw a deer bounding on the property. Wish we had more time here.

The Castle Byre

EmilyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I stayed here with a friend, and without a doubt, this was the best accommodation of our trip—and even better than my last visit to Scotland. From start to finish, everything about our stay was exceptional. Colin and Penny thought of every detail to make our experience special. We loved starting our mornings with the Nespresso, butteries, and toast they provided, and the fire basket in the garden overlooking Auchindoun Castle was a perfect way to unwind in the evenings. The peaceful setting made for a truly relaxing stay—we enjoyed watching pheasants wander through the garden, listening to the sheep in the nearby fields, and exploring the castle just a short walk away. It was five-star comfort in every sense. I’ll absolutely be rebooking this place for my next trip to Scotland—it made everything feel just right. Thanks again!
