Vacation rentals with beach access in Portsmouth

Very close to Busch Gardens as stated and easy to find. The home was very clean and had lots of brochures for nearby activities and restaurants. Everyone including myself stated having had great sleep. The host is very easy to get ahold of and quick to respond. I highly recommend this Airbnb!

Amazing host for taking us in on a few hours notice. Clean property with clear rules and easy to contact for any questions. The property even had extra trash bags which was a huge help when needing to clean up before checkout time. I personally haven’t had any other airbnbs with extra trash bags so that was a major plus!

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Location was walking distance from the Virginia Beach boardwalk and plenty of restaurants and shopping. Had a great time. Would definitely come back.

Great location and nice place for a beach getaway. The description and photos matched perfectly. We would absolutely return the next time we are looking for a place.

We really enjoyed our stay at Josh & Maegan’s place right on the beach! The building is on the last block of the boardwalk, which is a great location because you can get right on the boardwalk directly outside the building, but since it's at the end of the boardwalk, it is much quieter and less busy than further down. The building is older but very well kept up, as was the apartment. The building's pool is small but nice, and there is a grassy sitting area with chairs and tables directly off the beach, which was lovely to sit at. The apartment is small (would not recommend three people squeezing in there), but perfect for two people if you are not spending much time inside and has all the amenities you need to cook simple meals. I would absolutely stay again!

We loved our stay, it’s easy walking distance to the beach and other attractions, 5 min drive to the aquarium. The place was very clean, no sand or anything in the unit upon check in and we overall had a very positive experience.

Great stay. Appreciate having the Keurig for coffee. Could use replacement cooking utensils as some were a bit worn and melted. Place has just enough for a short stay. Towels and linens were clean. Distance to the beach was a plus, only a two minute drive.

Kelly was responsive in letting us know we could check in early. This was helpful because we drove to the house. We arrived a little early and it was nice to be able to relax. The place was clean and had the amenities as described. We contacted Kelly several times during packing to know what to bring, and promptly answered.

This was our second stay at this Airbnb and we were incredibly glad we decided to book again! The place is exactly as described, has all the beach supplies so you don’t need to pack it all, is just a quick walk to beach (awesome with kids), and the view can’t be beat. Heidi was an extremely responsive host who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was fantastic - you can tell her priority is the guest! My family of 5 plus a grandma enjoyed lazy mornings on the patio, taking in stunning sunsets over dinner, and long days on the beach (bathroom breaks back at the house are a snap due to the close proximity). The outdoor shower with warm water is especially helpful with kids! We will be back at least twice this upcoming year. Thanks for another great stay!

This was an awesome location and the pics doesn't do it justice. Steps to the beach with plenty of food options in the area. The split floors are perfect for family/group trip, especially with children.

Lisa was exceptional, responded quickly and just an overall pleasure to deal with. The home was great and the location was good as well.

Family vacation for almost a week and everyone loved it! We definitely recommend families to come to the Blue Octopus for their next visit to Ocean View-Willoughby Spit. Friendly, clean and with all the amenities for the whole family.

The Sonshine Home was in such a cute neighborhood with a unique history, mature trees, and only a short peaceful stroll to the beach. The house was so unique & cute and we loved the recommendations Dana shared. We tried out Si Senor, and loved it. We enjoyed making a puzzle in the dining room & sitting around reading after a long day exploring Williamsburg/Yorktown/Jamestown. Things I wish I knew beforehand: the upstairs, where the bedrooms are, runs about 15 degrees hotter than the downstairs, making it very hard to sleep at night unless you set up the fans in the hall and bedrooms to move the cool air into the bedroom to cool it off enough to sleep comfortably. Though there's no filtered water, the tap water tasted just fine. The cowboy tub drains a lot of water out of it, so the water doesn't cover you completely in the bathtub like most cowboy tubs. There's no shampoo/shower gel, etc, provided. A good, responsive host makes or breaks a place and Dana rocked! A 5 star stay!

We could not be happier to have chose Mandy & Kevin’s place for our Norfolk vacation! The home had ample space for our family to spread out and truly was SO UNBELIEVABLY WELL STOCKED. Spices, condiments, cooking spray, cleaning supplies, and so much more. Honestly, it was so wonderful knowing we had Tupperware for lunches at the beach, kid friendly plates, bowls, cups and cutlery. There was ample beach toys (the beach wagon was a life saver) and while the walk to the beach was a breeze, not all cars stop for pedestrians and tiny toddlers may not do the walk independently as easily. Overall we have nothing but positive things to say and highly recommend this spot for small families (so kid friendly!) looking for a peaceful and perfect kid friendly beach experience.

The only issue we had was our code for the building and parking did not work at first! Pam was very quick to resolve! There are no elevators in parking garage, I would take my stuff in at the entrance and then park! Dolphin run staff was not much help! We had a second car that we were supposed to get a parking permit for. They just told us to park and not worry about signs that clearly stated towed with no permit. Our car did NOT get towed!

What an amazing stay! I've never been satisfied with an Airbnb, the photos always are so much nicer than the reality - but Big Blue was actually even better than advertised! Merlyn's communication prior to arrival made things very easy. Accessing the unit was simple, and I felt safe with the self-locking doors. The unit was clean and so comfortable, with many personal touches - I instantly felt at home. I was overjoyed when I arrived and toured the unit. Really exceeded my expectations which was such a different feeling than all the other Airbnb I've rented over the years. The beach access was tidy and pretty, the gym and beach gear a nice touch, and the foot wash station was appreciated after my morning walks with the dog. I really can't say enough great things about my stay here. Hosts were friendly and helpful every step of the way. We mostly spent our time traveling around the area from VA Beach to OBX so I can't speak much about Norfolk/Ocean View. I would def rent Big Blue again.

This was our second time staying at one of Rebecca and Sean’s VA Beach condos — and the experience did not disappoint! This is just a perfect location, at the very end of the Boardwalk, with a private grassy lawn and outdoor seating just for the condo residents. Lots of restaurants in the surrounding blocks. Our favorite thing is the view — you look right out onto the ocean from the patio, and you can see the beach and the sunrise from the comfortable bed each morning. We spent unhurried hours sitting on the patio in the evenings enjoying the sound of lapping waves and the night sky. This cozy studio was just right for the two of us. Highly recommend. I’ve no doubt we’ll stay there again in the future!

We enjoyed staying at Kelly's place in VB. Its an ideal location for anyone who wants to stay right at the boardwalk. We witnessed amazing sunrises and moonrises. The ocean was right in front of us and from the 6th floor, the view was expansive. A lot of restaurants were also nearby. Kelly was always very communicative, polite and professional. The apartment was clean with the kitchen well stocked with utensils The bedrooms were of a pretty large size. And parking was on the premises. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and holiday for us. We strongly recommend Kelly's place.

My family really enjoyed our vacation. It was a great location to the beach and a private pool. It was our first vavation w/ an 18month old and 1 on the way. Randy was very quick to respond to any questions. A+

Can highly recommend Crystal's condo. She was great to work with, very responsive and her condo had everything we could have needed. Our stayed played out exactly as we'd hoped. Would gladly stay here again if our travels take us back to the Williamsburg/Newport News area.
