Cottage vacation rentals in Portland

We had a wonderful stay at Bailey and Diane’s place and they were very responsive and helpful hosts. The home is in a great location, walkable to local attractions and full of thoughtful touches. We loved the little covered in porch, perfect for book reading!

The place was clean, family friendly, and had such fun decor! I felt the home would have been better suited for a stay during warmer months, but it was a great place for a quick getaway and close to so many incredible restaurants and shops! Thanks for having us!

Place was dated but nice. We found it a little small for our family of 4. Overall is was a good place to stay if you aren't spending much time in doors.

Elizabeth was a wonderful host and her home is perfect for a peaceful, relaxing vacation. The house was spotless, well appointed, and very cozy. The short walk to the beach and town market is really convenient. Her rental is a perfect home base if you’re visiting Portland or exploring the Maine coast nearby.

Loved it! It was relaxing and deff worth the price. We’ll deff be back next time we’re in the area.

Don’t tell anyone about Shelley’s place! We want to be the only ones to be there!!!!! We had a beautiful time ! Me, my daughter and her 2 yr old son. The lake is soooooo clear and relaxing. Canoed every day. Loons in the lake everyday. Went and picked blueberries and went to the children’s museum😃 Close to Portland! We’ll bring the Daddy next time! Thanks Shelley

I was there for 155 days and was very comfortable. I enjoyed the view and the area, shops, restaurants, etc. My host was extremely friendly!! I highly recommend staying here if you enjoy the beach!!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Debbie’s cabin. The interior is tidy, simply furnished and decorated with Debbie’s nice paintings. The heater worked well, but it was a little noisy. Luckily we didn’t need it through the night, so we were able to enjoy the peace and calm of the quiet lakeside location. Nothing like waking up to the view of that pristine lake. Some mornings it was so still it reflected the trees. We loved that. Water pressure was a little touch and go, but overall not a problem.

We had a great stay at Audrey & Seb's place. It was spacious, beautifully decorated, and extremely clean. The beds were super comfortable, the location was private and close to town, and there was so much thought put into all the little details. What an absolutely wonderful place. Thank you so much!

This was perfect for me, my daughters and granddaughter!! It was close to so many things and to Old Orchard Beach and the Pier. We had a great time there and would stay there again in a heartbeat!! Thank you!

This bnb was super nice and clean. Exactly like the description. Hot tub was a plus. I’d love to stay again in the summer to enjoy the lake.

The place was quiet & cozy with everything we needed. Mini split AC in both living and bedroom. Two comfy queen beds. Small patio. Everything we needed and great location between Kennebunk and Ogunquit! Would recommend.

Nice private area, close by to a few small-towns for groceries, gas, etc. Property was very scenic and often only sounds that could be heard were birds. Slept 5 comfortably and never felt crowded. 10/10

We had a wonderful time at this vacation house in Maine. The views were breathtaking and the cottage was cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

As described in the listing, the cottage is cozy and seems recently updated, with a nice kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked, there's a tankless water heater so no issues with running out of hot water, and the house is very clean. The beach is a couple of minutes walk, as is a general store with sandwiches, pizza, etc., a boat rental company, and a restaurant. We didn't have any issues during our stay, but the owner was very responsive in terms of answering questions about what to bring, etc.

Everything you could need they had. It was relaxing and cozy and Michelle was very nice! Can’t beat the location. I couldn’t believe all of the things she had! My husband had a headache she had Tylenol. S’mores stuff, every coffee and tea you could ever want. We will be back!

Beautiful location, perfect stay with amazing hosts! This was the perfect getaway for our family and we cannot wait to go back! The location can't be beat and Kate and Barry went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

To say we enjoyed our stay is an understatement. Everything about the cottage was cozy, clean, charming, and comfortable. Coreen was so accommodating and stayed in good touch when we had a question. The location and set up of the house was stellar. Everything was intuitive from the kitchen to the bathrooms and full set up. The photos accurately depicted the charm of this adorable cottage! We look forward to renting this house again in the future — hopefully in the summer next time so we can catch the summer vibe of this cottage!

Such a beautiful spot--Christine's house has gorgeous views, a dock and many kayaks. We enjoyed our stay--sitting on the deck, seeing the Northern Lights (!!)--thank you Christine for the heads up! Harpswell is a special place and this beach cottage is special as well. Loved the view from the spacious bedroom. Great hiking and local seafood.

The Broken Compass is the perfect little get away! We loved sitting down by the fire pit and having our meals on the great screened in porch out front. The beds were comfortable, the home is well decorated and free of clutter, and they had everything we needed to cook 3 meals a day. Had a slight issue at check in, but John was super responsive and proactive in helping us out and the rest of the trip was excellent. We absolutely will come back!

Absolutely loved our stay at this lake cabin! It's nestled right on the water, making it a perfect spot for peaceful mornings and unbeatable fishing. The sunsets over the lake are absolutely stunning — a real highlight of the trip. The cabin itself has a rustic charm, filled with unique vintage touches that make it feel cozy and full of character. It's quiet, far enough from the city to truly relax, but still conveniently close to town if you need anything. A wonderful place to unwind and make lasting memories with family. Can't wait to come back!
