In Portese gibt es keinen Massentourismus und selbst in der Hauptsaison herrscht eine idyllische Ruhe. Trotzdem ist Salo schnell und bequem erreichbar (ca. 4 Min.). Auch das Umland (z. B. Verona, Brescia, Milano, Leone, Francia Corta) ist leicht und einfach zu erreichen.
