The lodge is surrounded by the fabulous Shropshire hills, a mile to the nearest pub yet just 10-15 minute away from the centre of Shrewsbury. There is a private seating area outside the front of the lodge and access to the pony paddocks if you have a dog that needs a run! It has basic kitchen facilities along with a king size bed, a wood burning stove and a piping hot shower. We have reliable wifi, no tv and an ok mobile signal. Lovely up here this time of year and plenty of wildlife to be seen; deer in the garden, swallows zooming about, the other morning I saw two hares leaping and sparring in the front yard - just great.

This is a great location for lovers of both town and country. Only a short distance to the magnificent Shropshire Hills which offer excellent hiking and cycling and also only a short drive to Shrewsbury Town Centre which is famous for its medieval buildings, Norman castle and Abbey. The town is great for shopping and socialising and hosts a large number of independent retailers, excellent restaurants, traditional pubs and cocktail bars. We have good internet access and a smart TV.

The Summerhouse Tower is a very special holiday-home-for-two set within the rolling Shropshire countryside. A Grade II listed tower, this unique, romantic retreat enjoys excellent views to the east, and views of the Shropshire Hills to the south and the west. The Tower, built circa 1607, was originally used as a banqueting house for entertaining dinner guests. Whilst the main house was destroyed by a fire, The Summer House is available for cosy stays throughout the year.

The Welsh border is only a few miles away which acts as a gateway to Mid & North Wales. Close to local wedding venues
