We had a wonderful stay! The host was amazing! The house is beautiful! We would love to stay here again.

The place was as-described and a great way to cool off after a long day at VIR.

My stay at the cottage was better than I could have hoped! I think the description somewhat undersells the home, with its original wood, multiple fireplaces, and cozy charm. The home was peaceful, but centrally located enough to make walking into town very easy. Sarah was communicative, friendly, and helpful. Would absolutely recommend a stay here! My only note would be for taller individuals--given it's an older building there is not a ton of head clearance, particularly in the bedroom.

This house is an amazing undertaking. When you read the history of this home, it is obvious, it requires a special person, a lover of history and restoration, to take on a project like this. While staying at the property, Taylore was in constant contact with my family as we prepared for our daughter's wedding in Danville, VA. We were amazed at the original features, she (Taylore) has been able to preserve in a mansion of this size. We appreciated the newer accessories in the kitchen, etc... and really enjoyed the large dining areas to congregate and talk! We look forward to renting again!

Yuan was an amazing host super accommodating with my last-minute booking after our original plans fell through. After a quick conversation, he had no problem with us bringing pets, which was a huge relief. The home was clean, in a quiet, lovely neighborhood, and bonus there’s a pool! Highly recommend.

After working 7 months straight I decided to take a weekend off and enjoy an Airbnb with my family. I only required a pool and grill. This place had everything. It was my families first stay in an Airbnb. We truly enjoyed every moment of it. Even my mom said she would return. My dad passed away a year ago and he love the casino in Danville. We were less than 15 mins away and decided to honor him by stopping by to play for an hour. It was really a wonderful relaxing weekend.

We had an awesome time at Marks Place. This is our first time to visit Hyco lake and can’t wait to return. This house is absolutely stunning and so comfortable. Most of our family never left the house for the entire week. The lake and pool was beautiful. We could not believe how peaceful the location is and the surrounding areas. We were the only people in our cove for the entire week. We can’t wait to rent this place again, thanks for sharing your home with us

I have one complaint and it’s a pretty big one, we had to leave! This place was truly an absolute DREAM! We had the best time soaking up some sun in our own private space with so many fun activities to do in the backyard! The house was clean and functional and exactly as pictured. The outside was even more beautiful than the pictures and more fun than we imagined!! Our two year old had the time of her life in the hot tub/cowboy pool and it was so lovely we didn’t even end up needing or using the heater! The grounds themselves were lovely, stunning views any way you looked! Places to relax, places to play… one of the best stays. We look forward to returning and enjoying more time as not much else will ever compare! Also Keith was communicative and a kind host!

Great stay! It's in a very private and peaceful location. The directions were a little confusing because they took us to a trailer right before the house, so we figured we could just keep going down the gravel road, and there would be the house. Don't let that piece distract from how hospitable Mrs. Jessie was! She was super responsive and very welcoming into her home. They have done some nice remodeling! If you're a Hyperfest/VIR fan, the house is only 10 minutes from the track!

Jeremy’s place and the location was absolutely beautiful! We really enjoyed the hot tub and being able to fish off of the dock! Would definitely visit again!

Such a wonderful place to stay! My family & I had a great time. The place was clean, there are a ton of floats, games, chairs and other supplies to make your stay enjoyable. The boat dock worked well for our boat, and we spent a good bit of time hanging out down there or on the screened porch. The walk from the boat dock to the house is a bit of a hill (like most the houses on Hyco) so consider that if you’re traveling with small children or older adults who may not walk well. Jerome & Elena are wonderful hosts and were responsive, respectful, and great to work with throughout this entire process. We’ll be back!

This rustic trailer was really off the beaten path. There were some scary, dark gravel roads that were difficult to find (especially at 4 o'clock in the morning) considering there was no internet/wifi connections available. Truly off the grid. I may have looked into obtaining a hot-spot had i known in advance. As for the accommodations, our hostess put in effort to provide clean towels and toiletries but i found out the hard way that the water needs to run for awhile to get the brown water out of the line. Oh, walking into the trailer and being greeted by a mounted deer on the wall may have startled the uninitiated. Waking up in the morning to this local lake was beautiful and refreshing. Im a city boy but definitely appreciated the scenery. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your place. It was definitely an experience!

Amy was a fabulous host. I'll admit I was a little hesitant about booking because she & the house were new to the site. I'm so thankful I took a chance. We had a little hiccup with checking in (door code wasn't working) but Amy immediately responded and resolved, even with it being after 11 pm. The house was perfect for me and my two adult kids. We each had our own space to relax. The bottom covered patio was the perfect place for watching thunderstorms over the lake. We took the kayaks out one day and lounged on the dock & swam another. The kitchen was well stocked & organized. She even had pictures of what went where so you didn't have to guess when putting things back. Not once during our stay did I think, man I wish she had (blank). The beds were comfortable with fresh linens and plenty of pillows. Baths were updated and we never ran out of hot water, even with the three of us showering at the same time. I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful and family friendly home! Has everything you need. We and the kids had so mich fun fishing off the deck and having bon fire with marshmallows. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

LISTEN! WHEN visiting the area this will be the 1st place I choose. NOT family or friends; this place was SO accommodating. Home away from home vibe. 2 adults, a teen, & two grands. We weren’t crowded & everyone had ample space. MOST IMPORTANTLY -this place was CLEAN. Not sure who cleans this place, but they need to be the role model for Airbnb’s! No water bugs, silver fish, spiderwebs, dust, trash, or late-night crawling surprises. My child is allergic & super sensitive; typically, we bring cleaning supplies & deep clean upon arrival. Not this time. This home is well cared for. The kitchen was great to sit & enjoy meals & time together. You can easily forget you aren’t at home. The grands played & weren’t stuffed in a hotel room. Location- 7 miles from Roxboro & a Dollar General less than 5 minutes away. Who can’t find everything you need at Dollar General 😊 Extremely pleased this is a no pet Airbnb, that’s hard to find! I need more space to say good things about this place.

Everything was lovely. The house was so cute! Very spacious! Loved how the dock was pretty close and not a steep hill to walk down. The fire pit is great. Plenty of blankets. Just make sure to bring your own coffee

If you’re considering staying here, don’t wait! It truly is paradise! In addition to being easy to find and spacious, the house has plenty of books, magazines, and fun things to do like the fire pit! Also, these hosts have thought of everything. We stay in a lot of Airbnb‘s, and I don’t think I’ve ever been in one that has been so well stocked. Having lifejackets and water toys was such a plus that we didn’t have to pack those things. They also have extra beach towels and blankets, not to mention super nice nonstick cookware with all the kitchen utensils you would need! We are already talking about our next trip to the stacks! 5 stars!!!

We had an amazing time. Both the deck and dock were great places to hang out, we had fun borrowing the kayaks, and the house itself had plenty of room for all of us.

Awesome home with Great Lake views! Strongly recommend renting a boat to enjoy the lake! House is in good shape and will sleep several people. Jeremy was great to work with. He is timely with responses and very helpful with information. I will definitely stay here again!!

Great spot on the lake for a family vacation. Dock is great for launching kayaks, boat, or just hanging out. House had plenty of room to spread out.

We had a great family time during the holidays! All of us thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The place is cozy, spacious, and quiet, with all the necessary amenities. Kate is excellent with communication and very helpful! I recommend the place for a serene and peaceful vacation!
