3 BR tropical oasis - pool, forest, and waterfall

GenevieveRating, 5 stars12 months ago
We wanted to share our great experience of our 30 days stay at el canto with our host Ana Maria. Right from the start she was very helpfull, not to mention the support she gave us while we were in the premises. She showed us the nice places to visits ( waterfall, hikes,), the happening in the village ( pizza day, crepes day at the soda, the rodeo… ect), we met lovely people that support the place, we even got local food made up for us, so convenient! We toured the finca and the amazing el encanto waterfall hike (we’ve done it 7 times with the kids and they loved it every time). The place is beautiful and very cozy. You feel home right away. The pool is amazing and well taken care of. We were 7 and had enough room for everyone. Strongly recommend this hostess. Pura vida Ana Maria and the group for this lovely stay !

What an amazing location! Probably one of the most stunning views of Costa Rica but certainly the best learning experience on sustainable living! The cooking of Marga is fantastic, make sure to eat there! You'll enjoy the nature and surroundings of this amazing finca! Un encanto for the mind and soul. I really enjoyed the tour of the finca and the approach/mindset on life. One day I hope to be back!

Living Sustainably and regenetively room # 2

AllieRating, 5 stars62 months ago
This place was an amazing retreat into the mountains after a long week in the humidity at envision. A beautiful place to decompress and relax amongst the clouds. Chema and Marga are amazing hosts, so kind and open with fascinating stories and insights into eco- living. The food is incredible— fresh local ingredients and made with love. I highly recommend! Definitely visit the nearby swimming holes / waterfalls as well. One of my favorite places to date!

I arrived at Chema and Marga’s place after a long bumpy ride on an unpaved road. My first view of the property almost brought tears to my eyes - their home is basically in the clouds! I felt so lucky to be there. And then when I walked in through the big, beautiful, heavy wooden front doors the sight of the interior really took my breath away. Even now words escape me as it is difficult to describe the feeling of peace and serenity I felt immediately. The home is just gorgeous and I have great respect for Chema and Marga for building this masterpiece by hand. Everything the other reviewers said is accurate, I will just add that there is a majestic view of the stars on clear nights, that Marga is one of the strongest and most amazing women I’ve ever met, and Chema is a wise old man who gave me incredible information about the earth that I’m really grateful for. I was so glad to have had access to such delicious home cooked vegan meals as well - thankful to the hosts for accommodating my specific diet. This is a perfect place to get away from city life, to experience the healing gifts of nature and to be in silence. Thank you Chema and Marga for opening up your home to guests, and allowing us access to this slice of paradise.

Todd & Jill were fantastic, going above and beyond the call of duty! Responsive & attentive, considerate & accomodating, & just good ol' fashion nice people! They helped us with navigating our way to their beautiful & peaceful property in the jungle mountains! They blessed us and shared with us fruit from the crazy variety of things growing on their land! The view from the main bedroom and the front porch that you wake up to every morning is breath taking! We hiked & swam in the gorgeous stream and river that borders each side of the house! Todd & Jill both have an incredible love for people & their well being & are extremely knowledgeable about many things including food and whats really going on in the world! We were blessed to have a handful of conversations with them! We cant even truly begin to capture the essence in this write up of how amazing a visit to Todd & Jills really is! To whomever reads this, May you be blessed in Yhshwhs (Jesus) name! I wish i could say more! Cheers!

It was our third stay with Noah and Maria. Once again, top notch service and very happy to be able to call them friends at this point. If you’re staying in the area, it’s def worth staying with them.

Jungle View Room - Casa Nautika Guest House

SheridanRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Jon's place was a dream. The apartment is beautiful, nestled in gardens in the jungle. The location is so scenic, with an incredible view of the ocean from the deck. There's a lovely yoga shala that we loved practicing in. The kitchen is well stocked, and we loved cooking every night. The bedroom, bathrooms and whole house is very clean. We felt right at home. Jon is a welcoming, kind and fantastic host. He let us use the yoga shala and deck as much as we wanted, and even gave us rides into town when he could. We felt very safe and comfortable, which was a big deal to my partner and I, as we are a queer couple. We already miss our new friend! The apartment is located about 45 minutes up a steep mountain road. I didn't read the listing carefully, so I thought it was a bit closer to the beaches of Dominicalito. Even with the blisters from all the walking, we had absolutely no regrets though! We just wished we'd rented a car. Learn from us 😂

Riverfront Villa with Pool, A/C, & Nature Park

TriciaRating, 5 stars13 months ago
The most beautiful little jungle oasis. I visited for nine days during Envision Festival and despite all of the units having people in them, it was quiet and peaceful, and I had the pool to myself for a chunk of time almost every night, and got to float in the river! I wish I had arrived a couple days early or stayed longer. The little kitchenette was great and the little patio was my haven in the mornings. Hosts were lovely—they helped me get my bearings with travelling solo in a new country. So very helpful! Chris even took me to the festival so I didn’t miss my excursion one morning when I couldn’t get a drive. I found getting a cab or Uber to pick me up VERY difficult and coming home at night most of the cab drivers wouldn’t drive down the last laneway because it is a dirt road and steep. It’s not very long, so I ended up just walking it. Something to note if you are travelling without a car. If you have one you’ll be fine! Laundry on site was a blessing but there’a a fee.

Private Riverfront with 2-Acre Organic Food Forest

DonRating, 5 stars2 months ago
You'd have to search a long, long time to find a more helpful, generous, and gracious hostess than Laura. She went out of her way to help us with a problem we had in getting to her place. There was a bowl of fresh fruit harvested from her property waiting for us in the kitchen, and Laura had put four fresh coconuts in the fridge, already husked and ready for us tothe cold milk. Laura also included us in a nice birthday cookout for one of the men who works there. This is a great place to rest and recuperate from traveling. The house is beautifully built and very comfortable. The king-size bed and the walk-in shower are luxurious. The washer & dryer allowed us to leave with clean clothes in our suitcases. The nights were quiet; the stars and the sound of the river were wonderful. We had a car but never left the property. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I've seen in Airbnb rentals and there was coffee & tea. We could have lived for several days on the items in the pantry.

Extremely relaxing place. The view is amazing. It’s well advertised and it’s a good budget friendly spot to sleep while doing other activities in the area. Wasn’t hard to get to it with the instructions provided. I think a regular sedan will do. The hosts are so nice.

Finca Buena Vista

Beautiful property full of kind people taking care of it. We enjoyed our few days here, as a reprieve from the coastal heat. The organic garden was a major plus, and the trails through the property and bordering jungle were excellent for hiking and exploring. Toby and our dog became instant best friends. It was a great getaway for all. The home was clean and comfortable. Access to the property is rough, so bring your groceries as you likely won't want to (or need to!) leave.

Sun House

DianaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
I was really impressed with my stay at Casita del Sol. After trying many other accommodations in the area between Quebradas and Miravalles I have to say this is the one offering by far the best view of the San Isidro valley. Both during the day and at night the view is simply breathtaking. Furthermore, I don’t think there’s any other place in the area boasting this degree of tranquillity and “isolation” and yet so close to town. I went to sleep looking at the city lights mirroring the starry sky and I woke up to the sound of toucans and many other birds that can be heard and seen from the outdoor living room, which is like a covered deck with a 180° view of the valley and surrounding mountains. In the morning I squeezed some fresh oranges that I picked from the trees right in front of the house and I cooked my breakfast enjoying the view of the India dormida, from the open kitchen. The property is beautiful, very well maintained and big enough to have a nice morning walk among the many

Casa Las Palmas

When we booked this accommodation we couldn’t believe what we were getting. But when we arrived, the place was way better than expected. Usually in photos rooms look bigger and it’s always a little tighter than you expect. Not this house! Everything from the common are to the covered deck, to the bedrooms, to the pool was extremely spacious. The POOL, OMG. Was a life saver. It gets pretty hot in Uvita, and that pool was very welcomed treat when we would arrive back from an excursion, grocery shop, walk or even from the beach. It was absolutely perfect. The property,as well, was way more than we expected. This house was nestled on to a beautiful acreage ranch/ cattle farm. Beautiful cows, horses, scarlet macaws, parrots, toucans, white faced monkeys and numerous bird species would cross our paths daily while we were walking the grounds and chilling by the pool. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to enjoy our time in Uvita. Don Oscar, the care taker was the best. Thanks Ileana

Susannah's place was one of the most wonderful, magical bnbs I've ever stayed at. The community and ecosystem here are beautiful, the house was clean, well managed and quiet, the other guests were lovely and Susannah went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable. I even wound up with two popped tires and she helped me get them fixed 💚 I look forward to staying here again! Highly recommend the farmer's market in Tinamaste on Tuesday!!

Rinconcito de Baru. We are surrounded by waterfalls

AnnRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My family and I had a great stay here! The location is absolutely gorgeous. Pérez Zeledón is magical…you just need to go, but bring four wheel drive (steep dirt roads). The apartment is spacious with very high ceilings. We felt right at home. The hostess Teresita is lovely and I had the opportunity to practice my spanish. She has a little restaurant across the street where you can purchase a delicious home cooked meal. The dog that lives on the property is really sweet and enjoyed hanging out with us at breakfast time. My son really loved her (and he is usually afraid of dogs, so that is saying something). There are 2 beds and a fold out couch/chair that fit 4 of us perfectly. The balconies in the morning are amazing with views of the hillside, valley and jungle. The birds activity is insanely wonderful. I thought the kitchen could have used a little less plastic and more wood/stainless steel options, but Teresita brought us what we needed, so all good!

Summer house with large green areas.

-JairoRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We had booked a couple of rooms inside Tony's house. Upon arrival and by a reasonable difference we decided to accept staying in a more private apartment, separate from the house. A very spacious and quiet place, with all the comforts, with a sleeping area with two beds on the top and an additional room down. Tony is an excellent host, very helpful and friendly. The place is very well located, in a quiet neighborhood not far from San Isidro and close to commercial spaces and places to eat. Highly recommended
