Coastal Haven | Amazing Ocean Views!

JohnRating, 5 starstoday
The place is spacious and modern with so many amenities. The view to the outside from several spots on the house is stunningly gorgeous. There is a long deck for relaxing outside and the sunsets are fabulous. Beaches are a short drive away. Everything was perfect. We felt welcomed and cared for in the way things were set up. We would stay here again!

Chardonnay Chalet at the Vineyard

AlisonRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Although our stay was short, I would definitely recommend staying here. The house looks plain upon arriving, but it’s a whole other story when you step inside. They definitely invested in the decor and amenities. The space is comfy and beautiful. We were thrilled to be greeted by a chicken and two roosters on the other side of the patio door. Being animal lovers, we got a kick out of them returning again the next morning. The view is definitely the best feature. The wide open land and rows of grapes made for a relaxing night on the patio. If you’re touring the area or just passing through like we were, this place is a gem.

Ripple Rock Ranch Lodge

BrittanyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
From the moment you drive into the property you are blown away by the secluded beauty. We visited here due to the proximity to Crater Lake, which was stunning. We loved sitting out in the evenings, playing cards while watching the eagles pass by. We were even blessed to see the Northern Lights. Thank you for sharing your place with our family.

The Iconic Short Circuit House!

BelleRating, 5 stars6 days ago
This place was great! Super cute and comfy and the fact that it’s a real person that obviously cares about the Home shows. Nothing worse than a place that’s run by a third-party and you can tell when you walk in they don’t have a connection to the place. When you walk into this house, you can tell somebody loves it. The views from every window are amazing. I couldn’t decide which room I wanted to hang out in. As soon as you turn on the TV, guess what pops up immediately! - If you don’t watch short circuit in the short circuit house, you’ve got to be crazy. Everything was perfectly clean. Bathrooms were nice. Bed was very comfortable. Kitchen was really cute and had everything we needed. It felt like the kind of place you wished you could stay a week instead of a day. We even canceled our dinner plans to be able to spend more time there just enjoying each other’s company and the nostalgic atmosphere. If you are a 80’s nostalgia nerd, this place is perfect. Would definitely stay again!

Below the Falls Lodge

MeganRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The Airbnb was amazing! Better than the photos! It was so peaceful we didn’t want to leave. The kitchen is fully stocked-which is rare. The bed was comfortable (we like non firm beds). The River was so relaxing to listen to. It was private and we didn’t see a soul. The place is so unique. Also, we expected no service but it was a welcome surprise that we had wifi so we could plan our day. The road is very long (~40mins) and we had no issues finding it- listen to the hosts written directions and you’ll have no issues. The road is very beautiful though! Book this place. It’s on my top list and we will return. P.s my dog loved the yard.

An unbeatable Ocean View! Plush Bed! Bamboo Sheet!

BrittanieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Stayed for two nights and it was very comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The bed was AMAZING! Most comfortable bed I've been in (aside from my own) in a very long time. This cottage was the perfect size for 2 adults, and if you wanted to bring a small child or two along, it would be great for that as well. Very comfortable and the views of the ocean were great. We loved the semi-private patio - we sat there and watched the seals and birds and enjoyed our drinks. I was worried the noise from the road would trickle into the cottage but we didn't even notice it. It was nice to be able to walk to the shops in Depot Bay and nearby restaurants. We definitely recommend staying here and would do so again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a great stay!

The Carriage House at Dragons Cove

JimRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The carriage house at Dragons Cove is an amazing place to spend some time near Yachats. From the breakfast nook there is an outstanding view of the ocean, with waves constantly breaking on the rocks below. Harbor seals bask on the rocks, and it was great to watch them from our windows. We hope to return soon!

The cabin was ideal for a cozy weekend. The only downside is the smell of the water but as long as you bring bottled water, all is well! The place is comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Overall, wonderful!

Modern Cabin Near Crater Lake

KatieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We loved our stay at this place! The house is beautiful and all the rooms are nicely updated and clean. The kitchen has everything you need to cook which was great! There also are so many birds around the house. We enjoyed watching them and waking up to them in the morning. The lawn out front was perfect for our dog as well! We wish we would have stayed longer because there was so much to see in the surrounding area.

Your guide to Oregon

Welcome to Oregon

When you think of Oregon, you might immediately picture waterfalls in mossy forests, cyclists zipping around compact neighborhoods, and a culinary scene where nearly everything is labeled local and artisan. Really, that’s not far off the mark. The largest cities — the main metropolis of Portland, the smaller state capital Salem, and college town Eugene in the Willamette Valley — are only minutes away from farm country and protected wilderness areas; half the state, in fact, is covered in forest. Once you drive across the Cascade Range, scenic highways wind through the high deserts of central and eastern Oregon, where you’ll encounter ghost towns and geological wonders such as the Painted Hills and Smith Rock. Head south to spot bald eagles soaring overhead in the Klamath Basin and vintners welcoming you to lesser-known wineries around old gold-rush cities. Everywhere in between, it seems you’ll find a wild and scenic river to paddle and a picturesque trail to hike.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Oregon

Yes, Oregonians experience their fair share of rain — especially in the western half of the state. In places such as Portland, the Oregon Coast, and Willamette Valley, you can expect wet and temperate conditions from late fall through early spring, when drizzly mornings often give way to sunbreaks in the afternoons. Winter and early spring are also snow season in the popular ski areas around Mount Hood and Mount Bachelor, and cozy times for staying in one of the state’s many cabin rentals. All of that rain makes spring a particularly colorful time, when sprawling tulip fields blossom in dazzling shades and roses unfurl during century-old festivals. Summer is balmy, but usually not too humid, making it prime time for outdoor concerts and adventures in the rugged outdoors. Early fall is the sweet spot, when the weather remains crisp and the traffic becomes light on the state’s winding Scenic Byways and Scenic Bikeways.

Top things to do in Oregon

Crater Lake National Park

Take a collapsed volcano, fill it with remarkably blue water, and you have the deepest lake in North America — and the seventh-deepest lake in the world. It’s among the most iconic sights on the West Coast and certainly worthy of a road trip to southern Oregon. Depending on the season, you can drive or ski the scenic highway loop around the rim for magical views of Wizard Island, an ancient cinder cone that rises like an iceberg above the lake’s surface.

Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area

A short ride east of Portland brings you into a dramatic canyon of basalt cliffs, where the Columbia River rushes past Multnomah Falls, the state’s tallest waterfall, along cool waterfront towns such as Hood River, and offers scenic overlooks galore. This is the United States’ largest national scenic area, famous for its waterfalls, hiking trails, and windsurfing.

WIllamette Valley wineries

More than 500 wineries dot the Willamette Valley, where tasting rooms feel more like low-key hangouts and families still operate many of the small-lot vineyards. The volcanic soils and temperate climate have made the valley the ideal environment for growing pinot noir, pinot gris, and chardonnay. Despite the young age of Oregon’s wine industry, the state’s vintages increasingly receive international acclaim.
