Farmstay vacation rentals in Oita

My sister & I stayed for a week, and loved every moment of it. This vacation cabin is well-furnished and well-stocked. It was unexpectedly cold and snowy when we arrived, but the wood stove kept the house warm & cozy. (There are also heaters in each room.) Soaks in the deep ofuro tub made of fragrant cypress were a relaxing treat (*note: the bathing room is reached by a short covered walkway from the house - see photos). Our hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Miura, were very responsive and welcoming. They treated us like family come to visit, and we enjoyed some good food and great conversations together. The location of the home is semi-remote; you're up on top of the mountain above Hiji. By car it takes 9 minutes to get from the house down the hill to Hwy 10 along the Bay. On the other hand, it only takes a couple of minutes to get to Hayami IC if you want the expressway. We loved the quiet and peace surrounding the cabin, and you could see so many stars at night! We look forward to staying again!

A lovely place about 20 minutes drive from Saiki. Highlights were: incredible sashimi (saiki is known for its fish); local onsens (one of them over looking the sea with salt water); hiking in the surroundings and on the nearby island. I would recommend coming with a car as the bus service is fairly infrequent. However the family very kindly took time to drive us around to the places we wanted to visit. Highly recommend!

The host she was so sweet and kind and caring. I was traveling alone and she gave me clear instruction on how to get around via bus and train. She picked me up from the bus station bc I didn’t have a car. She helped me Call a taxi. She was worried about me bc I was by myself. Her house was beautiful and in such a peaceful area. Seeing the horses was a cool experience. There is also an ostrich farm and a rice terrace within minute walking distance. Highly recommends. Thank you so much! :)

Wow! We had a very special time at Keiko’s guesthouse, and we recommend it to anyone who likes delicious Japanese food, wants to visit Kunasaki, and most of all is interested in meeting a fun, curious and very generous host. Keiko treated us like special guests and members of the family, from the pickup at the train station through to our discussions and visits to local sites. She was wonderful with our baby, too. The house is very comfortable, with tatami floors, garden views, and cool decorations. Thank you Keiko!

The Return guest house is a 5-minute drive to downtown, probably no more than that by bike. The house is in all respects consistent with the photos, with the shower room installed in the dining room (which helps to give it a vacation home feel). The room is spacious and the bedding comfortable. Kenichi-san is a friendly and helpful host, concerned about your comfort. Kitsuki deserves at least a day. There are many things to see in a small area and it is a real pleasure to stroll from one residence to another. You can move freely in the residences (and gardens) and take as many photos as you want because there are few visitors. In one of the residences, there was no description in English. A lady on the staff spontaneously accompanied me, dictating explanations in Japanese that her phone translated into approximate French. It was both informative and very fun!

The surroundings are quiet and relaxing.The house has a hot spring, very convenient, you can soak in it anytime, and the family likes it very much

It was nice that the accommodation was clean and simple cooking was possible.

This farmhouse is a very relaxing and beautiful place! We loved to just chill there in the evening and enjoy the tranquility of slow life.

By far my best Airbnb stay. Visiting this couple will offer you an experience you will find nowhere else. It will let you experience the Japanese life with delicious meals cooked with love by Keiko. We had a turbulent kid and they stayed positive and always happy to exchange with her despite the language barrier. This village they are in are in itself a place to visit with a famous spring, an astonishingly beautiful temple and several point of interest around like soem beautiful shrines and an impressive Dam. If we can, we would love to come back
