The host she was so sweet and kind and caring. I was traveling alone and she gave me clear instruction on how to get around via bus and train. She picked me up from the bus station bc I didn’t have a car. She helped me Call a taxi. She was worried about me bc I was by myself. Her house was beautiful and in such a peaceful area. Seeing the horses was a cool experience. There is also an ostrich farm and a rice terrace within minute walking distance. Highly recommends. Thank you so much! :)

Exclusive use of Luxury temple Lodge 1-3 guests.

AndreaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Victoria, the lodge owner and a Buddhist priest herself, gave us a tour of the temple and the chance to ring the bell. I was also delighted to meet Pickles, the temple cat, who seemed to enjoy the atmosphere as much as the guests!
A traditional Japanese room features a sunken hearth, with a long wooden beam suspended above, holding a fish for grilling. The wooden walls and floor create a warm ambiance, while shoji screens provide separation and light filtering, contributing to a serene atmosphere.

[Kawachin House] Come and play with the feeling of visiting your relatives' house!

JamesRating, 5 stars64 months ago
A lovely place about 20 minutes drive from Saiki. Highlights were: incredible sashimi (saiki is known for its fish); local onsens (one of them over looking the sea with salt water); hiking in the surroundings and on the nearby island. I would recommend coming with a car as the bus service is fairly infrequent. However the family very kindly took time to drive us around to the places we wanted to visit. Highly recommend!

【Good access to Mt.Aso in Kikuchi City】Sozugawa

PierreRating, 5 stars1 week ago
By far my best Airbnb stay. Visiting this couple will offer you an experience you will find nowhere else. It will let you experience the Japanese life with delicious meals cooked with love by Keiko. We had a turbulent kid and they stayed positive and always happy to exchange with her despite the language barrier. This village they are in are in itself a place to visit with a famous spring, an astonishingly beautiful temple and several point of interest around like soem beautiful shrines and an impressive Dam. If we can, we would love to come back

Had a wonderful stay.A farm that Sadachika raised over the hand salt, a treehouse and swing handmade for my grandchildren, a beautiful view of Beppu Bay, and a starry sky like a planetarium. It was a paradise place for my two little ones, and I couldn't get into the house and play outside forever.I think it's the best environment for families with children. It was a weekend, so the kiwi hunting and camping guests were always coming and running it alone, so I seemed to be very busy, but they took care of the details. The homemade honey was also very delicious. We'd love to visit again when it gets warm again. Thanks again!

An inn healed by songbirds and starry skies

AnnaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We loved our stay with Yukimi and Kazehiro. They’re real characters… warm, welcoming, enthusiastic, a real zest for life and a great sense of humour. It’s a great self-contained building with an equipped kitchen. This is real, authentic countryside so stock up on food. Taketa is about 20-25 mins drive away - what a lovely, pretty little town with some great castle ruins worth seeing - Okajō Castle. We would not have know about the annual cherry blossom festival with a Samurai/Shōgun procession and displays from the castle down into the town of Yukimi hadn’t recommended it. She’s also translated the schedule of events for us. We highly recommend a stay here! Domo arigatō 🙏
