We enjoyed our stay very much! The place is located on a elevated spot above Whakatane with breathtaking views! Lorraine was extremely accommodating and making us feel like home! The place is very spacious with more than enough space for our group of six adults and two kids - they even had a kids toy box! Thank you!

This was a beautiful and peaceful get away. I would 100% recommend if you are wanting to go somewhere private and relaxing with an amazing view.

Loved our stay at Sandy's, they have a cute lookout they have created, nice cute signs to beach. The yurt was amazing, lovely communication. thanks so much, loved it!

The surrounding native bush, tidy spacious lockwood and all the amenities you could ask for (right on the lake, spa, flying fox, kayaks) and a wonderful host to create an awesome holiday. This is a fantastic place to stay with all you need. Great indoor, outdoor living. Beautiful lake and easy home for all to enjoy. Lynley was very responsive and accommodating and we’d happily recommend and stay again.

My friends & I had a marvellous stay. The place was perfect, great views & peaceful surroundings. It was lovely being on the deck, watching the birds & looking out onto Lake Rotoiti. We were there for mountains biking & paddleboarding on the lake. It is 20mins to the mtbike tracks. The instructions & local recommendations were great. If you want a peaceful stay in a fantastic location then this is the place to be. Many thanks to the owner :-)

Beautiful spot right across from the beach. Quiet and peaceful, just what we needed.

Such a great property for a large family to enjoy the simple things. Photos are accurate and place is exactly as described. The reserve next door makes you feel like you have an even larger backyard. Great walks near by, easy access to lake a short walk or 2 minute drive away. Friendly and responsive hosts. Our 2nd time here and will visit again.

Janet is a wonderful communicator. She was extremely helpful throughout and we really appreciated all the help she provided. In terms of value for money, this was somewhat disappointing. While we were aware of the rules and preconditions of our stay before our holiday, having to cater for our own linens, towels, rubbish and recycling, etc. reduces our star rating and our value for money considerations.

Great old school batch that felt very chill. Awesome to get to use the kayaks and lovely walks nearby. Added bonus was the toy box and the box of duplo which made the stay so much easier with the kids!

Perfection…in every way. Great communication and Paul was very responsive and accommodating. The place was a slice of heaven and we will definitely be using it every time we travel to Whakatane. Super close to town, with 180 degree ocean views and very respectful quiet neighbours. 10/10 for anyone looking for an amazing place to relax and unwind. What a beautiful place to stay! It was perfect for what we needed and we loved being able to bring our dogs. Communication was excellent.

Our stay at Ash and Vanesch’s unit was great, very central for the things we wanted to do. The beach was just across the road and the Ōhope club well within walking distance, their menu was good too! We would recommend this stay to anyone however be prepared for a little road noise. Maybe we noticed it because we live in a quiet cul de sac. Thanks Ash and Vanesch.

Our whole family had a pleasant evening here. Although the weather wasn’t great and we couldn’t fully enjoy the lake view, the room was very comfortable. I especially liked the bedroom – it was very clean and had heating, which made sleeping feel safe and cozy.

The house is great. It has accommodated 3 mature couples and we didn't feel squashed or crowded. Location is perfect and surroundings are so beautiful. Everyone who went with us is going to come back.

Lovely relaxing stay at a classic Kiwi bach. Family holiday with our three kids and we all had a great time kayaking, trying to catch fish, having more success catching mud crabs, going for hikes on the headland, and just relaxing offline. Host Nik is super friendly and responsive, place was exactly what we were expecting and hoping for, and we will be back!! Highly recommend to others who enjoy old school device-free outdoor kids family holidays :)

five stars across the board! A cozy place to stay with enough space to stretch out. The beach is a very short walk... perfect for a swim after a day of hiking. The hosts were exceptional.

Fantastic place just as you enter Ohope. Beautiful little spot, and nicely located so you can either conveniently surf where you feel along the beach. Will hopefully stay again for another weekend getaway. Cheers

A cosy and quirky house with beautiful views of the mountain and lake. Des is a great host and the house has everything you need. My only caution is that the driveway is a bit steep and a touch tricky especially when wet. Would recommend.
