Vacation rentals with lake access in Northumberland County

We had a lovely weekend at Winedown. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and we loved sitting by the river. The house itself worked perfect for our family of four. The rooms were comfortable and well stocked. We look forward to coming again!

Lon's place was perfect. When we arrived the house was spotless and it had everything we needed for our weeks stay. Kayaking, fishing, and crabbing kept us busy for hours out of each day and the property seemed to have endless spots to relax and unwind. Lon himself was very gracious and polite. He answered every question we had, and was very patient. Extremely kind is how I would describe him. Would definitely recommend staying at "Almost Heaven".

A great place to spend time with your family and friends. The house is well furnished and organized. Bathroom and kitchen were clean. Bring your own napkins and food wrapper.

We wanted to take my elderly mother to a nice location and this place delivered. It is one level which made it easy for her since no stairs. The view is magnificent, just like in the pictures. There is lots to do, we did some fishing and also got some crab and oysters. They also have kayaks that we used. Place is secluded but also next to a small little ferry that we had to try out. The host was very responsive when I had questions and sent someone immediately when one our kids locked a door. Highly recommend

This home was amazing - Jack and Beth were wonderful - everything we needed was right there - game room was perfect for the kids - the house was tremendous and spotless and perfect and I can’t say enough great things about my experience. I would 110% recommend this home to anyone!! Book it!!!

Lovely stay for Labor Day weekend! We kayaked every day, took a bike ride, and tried out the paddle board! House was clean and location was nice and quiet. Enjoyed morning coffee on deck while watching the red headed woodpeckers, osprey, and array of gulls & terns! The property is 10 miles from a grocery store (& most restaurants) so you will want to plan meals. Bring staples! Host is super responsive and friendly. Would def recommend for those looking to get away & enjoy quiet time on the water. It is so quiet at night. We loved it!

Susan was gracious and prompt in answering all my questions, both before and after I booked the reservation. The house was clean and located in a quiet neighborhood.

This cottage was perfect for a fishing trip with 4 people total. We had a great time around the campfire and fishing of the dock. The house was set up perfectly for what we needed. Andrea was overall a 10/10 host, very patient and extremely responsive and respectful. I would 101% recommend taking this cottage for a trip down to Virginia. The beach isn’t a far drive and the river behind the house is clam and scenic.

We wanted peace and quiet and that’s what it offered. Our children sent me for my birthday. We arrived at night so it was hard to see the address that’s when we realized others were on the property. Very clean and fresh. A few more kitchen amenities would have been nice. A nice touch of a birthday balloon and treats. We would come back again. Thanks

Kelly's place was immaculate. Kelly went out of her way to help us with all of our things. We had a boat dock. Kelly had everything we needed from water to shore power. This is a one of a kind place to stay, very clean, furnished beautifully and the view is outstanding. Kelly great job all the way around . Thanks for having my fishing team. Thanks Donald

I loved Mrs. Theresa’s home. It felt like home as soon as you walked in. Everything was clean and just felt comfortable! The bathroom was sparkling, and the shower was amazing! All the furniture was super comfy and all the extras were there. I enjoyed waking up and looking out the living room window onto the beautiful water and freshly cut grass. I was traveling alone for work and I felt completely safe. It was close enough to stores and shopping and far enough away to not worry much about traffic. When I travel that way again, I would love to stay there again!

Joyce has done a phenomenal job with this lake house. Everything has been thought through. The house actually looks even better than the pictures. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. And it is super clean. The kitchen is fully stacked with everything you would need ant home or away. Ample seasoned fire wood and starter sticks makes using their MASSIVE fire pit a breeze. The best part is she gives you access to both of their docks and you will not have to take your boat or kayak out of the water once. We kayak fished Johnson’s and Lacey’s with ease from her house. 100% coming back to stay again.

The house was wonderful -- clean, simply furnished, a more-than-adequate kitchen and bathroom. Beds extremely comfortable. The pictures suggest the back yard is on the water....there is actually a house behind Janet's house. BUT, there is an easy-to-access dock that was just wonderful. The single negative? The bugs!! Not anything controllable by others, of course, but did discourage us from the walking of the island we hoped to do. The end of the dock was our refuge -- and the view was just wonderful. Birds plentiful. The people of Smith Island were welcoming, gracious, patient. No exceptions. I am grateful they offer such hospitality.

This house and these hosts represent the very best of Airbnb. I checked in on a beautiful Friday afternoon, but shortly after arrival, a storm hit the area that knocked out the power. Jenny and Dave were at the house to check on my welfare as soon as it was safe, despite a literal tree falling on their porch. I only live half an hour away, and could have easily gone home where there was still power, but decided to stay put where I was instead, and if that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about how wonderful this house and location and hosts are, I don’t know what else to say. 10/10. I can’t wait to return for another staycation!

Beautiful surroundings, with the lake just steps from the door. The cabin had everything we needed for a 4 night stay. Great mix of indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy. We absolutely loved it!

Our stay in Tall Timbers was fabulous, much of it thanks to the care, detailed information, and lovely accommodations provided by our host, Robert. He communicated extremely well through the whole process from booking to check out. Nothing was a mystery and everything was as described or better. The house is charming and in a lovely wooded location. it's isolated but close to many amenities and short drive to historical attractions, local businesses, and the beautiful Maryland coast. We had a particularly wonderful visit to the Tall Timbers Oyster Ranch which is walking distance from the house. We highly recommend this location and send our thanks once again to Robert for his outstanding hospitality!

Incredible stay on a beautiful property. It’s quiet, private, VERY well maintained and just awesome. I truly hope to stay at this location again in the future because it was that great! You can tell the history in the cottage yet it’s updated and cozy. Also I’ve NEVER stayed at a location so clean!!!! From the cottage itself to the grounds, everything was very well taken care of.

What an absolutely beautiful space! Once we arrived, we didn’t want to leave. The house was super clean and well laid out. This is a perfect spot to unwind or recharge. Bring all your food and drink and just enjoy the beautiful views. We saw lots of wildlife, including herons, bald eagles, osprey, little lizards, deer, turtle, and some jumping fishies. We checked out Fossil Beach at Westmoreland State Park. Lots of walking trails and a lot of eagles. We enjoyed some bbq from Fishers at the Barn. The rest of the time we lounged on one of the decks or the dock and just took in the sights and sounds. Thanks for sharing the beautiful space!! We hope to visit again this fall! 10/10.

To celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, my bride and I stayed at Pretty Byrd cottage for a long weekend - we were just looking to relax and soak in the peace and quiet. We got exactly what we were hoping for - the cottage is very private on its own little island and our only neighbors were all the wonderful birds! The inside of the cottage was wonderfully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. We didn't want to leave and the whole trip home we talked about when's the next time we should come back.
