My family and I had an amazing experience in Kurunegala! The coconut plantation was a paradise for relaxation, and the host was outstanding. He provided us with excellent recommendations and was quick to respond to any questions I had during my family's stay. If you're looking for a tranquil forest experience surrounded by lush greenery, then this is the spot for you. The accommodations were comfortable and thoughtfully designed, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Excited to return for my next trip to Sri Lanka, and will definitely come back for round 2 in Kurunegala.

Wir haben das feine Essen, die Ruhe und die stehts sanfte Brise sehr genossen. Toll wahr auch der grosse,saubere Pool und die zutraulichen Vierbeiner die uns viel Freude bereitet haben. Wir haben jede Minute voll ausgekostet und wünschen uns sehr bald wieder an diesen schönen Ort zurückkehren zu dürfen.... A very peaceful getaway, lots of space to relax and use of both pools without other guests. Sharmila was very responsive and helpful during the booking process, and Sunil was on site when we arrived to guide us to the villa and help us settle in. Highly recommend this place, it’s good value for money for the amenities offered and we left feeling relaxed and refreshed. We liked being able to be fully self catering and as there were no other guests it was extremely private. Thanks and we are looking forward to coming back!

Our stay at this beautiful house couldn’t have been a better way to end our two week tour of Sri Lanka. The open plan design and positioning of the house in its large private grounds is stunning with plenty of space to unwind. The large swimming pool offered hours of fun for us all to relax around and reflect on our amazing journey. Desh and Vasana looked after us so well and the food was some of the best we tasted on our tour. I would highly recommend this place as a start or end to your holiday as it’s only an hour from the airport.

Stayed between 15-18th of April 2025. This is the second time I visited this property. Absolutely a gem of place to relax and unwind. The location is full of nature only the sound of the birds can be heard. The views are stunning with a beautiful lake in front and a large paddy field. An unspoilt village to show children how the rural village life goes about. There are plenty of bicycle for the guests to use FoC and Can take a bicycle ride across the village and on the bundt of the lakes in and around and enjoy the picturesque views of the lakes and the Galkiriyagama rock that spans for 7kms. During the night only the sound of nature you can hear. In the evening a dip in the lake with the villages is not to be missed. The property is very clearly kept. The food is absolutely tasty and made in a kitchen cleanly kept. Ideal place to enjoy traditional Sri Lankan Rice and Curry and other Sri Lankan food. A place definitely you want to revisit over and over again. Great value for money.

I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It is a beautiful place in a secluded part of town tucked off the main road on a calm side street. The accommodation is beautiful, the rooms clean and super quiet and the ac works brilliantly. The host is so responsive and quick to reply. There are family and friends who are local and proved so helpful in finding local places as well as being great hosts and entertainers. I’d also strongly suggest getting dinner and breakfast cooked for you if the option is available, you won’t regret it, it was stunning and great value!! It felt so much more than just a place to stay, I feel I’ve had the full ‘Sri Lanka’ treatment that I hear so often about, warm, kind and full of laughter. The Balumgala estate was the highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka. From the peaceful surroundings, to the tranquil environment, tasteful furnishings and comfortable beds, the large and well-equipped kitchen, the walawwa style architecture, everything was perfect. Our host, Sandun was always available on Whatsaap to sort out either the wifi connectivity or the TV connection, which was not initially working. The staff at the property did everything to accommodate our needs for meals or recreation, and Siva deserves all the compliments that he has received in the other reviews. He is very polite, caring, thoughtful and an incredible cook!! We stayed here for two nights during the annual Avurudu with a family of five and we would come back any day for another memorable holiday at the picturesque Balumgala estate.

Coconut Escapes was everhthing we could have wished for and more🥥 We stayed for 2 nights in actual paradise The staff were amazing, so friendly, super helpful, went above and beyond. Food was phenomenal, tried a big variety of Sri Lankan food and I couldn't fault it, including the floating breakfast which was such a treat! Drinks were lovely including fresh coconuts Surrounded by nature, beautiful coconut farm and a nice and peaceful break. Went on a complimentary tractor ride which was fun and they offered plenty of other activities but after a long flight we opted to relax. Pool was fantastic, we were also delivered a surprise blow up flamingo which was a lovely treat. Cannot fault this place. If in doubt book it!

Casa muy bonita en plena naturaleza,con una piscina fantástica y muchas palmeras alrededores. La zona es muy tranquila, a unos 10 minutos en coche de la ciudad de Kurunegala.
