Monthly Rentals in News Island

Location was fantastic. Easy driving distance to towns and trails. A good central location for the places we wanted to go. If you have young children the stairs may be an issue as they are quite steep and hard to navigate in the middle of the night. Upstairs is quite spacious so we took an air mattress and one of our kids slept there while the other took the bed.

This was our second stay at Sunmeet's cottage. We love how quiet and private the cottage is. We stayed a little over a year ago and this time around it was very similar to our first stay. The cottage is very clean and Sunmeet was very responsive. We celebrated my husbands birthday enjoying some amazing bbq'd food and then had a fire in the evening. It's the perfect place if you really want to get away from noise and people (in a good way). Everywhere we wanted or needed to go was 15-30 minutes away. Thank you again, Sunmeet!!!

Really cute, clean and comfortable stay in Bala far enough away to be quiet and peaceful but close enough to walk to town/The Kee etc. Easy check in, super easy communication with host. Nice details like board games, dog bed, kayaks. We would absolutely stay again.

This cottage is perfection. Liane & James are just SO lovely. If you're reading this, don't look any further. Just book it. We couldn't have had a better week at Follie's Cove. The cottage was the perfect mix of modern and rustic. Clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. We felt at home instantly. The sunroom was the perfect chill spot for us and our two big dogs to get out of the sun/rain without feeling cooped up indoors. The beach was heaven for our dogs, and on a quiet end of the lake, so we saw few other people all week. The quintessential Muskoka experience! Liane and James were *beyond* wonderful. They set us up with a ton of breakfast food and desserts. Even offered to return the day after check-in to drop off more coffee. It truly felt like renting from friends. Highly recommend renting the pontoon boat from them and puttering around the lake. Wish I had more space to gush about the space and their incredible hospitality. We would book again in a heartbeat!
