We had an amazing stay at this Norwegian hytte! The location is breathtakingly beautiful, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The quiet surroundings made for restful nights, with comfortable beds and a hot shower to enjoy after a day of exploring. We loved the wood-fired hot tub, kayak, and fishing gear that added to the fun and unforgettable experience. The kitchen was well-equipped, and there was plenty of space for our luggage. The price was fair, and it's easily the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in. We would definitely book again!

Exceptional place! Alone at the end of the world above the fjord... one of the best views of our stay. A cute cabin built by our host. Very well equipped and very beautifully decorated. Special mention to the toilet in a small independent cabin with stunning views of the fjord:) The hosts are welcoming, kind and available! Best place to stay on our trip!

Cute, cozy cabin right on a gorgeous lake with a million dollar view. I know it's cliché but, the pictures absolutely do not do justice to what the view is actually like. Just perfect! The cabin is far enough from town to feel remote but close enough to town to take care of any grocery or dining needs.

We had a longer stay of 7 nights with Bottolf and Siw during our Norway trip – and it was just great! The place was mainly used for relaxation, for which the Jacuzzi was absolutely perfect. The house was very well equipped, clean and cozy – you immediately felt comfortable. We would particularly like to emphasize the warm hospitality: Bottolf regularly gave us great excursion tips and always inquired whether we were doing well and whether we needed anything else. We felt completely comfortable and would come back anytime. Thank you for the wonderful time!

My husband and I have had the most wonderful trip to the absolutely amazing cabin <3, we also ended up extending our stay because it was so beautiful, so 6 amazing days, we will definitely come back :) Everything was perfect. Wow for a place!! We look forward to the next visit there :-) thank you for everything.

We had a fantastic stay at Oddvar’s beautiful cabin; it had everything we needed and we really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and laundry room. The views from the hot tub and garden are incredible and very peaceful/private. The cabin was clean, tidy and felt very homely. We would certainly come back and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the local area, or explore further afield from such a lovely base home. Oddvar is a great host, good communication, responsive and friendly. 10/10 🙌🏻 Thank you!

An amazing, peaceful location. As Australians we had no idea how it would be to stay on an island in Norway. After a first day when we learnt it was important to allow time to get around the island to the ferry (thanks to tardy sheep), we enjoyed several days out to sightsee further afield. The house is most ideal for the wonderful views, hikes and peace of the island but, if you're willing to plan carefully, trips into the Sognfjord region are certainly possible. Very cozy and well-equipped apartment. An absolute dream. 😍 The area where the house is located and the house itself is actually so much more impressive than in the photos. Beautiful. 🤩 Perfectly clean - such a clean space is rarely seen. Everything you need for a short or longer stay is there. Very private and peaceful setting. Friendly landlord who provided great information in advance. 😊 Absolutely recommended.

Great stay and beautiful place.

We enjoyed our stay in this adorable cabin. The surrounding nature is beautiful and calm and the cabin has everything needed to make the stay cozy and comfortable.

The small, secluded cabin was perfect for switching off and relaxing. The surroundings are beautiful – lots of nature and a fantastic lake close by. I felt very comfortable and highly recommend the place.

We stayed 8 days in Tore and Ann Turids Boathouse with our dog Smilla and our 13 months old daughter. Ann Turid was very kind and always quick in answering our questions. The house is well equipped and it is a magnificent scenery from the house. The weather was a little bit rough sometimes thats why we could not use a boat. Ann Turid was so kind to organize a nice boat trip with a very experienced and nice local fisher called Rune. Rune visited us after the boat trip on the boardwalk to give us tipps for fishing. We loved the area and the peacefulness of this lovely spot. We took a walk up to Kronknappen mountain on a good day. We love to come again.

Johnny was a great host, you felt like nothing was too much trouble. The cosy cabin overlooked a stunning lake and Mountain View. Toasty warm and super shower.

We had a short but good time in the house. Everything was ok.

Great place to stay in the mountains - super beautiful and just like described. The hike to the house was a bit muddy so bring shoes to hike in (but this was not a problem). Loved it - 5 stars

It’s the perfect peaceful getaway if you love nature and scenic views. The house itself was clean, cozy, and well-equipped for a relaxing stay. Staying right on a fjord was amazing. The views from the house were spectacular. Ferries available to any island in area. I wish I had stayed for a month!

Maja & Bjørnars cabin in the mountains is amazing! From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the lake & the mountains and inside it is very cozy. The communication with the hosts was good and they had great recommendations for the area! The cabin has everything you need during your stay and we would recommend it to everyone.

Cozy cabin. Felt right at home. Perfect for a quiet getaway. Plus 15 min by car from a great hike called Lihesten.

Quiet location on the lake and yet quickly in the next town for shopping or restaurant visits. We spent 2 nights there and got along well without a shower. The living room with the wood stove is especially cozy!

The location and the accommodation were great! We were 2 people so we stayed in the annex, which is different than the main bigger accommodation. The view was fantastic and the space was great! Well equipped kitchen and quite spacious!

Despite the changeable and cool weather, we had four wonderful days at this accommodation. The view of the fjord and the landscape is stunning in almost any weather. The cabin offers every comfort, the underfloor heating is pleasant, and the peace and quiet are wonderful. And you can admire a parade of cruise ships sailing to Flam and back. Communication with our hosts was uncomplicated, quick, and friendly. Balestrand is an ideal starting point for numerous activities, such as a catamaran trip to Flam. Shopping facilities, bike rentals, and an electric car charging station are all available. This house is highly recommended for people who value peace, comfort, and friendly hosts. One more thing seems important to me: you can't drive directly to the house; the short path leads across a sloping meadow. My wife has a slight walking disability, so it worked. For people with more severe mobility restrictions, this may be difficult.
