Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Na h-Eileanan an Iar

This was one of the best places we’ve stayed in the world- it’s at the far end of sky - just a few working farms, converted vacation homes, artists and mostly sheep. The views are absolutely amazing. Rain or shine, the sun room offers amazing views. You can walk right out of the home on one of the most amazing hikes continuing to Neist point. The house was extremely comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. Everything was first class. There was even a wonderful gift basket with some delightful treats. Washer dryer, and other appliances worked well and the shower was excellent. We did not try the hot tub, but it looked nice. The grounds were also beautiful. It worked extremely well for my wife and I and my two senior parents. There’s so much to do nearby, but we didn’t want to leave. Spent five nights in May. Glendale nearby has all the necessary amenities. A fun place to spend a week, would definitely come back! Truly, a hidden treasure.

The location is perfect and the room with the view is great. The host were amazing.

We had a fantastic holiday, everything we needed was at the Croft cottage. Wendy was a fantastic host, it was my husbands 60th birthday and he very much appreciated the gift that was left for him. It waa his first time on the Isle of skye and Wendy had made it special for him. Absolutely stunning views and the sunsets were amazing! we sat out in the garden listening to the birds and watching the sheep when they turned up in the early evening. Also we were very lucky to watch a Stag on our last day right in front t of the cottage. So much more different things to, so we will be back to continue to explore! I would not hesitate to recommend Mackay House as a warm inviting space to to base a visit to Lewis and Harris. The property is well equipped throughout. Christina the host was very kind and attentive from the outset: the moment that we arrived she made us feel welcome and went to the trouble of explaining how the household appliances worked to ensure our comfort.

Appartement idéalement situé à la sortie de Stornaway, à quelque minutes d’un grand supermarché Coop. Très bien équipé, calme, lumineux, fonctionnel, avec une très belle vue sur la campagne. Rapport qualité prix excellent. Bref: nous recommandons à 100%

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft, die alle Herzen höher schlagen lässt. Ein traumhafter Ausblick lädt zum Verweilen ein. Vor allem wenn es draußen regnet und stürmt und man den Kamin an macht, ist es sehr gemütlich. Der Bunker ist außerdem mit allem sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir hatten leider nur kurze, aber dafür wunderschöne Tage auf der Isle of Harris. Vielen Dank!

We loved this place, very well appointed, and clearly loved by the host. Warm comfortable house and brilliant shower, what more can you really want?! Lots of light and beautiful views. Make sure you get something from the Mollans chippie on Thursday or Friday….! 😁

El alojamiento de Dot fue perfecto. Estaba muy limpio y las camas eran muy cómodas. Era un barrio muy tranquilo, pudimos descansar estupendamente. Tal y como se describe no tiene cocina, pero si tiene platos, vasos, un microondas, una nevera pequeña, y un tostador así que pudimos desayunar en el alojamiento sin problema. La comunicación con Dot fue perfecta también, estuvo atenta a todo lo que pudiéramos necesitar. Es un lujo podernos haber alojado en Portree. Muy recomendable.

Had a lovely couple of nights at the Cairnfield flat. Very comfortable and a good shower. Ruarie was very helpful with advice on the area. We enjoyed a lovely walk and visited Amy’s place for coffee and Mrs Mack’s burger van!

Its remote, and eating out is not possible after 19:00, bokings esential, drive over the hils is hard

The location of this rental is breathtaking, literally a few steps from the beach and it really is. Wide constantly changing skies, the sea, the mountains, the birds….all seen from the huge glazed doors. The place itself is tiny but you have everything you need and such a clever use of space and nice and warm. Bed, duvet and bed linen all super comfortable and luxurious. The welcome basket is extremely generous and hosts super friendly too. I loved the local toiletries so much I went and bought my own!

Well what can i say, its was absolutely perfect. We had just got off the ferry early and they were still preparing the accommodation from the previous guests and they let us put our luggage in 4 hours eary. When we came back we were pleasantly surprised at how clean it was. Everything in its place and a vase of flresh flowers which was a nice surprise. I would highly recommend this accommodation as it stands out from others ive been too.

An absolute gem of accommodation. everything you needed, really comfy bed. Lots of lovely touches, fresh flowers, homebakes , biscuits , sweeties, milk, eggs meats butter and jam and juices. Highly recommend Graham's place, and definately will come back. Graham and Piegi were always available, and helpful too.

John was amazing, so helpful with the check in, was totally surprised with the extras John had left. His place is so beautiful, so clean, great parking and an easy walk to the centre. Will definitely re-book next time I go to the Outer Hebrides. Thank You

we absolutely loved staying at Marie's place. The house had everything you need and was nice and clean. We got lucky and had a beautiful sunset visible through the living room window! The views are amazing and it is in a great location to explore Skye! I would definitely recommend Marie's place to other travellers!

We loved Mary Flora’s place - it was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Mary Flora was so lovely and provided us wonderful hospitality. We used the kitchen a lot and loved the stainless steel cookware. We really appreciated that the cookware was great quality. The bed was so comfortable. The shower had great pressure and was hot immediately. Thank you Mary Flora. I would recommend her place to everyone and would stay here again if we come back to Skye.

Very high standard accommodation, well equipped, comfortable, and modern. Ideally situated in the centre and an easy walk to shops, bars, and restaurants, and with its own on site parking. Mark and Eve are excellent hosts who quickly responded to enquiries, and were happy to offer useful advice (in our case, where to hire bikes). We had a wonderful stay and enthusiastically recommend.

One of the most, (if not the most), beautifully located places we’ve ever stayed. The house was spotless and well-equipped with amenities. Rosie was a brilliant host and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. I'm so glad we decided here rather than staying in the town, which we were at first considering. Can't recommend this place enough!

We had a great stay here! The apartment is so cosy and homely, makes for a great central stay to visit Lewis. Marion was so helpful and responsive and allowed us to easily add on an extra night as our ferry time was changed. The apartment was very nice and clean and had everything we needed. Will definitely stay again if in Lewis. Thanks!
