This was a great place for our 3-generation family to stay. It was clean and bright and comfy, and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches (linens and kitchen and bath items) to make our stay as easy as possible. The view was amazing, and we so appreciated being able to use all the beach things, kayaks, fishing poles...Mark has really gone above and beyond to provide a great experience in the home and in Surf City. We would love to stay again!

The Airbnb was as described. We were there for an extended stay and overall, it worked out well for us. The yard is HUGE, fenced in and great for 4 legged guests, the kitchen is relatively well stocked (was important to us because we were there for 2 months and cooked frequently.) The beds are quite comfortable, and there is plenty of room for a family or bigger group. Also, the University of NC is on a beautiful, spacious campus and it's very nearby for walking. The beach is approximately 15 minutes away (driving) and it's also a quick drive to downtown Wilmington and the historic district. We hauled our bikes with us in hopes of exploring the area but quickly realized Wilmington is not a bike friendly city. Too much traffic and not safe to cycle. Nice Airbnb--especially for a large group.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!! Literally one of the best AirBNBs I’ve ever stayed at. This was a combo of several things: the amazing host, the beautiful home itself, and the amazing location. Dana was such a great host; communication was quick and clear, they were so friendly, and there were extremely thoughtful personal touches at the AirBNB. The BNB was pristine and even better than what we were expecting; the pictures don’t do it justice! It was such a comfortable, bright, and homey place to stay. The location was perfect; literally steps from the beach, and Topsail Island has so many fun things to do. Definitely 11/10!!!

Our stay at the Beach House at Topsail was nothing short of wonderful! The location is unbeatable—just a quick and easy walk to the beach, which made our daily seaside adventures incredibly convenient. The house itself exudes a rustic charm that perfectly complements the coastal vibe of the area. We felt right at home the moment we stepped inside. The instructions provided were clear and straightforward, making our arrival and stay seamless. Minnie, our host, was fantastic—she was attentive and ensured that everything was in place for our comfort. We thoroughly enjoyed the cozy and inviting space, and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Great location. Two blocks from beach and canal. Spacious rooms, cute decor, kitchen has everything you need and the four bedrooms were all private and comfy. Good value as it is not ocean front yet so close it does not matter Beach very easy to get to from the house and so close.

I highly recommend Ty's house. We had a great time. The water views are so beautiful and peaceful to look at, my wife didn't even read her book for the first day. The house was clean and well stocked and Ty was easy to communicate with. I wish we could have stayed longer and hope we can make it back some day.

"The Last Resort" - Your First Choice

My friends and I have stayed at The Last Resort many times. As always, the house is clean, well-organized and very welcoming. Situated on the marsh, this spot is so peaceful and quiet. Great bird watching from the deck at the house or on the pier over the marsh. This place has never let us down!

Ray’s bungalow was much more spacious than I expected. It was plenty of room for four adults. Communication was easy. The location was excellent for walking to the beach. I could spend all evening on that front porch. We had a great time and wish we could have stayed longer.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Marooned Five as a family of five and we all love it! Our 2 younger kids love the loft and my older kid loves the second bedroom to himself. It’s not easy finding room for everyone when we travel but we don’t have to worry about it when we stay at David and Kris’ place. The two golf carts give us flexibility to split up and we also love riding bikes on the island. Marooned Five comes with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. We have stayed here during the off season and prefer it but will also be back during the summer season. Some of our favorites to do here: climb Old Baldy, eat at Jules and Jailhouse, beach days, have a date sans kids at Bald Head Bottle, visit Turtle Central and complete their scavenger hunt around the island. We went to Sunday service at the Chapel and had breakfast afterwards at The Boathouse. We shopped at the Maritime shops and scheduled a guided kayak tour (that was canceled due to rain). But we’ll be back!

Missy was an incredible host! She was always responsive to questions quickly and very accommodating. There was absolutely nothing Missy could do to control the thick NC spring pollen that kept us from enjoying her beautiful porches. I will just have to come back to enjoy them! We had a wonderful girls trip to Southport! The accommodations were great, the kitchen is fully equipped, and everything was clean and comfortable. The location is fabulous, and was within walking distance to the waterfront, shops and restaurants. It was a perfect weekend!

I came into town to visit family and all I wanted to do was get back to the Loft and relax! What a phenomenal setting. So quiet and peaceful and just the most spectacular nature setting. Very comfortable and clean inside and I so appreciated the stocked kitchen, ample towels, comfy beds, and the incredible trip down memory lane with the albums and books. All my favorites!

Mary’s airbnb was a perfect restful landing pad for our family while we moved our daughter in nearby. It is comfortable and spacious with extra perks like a screened in patio for sipping coffee and listening to the birds in the morning. We enjoyed a breakfast place and farmers market with in a couple minutes of the bnb and also love that it was only a 15-20 min drive to the beach.

We love the open concept, it allowed all of our family to be together no matter the room. I did love that the 2nd floor had a door at the bottom, it was perfect so that our toddler wasn’t going up and down the steep stairs. Our kids loved the kid section upstairs, It was a perfect set up. The kitchen was fully set up for any meal. the ice machine was perfect. It allows us to get ice, instead of having to run to the market. Showers were clean and spacious and fully set up with towels.

Karl was a great host, always very responsive. The place was nice. Went during off season, so it was nice and quiet. Barely ran into other people staying in the homes or at the pool/gym. Great location, can sit on the deck and listen to the waves.

Really nice stay. Single room and bathroom in historic house. Short walk to Castle Street with great restaurants, coffee shops and stores. Also walkable to downtown and waterfront. Katherine a very responsive host, thought of everything. Communucated frequently and left a list of restaurant recommendations. Complimentary bottle of wine and a corkscrew. Clean, well-appointed room. Snacks. A fridge and microwave. On a main street but set back, some noise but mostly very quiet and private. Charming. Just very nice and near perfect for one person or a couple.

This was our first experience staying at an Airbnb. The home was nice, spacious, well maintained and as described. There was a lovely walking trail on the road back behind the property- perfect for dogs. The host was very responsive. The only negative was that the unit shares a wall with a second unit and unfortunately there was another group staying in the second unit. They were very loud, played loud music with inappropriate language and lots of bass until late into the night/early morning. While this is no fault of the host, we have young children and it did affect our vacation experience overall. Therefore, I feel it’s worth mentioning and the fact that the unit shares a wall is something to consider.
