Your own Romantic Retreat in a lush tropical garden ten minutes east of Holetown. With secure off street parking and a private jungle pool complete with its own monkey troop!
“This place is right out of an adventure story! My family and I had an amazing time. We enjoyed the terrace immensely! Having breakfast while watching the birds, reading a book in the hammock or watching a rain storm, watching ferrets and monkeys play in the yard during the day or the fireflies dancing all around at night. Then there is the pool. It is so cool with the island in the middle. It was fun for our kids to make up games. Also, great location as we went scuba diving in the South, kite surfing on the East, visited the North for the sugar cane factory and amazing views and of course the calm West beaches were only a few minutes. Since there is so much to do all over the island, Bryn's central location was a wonderful and calm place to have as home base.”
Hygge House (HEW-guh) is nestled on a beautiful piece of land in St. Thomas, Barbados, near the highest point on the island. “Overall: We highly recommend this rental because of its peaceful location, spacious accommodations, and cleanliness. The owners were very hospitable and helped to make us feel at home and like we were visiting old friends. If you’re able to book this rental- consider yourself lucky. About Us: We are a small family from the U.S (California/Minnesota) and Caribbean (Trinidad) with a 5 year-old daughter. We have fairly discriminating tastes (I’m a lawyer and she’s an accountant) and it was our first time using AirBnB. Pros: The apartment is a very spacious 2 bd 2 bath with vaulted ceilings along with a deck and view to die for. Nice twin beds for the kiddos in room two and large eastern king in the master. While it’s not overlooking the ocean sitting atop a beach, it does have beautiful views off the back deck of both the ocean/island and green pasture with striking polo horses. The deck was a perfect spot for breakfast, watching the sunset or unwinding after the day. Its location is near the prestigious west shore though it was convenient to access all parts of the island from here.(Note: a car rental is a must at this location). After a day of island bustle (beaches, sight-seeing and shopping), it was a welcome respite to come back to this pad and simply unwind and relax. Also, it’s a working ‘estate’/farm- those 60 palm trees lining the driveway and polo horses are real. Our privacy was always respected and we felt more than secure. This property is pretty large for such a small island (or anywhere for that matter) and you can’t help but feel a bit like Barbados royalty. Beyond staying on the remote east-side, this is likely one of the few locations on the west side where you can feel such privacy due to it being such a large property and the lack of neighbors. The host Elizabeth (and entire family) was very kind, helping to pick us up from the airport (due to our late arrival), making sure we were always comfortable and offer tips about the island. The apartment itself was stocked of all the typical household items/appliances and the sat TV worked just fine. The apt was artfully decorated and the furniture was comfy. Cons: Not much to list here. This place rocked. But in all objectivity- here are the cons… super long showers and/or multiples of showers may drain the avail hot water- then again -that’s just logical no matter where you go. Also, depending on your need for ‘connectivity’, the wi-fi is extremely spotty and/or limited. I’m sure the owner will upgrade that amenity if you simply ask. Another con is that you won’t want to leave. Summary: All-in-all, we highly recommend this apartment as it’s located on a one-of-a-kind property and can rival any of the four star resorts down the road. While it’s not a beach front type property, it has its own positives that will make your vacation memorable and unique. ”
