“Overall, the place is great. My wife and I spent a week here. The location is awesome, on Payne's Beach. The beach and chairs are a short walk downstairs and the warm water awaits. The best portion of the day is the sunset, looking west, which were all awesome for our entire trip! There is a beach bar and grill just down the way and a lot of great restaurants (listed by the host). The agent met us to let us in and communication was awesome. The agent had pre-stocked the frig (to our order) and then went and got coffee, which we forgot to order. She was awesome! The features of the apartments are great. The master bedroom was very comfortable and the pillows were awesome. The master bath is awesome, as well. The shower used water that did not get super hot, but was was plentiful. The double-sink was well laid out. The entry to the deck from the master bedroom was great as well. The kitchen was well stocked, and the housekeeper was very nice and effective. The den was well laid out and very comfortable. The deck door from the den were the same as the master bedroom doors. The doors slide open and created a double-opening. With the windows open in the front (near the door), there was a great breeze. We often kept the air conditioning off and just kept the doors opened for the great breeze. We did not use the second or third bedroom, but they looked just as comfortable. One thing to note was that the Payne's beach area can get very busy. For a couple of days, the crowds came in with the cruise ships and the beach was pretty busy. We did not mind, but it depends on what you are looking for. The host had plenty of beach and shower towels available and gear for snorkeling. I would highly recommend the place and would enjoy staying again.”
The Yellow House is a 2 storey detached house. You sleep downstairs and live upstairs. Very convenient to Restaurants and Bars. Supermarkets 10 mins away. 2 mins walk to the beach and public transport.
“We spent 10 days at Vanessa's place, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The house itself is great, with a lovely large terrace/open plan lounge kitchen and located an easy 5 minute walk from the beach in a quiet residential area. We were made to feel very welcome and the place is both spotless and well furnished. We travelled with our son (16 months) - the questions I had before going that may be useful to others: - amenities within walking distance include c. 10 restaurants/bars, all of which do takeaway, and a fairly well stocked petrol station (not too much for babies, but basics are covered) - we didn't rent a car and found it easy to get round by bus (the nearest bus stop is at the end of the road the house is located on). Our son was fine with any of the buses in the morning, but when tired found the yellow buses a little loud/crowded in the afternoon. Still, it's only 20 minutes or so to Bridgetown and 7-8 mins to Holetown, and the buses are very frequent (never waited more than a few minutes). - the nearest supermarket is in Holetown, right next to the bus stop, and is both very well stocked and very nice - the beach nearby is perfect for kids, especially up until c. 2pm as there is a lot of shade. Water is calm, beach was very empty while we were there - everyone is extremely friendly to babies, and really courteous to anyone travelling with one - never had to ask for a seat on the bus for example, people were out the way before we even got on - the house is perfect for small kids, with a large 2nd room and loads of space to run around the lounge/terrace. The TV with all apps included was also very useful We had a perfect time and I couldn't recommend Vanessa or her house enough!”
The Villa is a delightful two bedroom two bathroom beach bungalow, fully furnished and enclosed directly on the beach in Paynes Bay. Dolphin Bay villa is just a foot print from the lovely meandering Paynes Bay beach in the internationally acclaimed West Coast area of Barbados. Our guest simply leave the garden and step onto the shore where they can immediately bathe in the breath taking Caribbean Sea. They can walk for miles along curving white sands beside the tranquil waters of Paynes Bay ,
“For the price I couldn't believe the value we were getting. It's directly on Payne's bay, which is where Tamarind cove and Treasure hotel send their guests to bathe. But you don't even have to walk anywhere, just outside the gate and you're on the beach. There are beach loungers provided as well. Also a daybed outside for some reading while listening to the waves (the fence blocks the sea view just so you know, but very peaceful reading) Shamara is an absolute GEM. Great hospitality and quick to reply to all my messages and questions, and trust me, there were a lot of questions. The value for money was just amazing, and the location to everywhere else was great. I've stayed in the hotels and all inclusive hotels on the same strip (2-5min walk of each other) and the rooms are just as good as the all inclusives, and the hotel restaurants allow walk ins ANYWAY if you wanted to go to breakfast, lunch or dinner.”
