A cozy self-contained one-bedroom cottage in a private garden setting situated behind the main house on the grounds of our home - across the road from the beautiful Little Welches Beach on the South Coast, just west of Oistins. This cute holiday home is spacious, functional, tastefully furnished in a tropical/coastal island style and is well-maintained. Conveniently located within walking distance of the essential amenities, with onsite parking and easy access to public transport and highways.
“When booking Air BNB, it pays to read other travellers reviews. All of them. I read all of the reviews for Mary's cottage before I booked and it paid dividends. My girlfriend and I have just spent the past 10 days there. The cottage is delightful and has everything that you could possibly need. The location is immediately opposite Welches beach which is picture postcard and on almost every occasion, we were the only people on the beach as far as the eye could see in either direction. The cottage is tastefully decorated, airconditioned, has a private outdoor space with an outside shower (handy when returning from the beach) as well as a hammock and a BBQ if the fresh fish and rice and peas at Oistins across the road becomes too much. Handy for the local supermarket too and Surfers Café which though closed for refurbishment during most of our stay, serves the best rum punch that we experienced (notwithstanding Mary's own which was the best introduction imaginable after a long flight). I truly doubt there is anywhere in Barbados that represents better value for money. If you are a single person or a couple looking for that perfect getaway from it all, this is the place to do it. “This is a very nice property in an excellent location. The beach is a short drive. The pool is beautiful and everything is clean and neat. Ferida, the owner, is always available and has all the local information anyone would need. She is a joy to work with. We had a wonderful time. FYI, driving on the left side on the narrow roads is a challenge, especially with so many roads not having name signs that can be easily found, if available at all. That is just the nature of this beautiful and unique country.”

The white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters of Payne's Bay are just seconds away. World famous restaurants are just steps away. The apartment is part of the Beach View complex (rated #1 in Barbados by Trip Advisor) with a beautiful pool, cafe, and a rooftop bar. “It was a pleasure to stay at Penthouse 309. It was probably my fifth or sixth time staying there and it did not disappoint. Rodney is continually making improvements in order to keep the space contemporary and comfortable. The apartment is far more impressive in person than in the photos. The view from the balcony is stunning with perfect sunsets and ever changing hues of blue water. We relaxed on the balcony with coffees in the morning and cocktails in the evening, and watched catamarans, boats and cruise ships pass back and forth. Here are some additional details. Service Rodney goes above and beyond. He provides excellent service from the moment of booking right through checkout. Communication with me always prompt and informative. When we checked in, the small touches such as fresh local flowers, fresh local fruit, and pastries from an outstanding nearby bakery really added to the overall experience and set Rodney apart from other hosts. Rodney is also his own knowledgeable concierge who can recommend and book restaurants, island tours and even car rentals. We took advantage of restaurant reservations, airport transfers, and a rental car. You won’t be disappointed with his local knowledge. Location The unit is very well located and there are several excellent restaurants a short walk away. It’s not in the heart of the action in terms of bars etc, but that’s also only a short drive away. There is also a shallow beach right across the street which is great for snorkeling. Other larger, more popular beaches are also a short drive away. Value for money PH 309 compares favorably with villas which are typically much more expensive, as well as typical hotels where a single room can cost as much as the entire unit (which has 3 full bedrooms). In addition I’ve found that hotels can feel rather outdated contrasting with this modern well equipped apartment. The service, location and amenities justify the cost compared to other airBNBs. Amenities The unit has everything you might want. It has a new smart TV, Sonos sound system, washer & dryer, coffee percolator, child seat and crib, ironing board, multiple large wall mounted air conditioning units. The complex has 3 pools, one of which is just 2 feet deep and perfect for infants and toddlers. There’s also a small gym on site. Overall, I would highly recommend this airBNB.”
