“This building is a beautiful piece of architecture of significant historical importance. The apartment is as seen in the pictures but it was even larger than expected. It has a full modern kitchen and bath with a large dining room and living room. the spiral stair case leads to a loft above the living room. My favorite feature was the two very large balconies on either side of the dinning room. One has an ocean view and the other a harbor. It is on Independence Plaza where the President of Uruguay's offices are located and a traditional guard can be viewed at the entrance. We entered with a keyless entry pad and Miriam was kind enough to leave us coffee, tea and the stocked the refrigerator with bottled water and assorted fruits. The wifi worked well for streaming, email... and the air conditioning was great but was only needed one or two times because the sea breeze coming through the 2 balcony doors was perfect. It is in the heart of the historical district with countless cafes and restaurants steps away. The water front promenade (Rambla) was only several blocks away and beaches were nearby. We also rented a car and took several day trips to several great vineyards as well as several overnight trips to near by Colonia and Punta del este. Miriam contacted us several times and asked if we needed anything and made herself available throughout our 5 week stay. She offered suggestions on places to visit (Garzon Vineyard was beautiful). TIPS: Shannon Bar live music nightly (classic rock is alive and well here), ATM in the Presidential Building cheapest fees.(found it on week 5 of course).”
Suite in Palacio Salvo, the most emblematic building in Montevideo, Art Deco style eclectic, declared National Historical Monument. Brother of the Barolo Palace in Buenos Aires and means the brotherhood of these cities. Museum of Tango. Spectacular view of Plaza Independencia, bars, Ciudad Vieja and Mercado del Puerto. On July 18 our main Avenue. The best location!
“The place is very nice, in a historical building in the city, overlooking the Plaza Independencia, the building of the Presidency of the Republic, at the gate of the citadel, a super central place, you can do everything on foot without having to move the car, the arrival and departure was direct with the doorman of the building without waiting or anything how good the schedule is flexible when you arrive the doorman gives you the keys, without any problem, communication is fast with the hostess, recommended, everything super clean and comfortable”

“Highly recommend staying with Gonzalo and Daniel. Wonderful hosts and willing to share their knowledge of their city. They made us feel that their home was our home. They are only a couple of km from downtown within easy walking distance, or you can take the bus. The route is a little scuzzy but was safe. There is a fairly large supermarket a couple of blocks away. The apartment is small as is the bedroom but it worked for us. There was plenty of hot water, the washer was a bonus, and the best was they had a latte machine to make my morning latte!”
