Vacation rentals with a kayak in Missouri River

Loved this quiet place. It was all we hoped for from the back deck to the hot tub. Walking distance to local restaurants while still quiet while there. Definitely plan to try and stay here more when we come to visit.

I stayed here with family for a North Shore getaway. This place was gorgeous, spacious, private, and quiet! There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and ample shared spaces for cooking, watching movies, and relaxing together. We loved the proximity to Grand Marais and all the great North Shore hiking spots. The pizza oven was a blast to try out and I used the provided telescope to look at the beautiful full moon. If you’re looking for a private spot with family or friends to enjoy views of Lake Superior, look no further! We can’t wait to come back.

As advertised, and more! The views alone are worth it. But lots of little touches throughout the place makes it even more enjoyable. Hot tub at night (or coffee in the morning) is hard to beat. And Betzy was so nice abs proactive with checking and helpful info. We’ve already got it in our heads to come back next year when we come back to town!

This is the third or so year we've stayed here. The location is convenient, the space is very comfortable, and they have everything we need to prepare a decent meal (or eat takeout pizza).

We had an amazing experience at Amber and Jamie’s Airbnb. We were immediately welcomed and felt right at home. The location was exactly how described and had all the amenities that were needed. We had an awesome time hanging out with the hosts, they even let us try their wild caught elk and had a fire pit where we exchanged stories. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who loves the outdoors and wants a place near Steamboat or the surrounding national forests.

We had a wonderful stay!! Accommodations are spacious with plenty of amenities to keep everyone entertained and space to spread out. Perfect place for our family get away!!!

Great place to stay and only 15 mins from Manitou Springs. Yard and deck was amazing!

We really enjoyed our stay here. David was nice, super helpful and responsive and his dog is so cute and friendly. We also enjoyed canoe and kayak, which are free and enough for 5 people. Also, the view from house is really beautiful with lake view. Firepits and barbeque grills are easily used and again they are free, including unlimited firewood! We highly recommend this place to stay!

This was the perfect place for a group of six women to unwind and relax. The place had all we needed. We didn’t even leave once we arrived. Plenty of room and yet cozy enough to sit and visit.

The cabin was easy to find and has the most amazing views! We came at the end of the season for a family reunion but I’m sure during the summer this place is even more stunning!! Since it was off season we got to bring our dogs and they loved the area and all the fun smells. The main road outside of the resort was great for walks! The cabin was clean, had a great internet connection, and being so close to the water was awesome. My husband was able to catch some small fish right off the dock outside our cabin, which was fun! If given the opportunity we would stay again!

Enjoyed the welcoming by hosts, coziness, peaceful and private location near Half Moon lake. Beautiful sunsets, night sky, and nearby hiking trails we explored. Provides necessary amenities for a very enjoyable stay! Look forward to booking again.

As soon as you walk in the door you feel like you are home! The dam keepers cottage is a hidden gem for Eau Claire, listening to the water going over the dam was peaceful and relaxing, the cottage is a one of a kind very eclectic decor you see something different all the time. We were there 12 days and each day I saw something I hadn't seen before. Lots of books on the area to glance thru! Loved the cottage and will be returning on one of our next visits!!

If you’re looking for a quiet, cozy, relaxing, cabin getaway, this is your place! Saw and heard loons every day/night, which is always cool. Very easy to relax and enjoy the surrounding wildlife and scenery, highly recommend!

Very nice clean place. We went for a relaxing weekend away and that is what we got. Things to go do that are not far, but a distance that allows your time at house to be peaceful. Bethany was great at giving the details needed and quick to respond. Thank you for allowing us to stay and relax

The Little Log Cabin was perfect. The moment we walked in the door, we knew we would love staying there. The furnishings are not only high quality, but also retro, bringing back memories from childhood. There were extra amenities that impressed us, such as a variety of charging cables and a Bluetooth speaker. We enjoyed cooking breakfast on the Blackstone and eating outside. There was plenty of firewood for the fire pit and the hot tub. The bed was comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was great. We loved staying here and would definitely return.

Our family thrived at Liz’s cabin! The river was perfect for my younger kids—calm and shallow in most areas, great for first-time kayakers. For more adventure, we tried paddling upstream, which was a fun challenge and a great life lesson in perseverance! Downstream and around the cabin is smooth and peaceful, perfect for kids. I recommend bringing a cooler with simple meal ingredients. I packed sandwich supplies but wished I’d brought more—vodka pasta would be ideal here! I made a quick run into town for spaghetti, but options are limited (as Liz notes in her very helpful guide). We also had dinner at Pokegama Lakeside—great food, a beautiful lake view, and an authentic Native American canoe on display! Liz has created a truly magical place. The natural landscaping, cozy cabin details, and high-quality linens made it so comfortable. Thank you, Liz, for such a special stay!

The Backwater was an amazing location for our girls' getaway. We love the water and the outdoors, and the cabin provided the perfect combination of natural surroundings and creature comforts. Most of the weekend was spent on the screened-in porch, listening to the birds and frogs. There are multiple comfortable and beautifully decorated indoor and outdoor gathering spaces; we needed more time to enjoy them all! The location is quiet and peaceful, and we even enjoyed watching a fawn walk through the yard. The house is beautifully decorated with unique and interesting items that serve as conversation starters. We even found a circus book containing pictures of our family's old circus posters from years ago! The scavenger hunt was great fun, but we didn't manage to find everything on the list. Sarah is an amazing host. She responded to questions quickly and provided everything that we needed. The kitchen is well-stocked. It's also a short drive to town for any forgotten items.

This was our 5th year of staying at Castaway in the spring. Love the area and the quiet peaceful lake. There are lots of golf courses and antique shops. There are plenty of local restaurants within a few miles. Vicky and John are very quick to respond for any needs or questions. It is a rare thing these days to receive the customer service and experience they give.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this cabin! It was fully equipped with everything we needed and more—every detail was thoughtfully considered. The location was perfect: peaceful, scenic, and close to everything we wanted to explore. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated, making it feel like a true home away from home. The amenities were top-notch, and the views were simply breathtaking. Whether we were relaxing inside or enjoying the outdoors, everything was just perfect. The hosts were incredibly attentive and responsive, making sure we had a seamless experience from start to finish. Highly recommend—this place exceeded all our expectations!

The yard was large and great for kids. We picked a rainy weekend but enjoyed the kayaks when it wasn't raining and enjoyed the full windows in the living room when it was raining. Several good places locally to get food or drinks. Good brewery near the river in Council Grove. My kids enjoyed the Ping-Pong table and kayaks the most.

My family of 5 found our stay to be home away from home! Very clean and spacious. The dining room window has an amazing view overlooking the lake that will be greatly missed. A definite recommend!!
