Great place and very nice host! Especially enjoyed the sake selection in the vending machine.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Naomi and Nori's lodge. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing! I didn't have a car so Nori very kindly picked me up and dropped me off at the train station. For the first 2 days of my stay I was the only guest and so I had the onsen all to myself. I had such a relaxing time here which was well needed. If you want to switch off in nature this is an amazing place to be. thank you!!

Kazumi was lovely and extremely helpful. We had plenty of questions and she went out of her way to help us. The location depends on what you're after. For us it was perfect as there was still snow there late in the season. Thank you so much for all your help Kazumi - much appreciated!

The lodge is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and a serene atmosphere. The rooms are not only spacious but also incredibly comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, always available to answer our questions and provide recommendations for local attractions. The breakfast was not only delicious but also varied and plentiful. We especially enjoyed the fresh, locally sourced ingredients and the homemade sourdough bread. Thank you for everything.

Expectations all exceeded. Warm and cozy common area was perfect for quiet reading and drinking tea next to the wood stove. We really enjoyed the gourmet breakfasts and dinners while having a chat with visitors from around the world. Staff hospitality was excellent; professional and friendly, offering warm greetings and help with carrying bags. Location at Madarao made for an extremely convenient powder day; driving to Nozawaonsen and Kurohime from there was easy enough.

Very convenient place with a short walk to the slopes and restaurants. My room was very comfortable, and was served a nice continental breakfast on my way for snowboarding. The staff were super helpful and accommodating and had an overall positive and cheerful vibe that made my stay really enjoyable!

Great lodge in a beautiful area. Kieren was super kind and helpful for our whole stay, going out of his way for us, and making delicious food every morning and night. We were able to chat with other guests during the meals, but also we could choose not to. There is a nice spacious bath which we were able to use all to ourselves at a time of our choosing (there were few other guests). I can't recommend this place enough, if you're in the area definitely stay here!

Jacob and Josie and Justin at Altitude Madarao looked after us really well. They provide breakfast every day with variety of choices. There’s a slope just about less than 100m walk and you can get lift passes and gear rental in the shop near carpark 7. Great host overall, highly recommended to anyone. They try to create homely atmosphere, where we felt from the day one. Thanks team Altitude Madarao..
