Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Mill Valley

I can’t recommend Joan’s house enough if you have the opportunity to visit and stay in Mill Valley. My husband and I, and our two friends traveled to the bay for my birthday weekend hoping for rest and serenity in nature (while still close enough to food/coffee if we wanted to venture out) which is exactly what Joan’s place offers. Such an artistic, beautifully decorated, comfortable, inspiring home, and I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to experience it. Joan is so lovely and kind - she is exactly the type of host people hope for when booking an Airbnb! Good coffee, food and shops are a beautiful 10-minute walk from the house. If you enjoy reading, definitely bring a book or two to read on the balcony - it’s the ideal reading spot. My husband and I are already talking about when we might be able to make a trip back; we absolutely loved staying here. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality, Joan!

What a serene respite away into such a calm, beautiful, thoughtful space. Pack what you need and just stay awhile, the environment is one where you never want to leave. Very comfy bed, such thoughtful decor, and a calming outdoor space. It's tucked into a little neighborhood in Bolinas with dirt roads and the best smells imaginable : ) that's west Marin for you. Alina is an incredible host.

I'm tempted to only say horrible lies about this place, because I want to keep this gem all to myself. But I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this place. The location was gorgeous, the interior design was beautiful, and the hot tub in the middle of the redwoods was just the cherry on top.

Gorgeous view! Especially in the evening. Very clean, peaceful place. We came for my son’s wedding in San Francisco. Daniel’s place was perfect.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Everything was super clean, put together, and cute! The outdoor shower was amazing after a long hike. There was often deer in the field just beyond the camper. The location was super close to trails, town, and mt tam! Would highly recommend!

Stunning location with an even more stunning view. We visited for a wedding, and Oxana's place was the perfect retreat from the hoopla of the weekend. Close to town, yet in the center of nature. A lovely deck to sit with morning coffee or evening wine and relax with a book. And the bed was very comfy. Would recommend on your next trip to Mill Valley.

Wonderful place to stay. Great hiking right out the door and delicious restaurants very close! Natalie and Eugene made everything very easy and the place was spotless. Hope we’ll come back some day!

A great property on the lower slopes of Mount Tam. Only a couple of miles from Hwy 1, so access to Bay Area dining, recreation and culture is quick and easy. Highly recommended.

There is some noise from above (the host family) and the bathroom is a tiny bit awkward with a very small sink tucked into the corner. But it has a great showerhead and abundant HOT water! I felt like the place could benefit from a professional cleaning and I found the laundry situation to be a bit lacking. But none of that interfered with my enjoyment of the place. The outdoor space is SPECTACULAR, especially if you are traveling with a pet or small child or if you just enjoy your morning coffee in a peaceful, sunshiny environment. My cat LOVED it too. I recommend this spot wholeheartedly!!!

Absolutely loved our stay on the houseboat! The location was perfect, offering beautiful scenery right outside our window. The place was spotlessly clean, and the host was incredibly responsive. We had a minor issue, and they were super quick to resolve it, which we really appreciated. We'll definitely be visiting again and will likely choose one of the outer units next time so the kitchen faces the water as oppose to the highway. Highly recommend!

Easy walk to Lake Merritt or 12th St BART stations. One block from Lake Merritt. Quiet building. Perfect.

Pamela’s home was a home Away from home . Very comfortable amenities, tastefully furnished , fabulous king bed and spacious bathroom . Pamela had thought of everything a guest might need or want . The apartment was private and quiet and the area felt very safe with lots of nice neighbour restaurants only a 10 minute walk away . Easy public transport options as well . A great stay!

Very convenient location, easy walk to UC Berkeley. Even though it's near a busy intersection, it felt very quiet and peaceful. The unit is much more spacious than I was anticipating and it was nice to have a complete kitchen. Al is a very kind and responsive host. I would definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic time. The view was second to none, with easy access to the beach and restaurants. Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. Great coffee shop within walking distance (albeit with a decent hill). We happened to stay when whales were just off the coast and saw them from the shore. Could not have asked for a better day. For those with mobility issues - you do need to climb about 10 narrow steps to get to the tram, which lets you skip the rest of the stairs. But there is no way around those first steps. Would absolutely come back.

Amy met me to give me the keys and walked me through the condo to explain everything. It was a very personal approach. She also reached out to me the first morning to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Everything was spotless and very high end. The place was very quiet and peaceful. I especially enjoyed the patio. I would highly recommend Amy's place to anyone looking for a base to enjoy San Francisco. I intend to stay again the next time I need a place in San Francisco for a few days.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully designed place in The Mission. Every detail was thoughtfully curated — from the stylish decor to the smart home features, everything felt both cozy and modern. The space is clearly cared for with great taste and attention. On top of that, the hosts were incredibly flexible and accommodating, which made the experience even smoother. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, design, and a great location in San Francisco.

Perfect place to stay in Alameda with young kids! Kimberly’s condo had a pack and play, highchair, and even toys for my young children to play with. The walk in closet was a great space to put the pack and play to add some separation for nap and overnight sleep. Would definitely stay here again.
