The Old Reading Room West Stafford, Dorset.

The Victorian Reading Room of West Stafford is of historical importance. Used before the war as a Reading Room for the villagers and estate workers, the newspapers were provided, the village shop in the late 1930s, then a workshop and a store room for the church. We have now lovingly restored, decorated and furnished this amazing building into a cosy self catering holiday retreat, "far from the madding crowd" Open plan, comfy double sofabed, wood burner, country walks and fabulous village pub.

Two of the bedrooms have internal balconies into the main body of the barn and triple velux roof windows to enjoy the rural views. No.1 The Courtyard is nestled just outside the village of Tincleton and was originally part of the servant’s accommodation to Clyffe House (1842). We are situated 6 miles from Dorchester, and within easy reach of many Dorset attractions; Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Corfe Castle, The Purbeck Hills, Kimmeridge, Southwest Coastal Path, Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, Weymouth, Swanage.

No.3 is a self-contained property which was the extension of the original farm cottage built in 1907, now part of the hosts’ residence (number 4). It has it’s own separate access off a quiet unclassified road leading out of the village of Winterborne Whitechurch with off-road parking. The property has been adapted to provide all the comforts for a quiet enjoyable stay but public transport is infrequent so a car is recommended.
