Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Mie

This is a lovely traditional home in a small, quiet town, attractive to stroll around and admire. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well-stocked for a night or two with friends and/or family. It suited our group of five adults and two 12-year-olds extremely well. The fact that it has so many bedrooms is a significant advantage for groups that don't all want to share the same sleeping space, as is often the case at Japanese Airbnbs. The friendly hosts were waiting for us at check-in and gave us an extremely detailed tour and explanation of the property. There are not many services within walking distance, so we were glad we rented a car. We cooked dinner and breakfast, and found many useful condiments and spices in the kitchen. Really, the only disadvantage of this home is that it is rather expensive, but the experience of staying there is unique, making it worth the cost. Airbnb prices in general seem to be rising, so it is not dissimilar to others like it.

The location was great for going over to Mt Yoshino for the cherry blossoms. It was one station away. Fireplace was a great addition to the colder nights.

As it was a country house in the mountains was expecting a more ramshackle affair. It was much better than expected . Solidly built yesteryear Japanese craftsmanship with huge wooden beams. Washing machine and well equipped , plenty of room for our group of six, double and two single western beds upstairs and tatami room downstairs . Read well the entry instructions if you arrive in the dark ( there are two key locks, one obscured by the key box and both need to be turned before the door will open). We did not meet the Host but communication was responsive by phone or email via the platform. We had a howling gale one night and the house was warm and dry, with reverse cycle aircon or wood fire to keep you warm. Nice garden , hardly any traffic and the Mountain Sakura was even blooming as per the photo. A little odd that you have to pay for towels after paying Y25000 per night but only a small amount , all in all a great place to stay if you have a car.

Everything about this stay was wonderful. Chie was a friendly and generous host. She taught our children to make sushi, tempora and pizza and even did a tea ceremony for us. The house is immaculate and enormous. It’s set in gardens (with cherry blossom when we visited in April) and surrounded by forest with no neighbours. We found it to be peaceful and exactly what we needed after visiting Tokyo and Kyoto. Chie made us feel completely at ease and we relaxed in the garden and the outdoor covered veranda for most of the day. We also trekked along the footpath to the nearby temple (long sleeves and trousers and sensible shoes required!) where the monks showed us around and from which we were able to buy locally produced sake. Our 2 night stay at this house was one of the highlights of our trip and we are so grateful to Chie for her kindness and friendliness. We will remember this fondly for a long, long time.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and clean house! The neighborhood is quiet and decent, making it a great option if you're driving and exploring in Kyoto. The host was very helpful—they speak excellent English and Chinese, which made the check-in process smooth and easy. The house itself is spacious, with two floors, three bedrooms, and one bathroom. It was perfect for us, and we appreciated the peaceful surroundings.

The reviews are all true! I had a wonderful time here. The house is beautiful and there was a lot of thought going into making it comfortable. The surrounding area is breathtaking. The cedar tub exceeded (the already very high) expectation. I loved all and little touches throughout the house, especially in the kitchen. Miho-San and Hiro-San are wonderful hosts - thoughtful, accommodating, and fun to chat with. Food was delicious too. Highly recommend!
