Monthly Rentals in McDowell

This is a beautiful cabin in the mountains of Highland County, Virginia that was everything we hoped for an more. Our primary goal was to get away from the noise and lights of the city and this place delivered. It was so dark we could see more starts than I have seen in a very long time. It was so, so quite as well. The hiking trail and the fire pit were an added bonus that helped us enjoy our time there even more. We can't wait to go back again in the summer or fall.

We had an exceptional stay at Big Springs! Durwood & Teresa are great hosts. We love Highland county so much, making this our favorite air bnb trip yet! We enjoyed the peacefulness of the property and enjoyed hanging out with our dogs. We spent our weekend hiking and breaking snow on many trails. On the last night there we lost power and Durwood & Teresa came right over and help ensure the gas fire was on for heat. We will be back in the near future:) Thank you soo much for the hospitality.

We enjoyed our stay at the farm with our three young children. They especially enjoyed seeing the animals around the farm. There were plenty of beds for everyone and lots of room to run around outside. Our gps took us right to the house despite not having internet. The only thing I would recommend is to head Adam’s warning when he says that the route Google often takes you through The George Washington National Forest can be treacherous. It would have been a lot less stressful of a drive if we had taken one of the other two recommended routes. Overall we had a pleasant stay and found the owners very friendly. We would stay again if in the area.
